The Earth and cosmic number; the Ley-lines of England

To return to the Tablet of Shamash from Assyria in the 9^th century Bce, the two deities or protective spirits above the ‘canopy’ are possibly ‘protective spirits’, (similar to the pair of Ningishzida and Dumuzi in Sumerian myths), who appear to be maintaining the integrity of the four-rayed symbol, while also measuring it; much akin to the angels mentioned already in 1Enoch ch.61, who descended to the material plane in order to bring Enoch through the heavens, as well as other angels then encountered during his journey;

“And I saw in those days that long cords were given to those angels, and they took to themselves wings, and flew, and went towards the north… and the angel said to me “They went out to measure… and these measures will reveal all the secrets of the depths of the earth… and these measures will be given to faith, and will strengthen the word of justice… and he will judge all the deeds of the holy ones in heaven”.

So these themes begin to show a great deal of inner meaning, and coherence across all the main civilizations of antiquity. A point in example is the already noted narrative of the experience of the grandson of Abraham, Jacob when he stayed overnight near to Beersheba, the ‘Well of Seven’*, and saw a ladder between heaven and the earth. He named the site Bethel the next day, meaning the ‘house of God’, and marked it ceremonially with a stone, which he consecrated by pouring oil upon; “And this stone, which I have set for a pillar, shall be God’s house; and of all that thou shalt give me I will surely give the tenth unto thee” (Gen.28.22)

*And indeed, the two symbols of divine energy, the Well of Seven, and the palm-tree, are conjoined in the Bible by Abraham; “Abraham planted a tamarisk tree in Beer-sheba, and called there on the name of Yahweh, the everlasting God” (Gen.21.33).

Metaphors of the Oak tree as a world-axis are similarly extensive within the Old Testament (see Joshua 24.24-6) and may be seen to be linguistically linked to other words and concepts of strength, or foundation, or heaven-earth pole, etc; such as ox, oak, axis, octave, oss (La; bone) and so on, with such words having their roots in Proto-Indo-European, Sanskrit, Hebrew, Greek, Roman, and then nearly all European languages since, (and maybe even the Akkadian early-Semitic language form…) Perhaps the druids’ reverence for the oak-tree were connected to such long-term and extensively held beliefs, among other reasons. Incredibly, in Wisht Maen magazine vol.2 (1993) in an article on the various place-names related to ‘nemeto’, the ancient British word for ‘a pagan sacred place, sacred grove or shrine’, Hugh Franklin proposed that the various names of sacred places in Devon and Dartmoor beginning with ‘og-‘, or ‘oc-‘ were from the Celtic languages word for ‘high places’, with both physical and sacred meanings;

“A Domesday Book spelling of Okehampton was Ochenemitona – possibly a dedication to the ancient Oc/Og, the once supreme ruler of the universe in Irish mythology, meaning ‘the high one’… compare the names close to Stonehenge – Ogbury Camp, the Ogbourne villages, the Og and Ock rivers. Another ‘bow at a venture’ might be to equate the Okehampton area with the Uxella of Ptolemy… meaning ‘high place’, marked on his map as seeming to be in the heart of Devon, but so far unlocated”. (Indeed, Oc or Og was later Christianised into St George). While these links are made extremely complicated by the innumerable changes in word and name meaning across the millennia, the themes these concepts concern are a strong part of the meaning of the stone circles and rows and menhirs of Dartmoor; as well as the energy-lines this section is studying, as they carry the energies of life through the land upon (geometrically created) key axis-lines.

To return to the assessment of ancient gatherings which took place at key sites within Britain, Michell continues; “Inside the fence was the hallowed ground, where rules of conduct were prescribed by law and religion. These assemblies had one basic purpose, to uphold standards in all things legal, cultural and physical… matters of inheritance, land rights, and lawsuits between neighbours were settled locally. Cultural standards were maintained by bardic and musical competitions; there were athletic contests, trials of craftsmanship and stock breeding, and displays representing every aspect of social life… for a week people did their own business, arranging deals and marriages, and socializing at fairs and parties. In pagan times every law gathering was held on the feast day and at the sanctuary of a certain god. That same authority maintained the principles of free expression, protecting the rights of anyone who spoke within the sacred enclosure”.

This quote may or may not be an accurate description of the lives of peoples and societies from the 3^rd millennium Bce, but may provide a small snapshot into the possible workings and beliefs of societies within England, Britain and indeed Europe in the Neolithic era, through the Bronze and Iron ages. Also while showing the importance of the concepts such as the 0 and the 1, or the ring and the standing stone/stone row, from druidic times onwards… and this is without even beginning to assess the astronomical uses of the same design(s) for understanding mathematically the cycles of the stars and planets, as well as the measures of the Earth; nor how the ‘sacred’ places across Britain or France etcetera may have been geographically, and geometrically linked, through some form of surveyance and measurement. 

The circles of Dartmoor are so extensive though, and the moorland is so sparsely inhabitable for much of the year, that it is hard to understand what their original primary purpose was, unless every small community perhaps built them for social purposes (?) perhaps under the overall guidance of a druid elite or cadre with accepted religious authority. Then they would have been possibly built to some overall ground plan while performing all of the associated societal functions too, as many small ‘omphalos’ points within the land. As Dartmoor is one of the few areas of Britain which has never been built on since the beginning of antiquity circa 3500 Bce, perhaps the entire land once possessed a similar high frequency of such monuments; or perhaps the different nature of valley and lowlands meant other less ‘durable’ types of meeting points were preferred, such as at sacred streams, trees, groves, river-crossings and so on. To return to Michell’s analysis; 

“Open-air assemblies in historical times were often held at stone circles and other megalithic sites thousands of years old. An example is the beautiful, secluded Boscawen-un stone circle in west Cornwall, referred to in the old Welsh Triads as a gorsedd, or meeting place of bardic lawgivers… it provides the focus for many of the standing stones in the surrounding country, which are precisely aligned on it In King’s ‘Munimenta Antiqua’ it is said Boscawen-un was a place where kings were elected. Other stone circles, the Rollright Stones in Oxfordshire, and the Derbyshire circle the Nine Ladies have similar legends”.

And equally importantly, “From these centres the land was measured out and given fixed borders. One of the traditional ruler’s main duties was to uphold the divisions and landmarks, and that was symbolized by the measuring rod he received at the ceremony of installation. By virtue of this rod he was enabled to mete out justice. Every Celtic chief bore such a rod. Its polar symbolism was emphasized by its length, which if graded by the ancient geodetic units, was a specific fraction of the Earth’s axis.

Once chosen, the king was irradiated with the mystical power of the centre… at the point of mediation between the law of heaven and the will of the people. Its ritual boundaries, defining the spiritual, astrological limits of each section, may have been marked by the straight alignment of stone pillars like those that converge on Boscawen-un and other stone circles” (p15-17).

Thus Michell connects the omphalos points of certain stone circles and menhirs with the ‘geometric’ and ‘geomantic’ centre of Neolithic societies and kingdoms – and the granting of kingship at such sites confirmed their alignment with the measures of the land, and the Earth; in this way pointing to a society and its people living (to whatever extent possible) in harmonic balance with the land and the cosmos. The parallels with the Israelites’ culture in the Hebrew Bible may be seen to be remarkably close, as the Bible section on sacred oaks, stones, wells and rivers etc, examines.

And one final point on this subject, is that from antiquity onwards in England was the custom of marking all distances within Britain to a certain centrally located stone, particularly in London; there is a marker stone dating to Roman times (the city was based around the area between where St Paul’s and the Tower of London later were built) called the London Stone, which is still present behind a grating near Cannon Street. “Antiquarians have seen it as the old Roman Terminus, the stone sacred to Jupiter, which stood at the centre of every Roman city… (located on the N-S and E-W streets axis), it replicated the ‘golden milestone’ within the Forum at Rome that marked the centre of the Roman empire” (p.4). Jupiter represented in antiquity the sphere of justice, righteousness, order, and civilization, confirming the positive nature of such stones, although the geodetic geometries of their location are far less sophisticated or complex than those of the earlier Neolithic era!

In science, the entire computer age is likewise built upon 1 and 0, ie binary code; this numerical form was invented primarily by Wilhelm Leibniz in 1770, in Germany. What is less well known about this, though accepted as fact, is that he was inspired in this by his studies of the Chinese system of wisdom and divination, the I-Ching; the system of divination which consists of binary choices (yin or yang) to create trigrams, or hexagrams, of three or six lines of 1/0 symbols. 

The common tradition in China is that the ‘heavenly guide’ of FuHsi (and his sister NaKua) introduced the I-Ching and its wisdom to early Chinese society – as well as the arts of writing, music, marriage and other facets of civilization. Very much as Enki/ Ea/ Oannes was characterized in Sumer as a serpent hybrid-deity associated with water and the piscine. The fertility deity Ningiszida, who in mythology was a ‘gate-keeper’ (whose name associated him with the Tree of Life)* along with Dumuzi in the Babylonian Myth of Adapa, brought a human being from earth to the celestial palace of Anu, was sometimes depicted in similar form; *(akin to Simon Peter, whose symbol, the Keys of St Peter contain the same geometries of two interacting lines crossing a central axis, and whose role was to form a connection between the ‘heavens and the earth’, as this phrase is used several times within Simon Peter’s narrative, such as Matthew16.18-19, ie ϕ, and 18.18, ie 100/ 5.5, or 200/11). Here are some representations from antiquity of serpents arrayed in double-helices, much like the two Michael and Mary lines as they cross each other in ‘sine-waves’ upon a central axis.

And as with the Sumerian deities Enki and Nin-ti, Fu Hsi and Nakua ‘created’ mankind, by using clay to shape the bodies which they then brought to life. (in other words infusing the earthly DNA of the early ‘proto-humans’ with the celestial genes of the ‘gods’). FuHsi is also believed to have introduced the worship of the PaKua, the eight-sided symbol at the heart of the I-Ching trigrams (which in detail bear some resemblance to the inner structures of DNA!)

To return to our study of Dartmoor and the energy line(s) which pass through it, the Michael and Mary line (similarly intertwining ‘male’ and ‘female’ lines) enters the national park on the lower west side of the National Park, just 2-3miles past Tavistock as it runs past the small settlement of Mary Tavy, and the St Michael’s Mount church, at Bren Tor, at a distance of a few hundred metres from the line;

As mentioned, this is the third church named after St Michael which occupies the peak of a hill, in Cornwall and Devon. A fourth example is the (now derelict) St Michaels Mt at Rame Head near Plymouth.

A mile or less southwards lies the village of Mary Tavy, and a little further east of that is Peter Tavy. (A surprising number of sites along the Michael and Mary line have some form of connection to St Peter; possibly because of his geometric symbol the Keys of St Peter, and as his role appears to similarly be concerned with linking the energies of heaven and earth . . .)

One of the most interesting points concerning the Michael and Mary line’s route across Dartmoor is related to a curious aspect of this area of Dartmoor – the area south of High Willhays and north of White Tor/Tavy Cleave, an area of just c.4miles square can be seen to be the ‘source’ of nine of the biggest rivers of Devon! It is a matter of fact that Dartmoor’s geology, plus ecology of peat and moss, plus extensive high ground and high rainfall, make much of the central area a massive aquifer, retaining massive amounts of water beneath the ground. And yet it is incredible that this small area of upper moorland spaced around the M/M line contains the starting points for the following nine major rivers; (the river heads are indicated by the nine blue dots, two above the line, seven below. The tor located above the line, High Willhays, at 621 metres height is the highest point on Dartmoor, and indeed, in southern Britain); 

Each of these rivers is a main waterway through Devon, with areas, valleys and even council areas named after them, as well as medium-sized towns such as Tavistock, Teignmouth, Dartmouth, Okehampton etc. The last column figures are the proximity of each of the river sources (heads) to the M/M line as it transits Dartmoor.

This circumstance may obviously not be clear proof of the existence of ley-lines, or energy-fields etc; only that higher amounts of meaningful phenomena appear to occur along the lines indicated by the hexagonal geometries shown … so, for example, any  geologists or geographers may argue that it is perfectly natural for all these rivers to originate in a small area of the highest points on Dartmoor – as it perhaps contains beneath its surface an enormous aquifer /reservoir, which then gives rise to these rivers accordingly; but in being so close to the 366 mile long M/M line it offers some support to this study’s contention that matter follows energy – which itself flows according to natural principles; “Man follows the earth. The earth follows the universe. The universe follows the Tao” – as written by the Chinese sage Lao Tzu, circa 500 Bce. 

(A similar coincidence is that the river Thames, one of the major rivers of the nation, measures 346 kilometres (215 miles) long, the same figure as the ‘cosmic number’ 3.456/ 34.56/ 345.6 etc; the N-S axis of England in miles, the height of the ‘spine’ of the Great Pyramid the Grand Gallery is 346 inches, or 28.8 feet, a squared circle of diameter 11 units has a circumference of 34.56 units (11 x  π ), while a square of equal perimeter thus has 4 sides of 8.64 units; one degree of the Earth’s equatorial circumference = 69.12 miles, which means half a degree, or 1/720 of the Earth’s eq.circumference = 34.56 miles’; and so on).

Another point of note is the curious collection of cairns, hut and stone circles, and stone rows around the eastern-most edge of Dartmoor; in the vicinity of Cosdon Hill, the River Taw and Belstone (Tor and village).

What is noteworthy is, firstly, the double stone-row situated on eastern slope of Cosdon Hill. Because, if a line is traced from this double-row westwards, it points directly across the valley through which the river Taw threads its way, to a cairn circle atop the Belstone Tor ridge (potentially explaining its alignment). And half a kilometre north along the tor’s peak down towards the village is another cairn circle, this called ‘the Nine Maidens’ stone circle. . . whether this stone row/circle relationship is the actual reason for the stone line’s alignment is unclear; yet the coincidence is noticeable, as is the proximity to the M/M line, and to the small area where Dartmoor gives rise to nine of Devon’s largest rivers. And it is yet another example of Neolithic symbolism uniting the 0 and the 1. Markings of outlines of female aspects of fertility have been noted on some of Dartmoor’s stones, indicating the sites/ and the stones may have been ascribed healing powers especially in matters of reproduction, as was commonly believed in antiquity, a matter that would be supported by the sites very often being located at junctures of high energy within the earth’s energy-lines and -fields.

Cosdon Hill lays on the edge of the north-eastern side of the national park, easily visible from up to 15 miles distance, such is its imposing height and size; around two miles broad, and 550metres high, it faces Belstone Tor across the U-shaped river valley.

 The M/M line travels a short distance south of Cosdon beacon, less than a mile, traversing within yards of the White Moor Stone and cairn circle of Little Hound Tor, before leaving the moors and entering the agricultural land of Gidleigh, Throwleigh, and onwards into midwest-Devon.

From the eastern edge of upper Dartmoor near to Cosdon Hill the Michael and Mary line traverses Devon along its inclined path of 61° towards Taunton and Somerset. Some 30 miles from there, the line runs within a mile of Glastonbury Tor, (which is midway between Bristol in the north, and Dorchester on the south coast.)

Glastonbury Tor, and St Michael’s church at its peak, are linked in myth to several key figures; both King Arthur and Merlin in Gaelic/Celtic mythology are said to have lived or visited here, and it is believed to be the Isle of Avalon of Arthurian legend; and myths have existed for a long time that Jesus visited here during his travels in the ‘hidden’ period of his life, between 14-28 years of age. 

Additionally, it has long been a legend of Glastonbury and England that Joseph of Arimathea and a group of relatives and missionaries arrived in the aftermath of Jesus’ crucifixion, in Ad 37, sent over from Gaul by St Philip. This narrative is supported as far back in time as the 2^nd century, in the writings of Origen and Tertullian, and the English historian and cleric Gildas in the 6^th century. Incredibly therefore, the dates of the establishment of the ‘English Christian church’ therefore are earlier than that of the Roman Catholic church established around Ad 65-70 by St Peter! Something which Henry VIII was quick to include in his declarations when the English church split with Rome in 1545…

Myth has it that Joseph and his eleven companions were given land by the ruling king, where they built a round church, and established a twelve-sided building plan around it, aligning their community with the dodecahedral number scheme of the heavens.

John Michell has this to say about it; “Glastonbury has been described as Britain’s only true shrine, the omphalos or Temple of Britain and the English Jerusalem. It was Avalon, the western isle of the dead, a centre of the ancient mysteries, known from the earliest times as a place of supreme natural sanctity”. (City of Revelations, p27).

Glastonbury has been said to be one of the major confluence points of ley-lines within the world, according to widespread ‘New Age’ beliefs, making it one of the most sacred sites in Britain, if not the world; the close proximity of the Michael and Mary line lends some support to such assertions; as does the church being named after St Michael, since the eleventh or twelfth centuries.

Of particular interest, concerning previous chapters mention of sacred sites being located directly over subterranean watercourses, such as Chartres Cathedral, is the spring known as the Chalice Well, which flows out from the base of Glastonbury Tor.

Among the many denomination churches and places of worship in Glastonbury town is one set up by the Sufi leader Sheikh Nazim Al-Haqqani in 1999; the Sheikh, a leader of the Naqshbandi Order of Sufis said when doing so; “Glastonbury is the spiritual heart of England. . . it is from here that the spiritual new age will begin and to here that Jesus will return” !! 

The Naq’shbandi (‘symbol-makers’) order incidentally traces its roots to Bauhauddin Naqshbandi, the eleventh generation descendant of the Eleventh Imam, Al-Askari; something we examine in the Bible section on Cosmic number, St Peter and the Nagas.

A further forty miles or so along the line from Glastonbury, in the key county of Wiltshire, is the World Heritage Site of Stonehenge and Avebury, and several other closely linked sites; the WHS is a composite designation, covering the distance of about fifteen miles between the two main locations, and a host of related archaeologically valuable cairns, earthworks, barrows, stone rows and circles.

Also included, as further world class examples of megalithic/ Neolithic/ bronze-age environment-shaping are sites 10-15 miles from Stonehenge, such as Woodhenge, Avebury village/ earthworks, Silbury Hill, West Kennet Long barrow, Beckhampton Avenue, and the Sanctuary; numerous smaller barrows, and so on. . . comprising some of the best-known and most significant Neolithic sites in England, all within close proximity of Avebury in Wiltshire.

Silbury Hill, West Kennet long barrow, the Sanctuary stone row and circle, East Kennet long barrow, several other barrows, and the start of the ancient road the Ridgeway are all within this picture; as well as the Michael and Mary line obviously. 

As shown Avebury at top has an avenue or row of standing stones leading south-westwards to Beckhampton, (called the Adam and Eve stones, alongside long stones and a long barrow at Beckhampton), a row of stones leading south-eastwards down to East Kennet long barrows and the Sanctuary, and directly south of the village is Silbury Hill, with the West Kennet long barrow a field’s length across the road further south, just westwards of the Sanctuary located between West and East Kennet! As such, it is one of the most extensively developed areas in the entirety of England for the Neolithic era of the 4^th millennium Bce, (indeed is likewise one of Britain’s most significant historical and archaeological sites in the present day, explaining its World Heritage Site classification).

Sir William Stukeley the English scholar and antiquarian visited and drew this diagram of Avebury and surrounding Neolithic sites and edifices, in 1724. He ascribed the area’s various connected sites as being the work of the Druids as traditionally believed, and aimed at creating the alchemy of the serpent and the circle within the energy-filled landscape. It is curious considering how concerned with the fertilization of the land these man-made ‘cultivations’, and natural meridians are, that this drawing resembles the male spermatozoa, and the female egg…         ⇨

Avebury Henge comprises three extensive concentric stone circles, built around the village of Avebury, in a rarely encountered, and intriguing design; there is little doubt the entirety was designed and built with astronomical/ stellar/ religious considerations in mind, as several studies of the inner geometries of the village have hypothesized.

It is one of the largest-area stone circles in the entire world, which along with the other features of the area no doubt contributed to it being made a UNESCO World Heritage Site in the 20th century. It is worth noting here the number of crop circles which have appeared in this county in particular is incredibly high, something which again is a matter with no clear or certain answers. And of course, the potential meanings/ information encoded into the geometrically based and artistically sophisticated designs offer much food for thought; many symbols of antiquity are based upon the geometry of the squared, or quartered circle for example, which since Sumerian times was used to depict the four directions of the compass, or the four seasons within the circle of the year.

 That the entire area has many outstanding examples of Neolithic building works conceived with sacred, and astronomical designs is clear. Richard Heath notes the orientation of many Neolithic sites to the points of the compass; “Megalithic tombs are generally oriented towards a solstice, to catch the sun’s light at sunrise or sunset. Thus the basics of meaning for a centre become associations of local land features with the sky, to which can be added geometrical and metrical associations” (p.96, op.cit)

The circular shaping of the various henges attests to their geometric uses as solar, lunar and stellar observatories/ calculators; as such, the equinoxes and solstices of the solar year were indicated with stone pillars marking the limits of the sun’s ‘wanderings’ north or south of direct East on the dates which define the seasons of the year; March/ June/ Sept/ December 21^st;.  As well as a way of delineating the highest and lowest angles of the sun in the south during the year at the two solstices, with the equinoxes at mid-point, (so that the four points of the sun in the south thus form a cross shape, identical to the UFO’s seen over Nuremberg in 1561 and depicted by Hans Glaser).

Indeed, Richard Heath points out in ‘Sacred Number and the Origin of Civilizations’ the skills shown by the druidic elite(s) of the Neolithic eras from circa 3800 Bce; 

“The creation of a solar calendar requires a centre, formed either by a solitary standing stone or by surrounding a central stone with a circle of stones. The centre can then be aligned with one of the surrounding stones or a standing stone in the middle distance or even a feature on the horizon . . . The longer the sightline the more accurate the alignment.

While the culture of the megalithic is long gone, the monuments and their alignments remain. Though still enigmatic to science, the alignments demonstrate knowledge of the sky and a high degree of competence in the measurement of angles both in the sky and on the land. This means that the observation of the sky had intensified the skill of counting, through marks, into a capacity to measure angles” (p14).

An example of the incredible aptness these monument builders had as regards the deeper framework of the world energy-grid is, in addition to their own complex geometric networks, as the writer Robin Heath notes, the latitude of the centre of the Avebury circle; this is 51.42 73°N – so therefore Avebury is precisely 1/7th of the Earth’s polar circumference on a line around the earth which crosses the poles, as 360/7 = 51.428. Something clearly intentional considering the (geometric) accuracy and sophistication of so many of the sites of the Neolithic era, such as Stonehenge, designed and built with the ability to calculate numerous long-term astronomical and calendrical data. As Heath states, an identifying feature of the most advanced megalithic constructions of antiquity is that the monuments have a ‘numerical, metrological and astronomical basis’. (Heath, op.cit, p13). How exactly such a ‘cosmic’ and geodetic awareness could have found its way into the monuments and ‘grids’ of the druids remains unanswered. 

 The Michael and Mary line passes within about 2500 metres (2.5km/1.6m) of Avebury; yet as can be seen from William Stukeley’s 1724 drawing, there are several connected sites much closer to the line.

South eastwards towards Overbury (and the start of the Ridgeway) and the Michael and Mary line lies the Avenue, a double row of around one hundred standing stones running a length of c.1.5miles. On a map it resembles a line connected to the circle of Avebury, in the manner noted on Dartmoor of occasional conjunctions of rows and circles. It is certainly possible to view their potential symbolism of the body (spine) and the head, the line and the circle (and the phi ϕ symbol therefore) within this site’s geometries. 

The Avenue dates to at least 1800-2500 Bce, while the first modern survey of the site was by John Aubrey, the famous 17th century antiquarian and writer.

A mile to the south of Avebury, and west of the Avenue, toward the M/M line (c.0.6miles distance) is Silbury Hill – the largest human-built mound in Europe, at around 125-30 feet high and 500 feet in diameter. It also is part of the Avebury WHS, dating back to c2400Bc. Why it was built is not clear, but the number of features in the area, and their proximity to the M/M line does offer tentative support to the existence of some sort of coherent ‘ground plan’ during the period they were created. In addition to its inherent features, there are some surprising synchronicities between Silbury Hill and the Great Pyramid; 

The Pyramid is at 30°N, and 51.84° angle of slope; Silbury Hill is at 51.41°N and 30° angle. . . and of course the shape of Silbury Hill is similar to that of the pyramids, even to the detail of having a flattened apex. It is the largest human constructed hill in Europe, and still retains many of its mysteries today, being too large for a complete archaeological study (unlike in the 18^th and 19^th centuries when some notorious ‘antiquarians’ in Britain would not only dig up such historic mounds and tumuli etc looking for buried treasure, but would actually destroy them completely in doing so..! 

Immediately next to Silbury are more fine examples of the Copper (4500-3300Bce) and Bronze Age (3300-1200Bce) periods;

 In a field just across the road is the West Kennet Longbarrow (shown left), which is 300 feet long, 60 feet wide and 6-10 feet high inside; it is estimated to date from somewhere around 3800 Bce according to dating of bones found within it, being apparently built and used as a stone-lined earthen tumulus for the ‘burial’ of human bones and remains of ancestors and relatives. The antiquarians John Aubrey and William Stukeley both visited the Longbarrow in the 17/18^th centuries and described it in their works; even today it is viewed as a central energetic site by Wiccan and New Age adherents etc, as a place of worship and connection.

 Modern archaeologists found fewer than 60 people’s remains when they opened/dug the long barrow, indicating that these sites very likely provided some other function, such as a communal place of gathering and worship for the wider community (for all significant dates and events).

With regard to the M/M line, quite incredibly, the line passes through the same field as the West Kennet Long barrow, directly between the two barrows of West and East Kennet just besides the road which passes Silbury Hill;

Likewise, a field or two further along the M/M line crosses the stone-row line leading to the circle of the Sanctuary – passing within 20 feet (6 metres), ie effectively beneath it. The Sanctuary is an English Heritage- protected stone and timber circle (consisting of 58 stones/ 62 post-holes, dating from the mid to late Neolithic era, between 3000- 2000 Bce), which are arranged in several concentric circles.

The Sanctuary is connected to Avebury village/circle by a 1.5 mile-long row of standing stones called The Avenue. (thus forming a triangle of sorts between Avebury, Silbury Hill, and the Sanctuary).

This line and circle symbolism of the Avenue and Sanctuary is reminiscent again of the 1 and 0 concept – and where the M/M line passes through the two is the point where line and circle meet. This is eerily similar to the siting of Giza on the Nile, at the ‘neck-point’ between the Nile and its Delta region, the shape of the Nile having been compared to the spine / brainstem/ head/ central nervous system of a human for at least a century now. As we have seen, the point at the back of the head is called the ‘occiput’, or ‘occipital gate’ in Tai Chi, and relates to the octave (8), as mid-point between the heavenly dimensions (12) and the earthly dimensions (4). The word ‘axis’ likewise shares the same etymological roots to octave, ox, oak (both symbols of backbone/ strength/ foundation/World Tree), oss (as in ‘bone’/ foundation), and so on. In Sumerian artworks the ‘deity’ Shamash places a pinecone (phi/pineal/tetractys/pyramid symbol?) into the occiput of the man by the Tree of Life, representing the story of the infusion of celestial genetics – and hence consciousness – into the human body, at the midway axis point between energy (spirit) and matter. The pineal gland, also called the ‘parietal eye’, while being only the size of a grain of rice, is called in Eastern terminology the ‘third eye’, and in western philosophy was called ‘the seat of the soul’ by Descartes. Likewise, the 2nd century philosopher Galen considered the pineal gland to be a central organ concerned with the function of joining the body with the higher self. It is not only placed at the lower rear of the head at the occipital and parietal areas of the skull where the brainstem joins to the brain, but was named after the pinecone. The gland is actually sited between the two hemispheres of the brain, affirming its central position upon the main axis within the body, while it is the only part of the brain which receives blood directly from the bloodstream, being placed outside of the blood/brain barrier. 

As can be seen from the Sumerian/ Assyrian stela the Tree of Life, the symbolism contained within this image is extensive and multi-levelled. (below) the site of the pineal gland within the head (the blue dot to rear of brainstem, sited directly between the left and right hemispheres of the brain); (above); the Sumerian/ Assyrian Tree of Life stela.

There are many examples and variations of this tableaux from different cities and areas throughout the three millennia Bce, ie Sumer, Assyria and Babylon, giving some indication of how much significance was placed upon the message(s) placed within the complex symbolism. Note the symbolism of the ‘ribbon’ from the man’s head, as possibly referring to the human spine and brainstem.

From the Sanctuary, the M/M line then passes across the road mentioned, (A4003) and through a whole series of English Heritage and UNESCO protected barrows within the near vicinity. It is here that the ancient road the Ridgeway has its present-day starting point. And a quite incredible cos# coincidence occurs at this exact point; as it is measured from Land’s End to where the road turning opposite the Sanctuary begins the ancient Ridgeway, this is 193.55 miles distance. Meaning that from this exact point to the Great Yarmouth line-end, the distance is 172.8 miles exactly – in other words exactly twice 86.4 miles (this being the main value or harmonic of the Sun at 864,000 miles diameter of 86,400 seconds in the 24-hour period, and so on), and likewise exactly half of 345.6 miles, another (harmonically related) value, as noted. 

That some of these cos# values are in discrete proportions to the measures of the world is a basic tenet, established in antiquity; thus the Equatorial circumference of the world is = 1000 x 360 x 365.24 ft (ie 24,902m or 40,068.5km, compared to accepted values of 24,901.4m/40,065.7 km). 

One degree of the earth’s circumference, ie 1/360 = 111.2 km, or 69.12 miles, (which also equals π x 22; so π x 11 = 34.56). 

Likewise, therefore 1/720 of the circumference = 34.56 miles; and 720 = 1 x 2 x 3 x 4 x 5 x 6 (!). This x 7 = the Earth’s + the Moon’s radii added together, ie 3960 + 1080 = 5040m; which also equals 7 x 8 x 9 x 10 ! 

Moreover, both miles and feet units are a discrete fraction of the measures of the Earth, something which gives them this added significance in all sacred sites ratios, measurements and distances; but also to time as measured as the number of seconds and hours it takes for the Earth’s full circumference to turn 360 degrees.

And as Michell and Richard Heath explore in their books, the main fractions of the Earth can be expressed by using four of the first five prime numbers, namely, 2, 3, 5, (7) and 11. All five of which are key numbers within sacred geometry, architecture and cosmic#; the first three with their square roots, and 7 and 11 as we have seen prevalent in the Great Pyramid due to being fractions of Pi (22/7), and therefore central to all questions of spherical trigonometry.

So the mile is;               = 2⁵ x 3 x 5 x 11 = 5280 feet.

The Earth’s Eq. radius is = 2³ x 3²x 5 x 11 = 3960 miles.

And the Great Pyramid   = 2⁵ x 3  x 5        = 480 feet…

That the length of a mile = 5280 feet, shows that both measures may have been derived originally in Egypt, with regard to the Great Pyramid, and the Pyramid with regard to the proportions of the Earth, as the height of the edifice measured at 480 feet, makes it exactly 1/11 of a mile in height. Likewise, the radius of the earth, 3,960 miles / 11 = 360.

The height of the pyramid is also almost exactly 1/43,200 of the polar radius of the earth, which = 3,950m/6,356km. In fact, the closest height obtained of the pyramid is 481.4 feet, which makes it 1/43,323 of the polar radius, very close to the 43.3 % ratio of the height of each half of the vertical axis of the Vesica Piscis, (ie 0.866/2),and the 432,500 mile radius (865,000mile diameter) of the sun. If the number of feet in a mile is divided by 481.4, the result is not actually thus 1/11, but 1/10.9 6. 

This, however, is almost as significant a value within astronomic terms as the harmonic of 11 – for the number of earth diameters across the diameter of the sun is 1: 109.25; the number of solar diameter’s across the Earth’s orbit at aphelion is 109.26; the number of sidereal days in 1 lunar orbit is 27.322, which x 4 = 109.2; while the nominally unrelated (to orbital period) ratio of the moon’s diameter to the earth’s is 27.322%, or conversely that of the earth to the moon is 366% !) and the size of the Moon’s circumference in kilometres is 10,920… (all figures re 109.2 from Knight and Butler, op.cit).  

Another example is that the Earth’s polar circumference = 24,883.2 miles – which is exactly 12⁵/10, ie 248,832/ 10…

Similarly reflective of the harmonies of both the planet and the form of measurement, the mean Earth radius can be expressed as 12⁶ x 7 feet (ie. 3,958.7 miles, compared to NASA measurement of 3,959miles…)

To recap, we started this section not knowing whether there would be any points of interest on the ‘energy-lines along the inner geometries’ of England. . . yet these are some of the most complex, and important sites of the Neolithic era(s) in the entire country. And these (sacred) sites could not have been better placed on and around the St Michael line if it had been marked on the ground, circa 3000 Bce !

(And as we shall consider at the end of this section, a crop circle (see left) which appeared overnight nearby Silbury Hill on 27/6/2007 has some fascinating connections to the Great Pyramid, as well as to the Octave – plus the squared circle! See the Appendix at the end of the section).

As a foot-note, the road from Silbury hill heading to Marlborough, where the Sanctuary is sited, has the traces of a Roman road running beside it at this point according to the OS map; yet another example of how the trackways and roads of antiquity were very often in broad alignment with energy-pathways. So, for example, the Ridgeway walking route, an 87 mile (139km) route from Overton Hill near Swindon, Wilts to Ivinghoe in Bedfordshire follows much the same trajectory as the M/M line, on a SW-NE diagonal bearing. In fact as we have seen, the Ridgeway Trailhead begins exactly at this key juncture of the M/M line at the Sanctuary stone row and circle besides West and East Kennet long barrows, at the turning on the other side of the road to the Sanctuary – as can be seen on the map, where the Michael line passes directly through – and travels 140 kilometres to Ivinghoe Beacon near Tring in Bedfordshire, where it is just three or so field lengths north of the M/M line… (and just a mile further along from here on the Michael line is the ‘lion (of the ground)’ symbol at Whipsnade Zoo, again, around 2-300 metres north of the line). The Ridgeway, incidentally, is described as a ‘ridgeway or ancient trackway’ which is called one of England’s ‘oldest roads’ on a BBC programme from 2012, having been used continuously for over 5000 years due primarily to its elevation and topography. The route was used (among many) by drovers coming from the south-west with their livestock to reach the markets of the Home Counties and London. It is also part of the Greater Ridgeway, or Icknield Way, a 362 mile-long collection of several ancient trackways from Lyme Regis in Dorset to Hunstanton in Norfolk.

The next place of note as the line approaches towards the centre point of England near Didcot, Oxford, is one related much more closely to modern affairs in the world, being what was the Harwell Atomic Energy Research Establishment (Harwell AERE) between 1946 and 2006. It is situated c.15miles south of Oxford, and has changed from being a military base of national importance to what is now a hi-tech science park or campus concerned with the development of space exploration technologies.

Side-bar;    The Bible and examples of ‘cosmic energy’.

This website has noted the relationship of modern physics – especially atomic/ quantum physics – to Cosmic# of the past, and the present; it is certainly arguable, if the premise of the higher-dimensional origins of the authors’ consciousness is accepted, that the ‘cosmic guides’ of the Sumerian (and then Egyptian, and Hebrew civilizations), who created the foundations of civilization, left symbolic meanings in so many of their artworks. In particular signposts referring to the structure of the atom, the energies of the Sun, and Cosmos, and the forces holding in place the planets and the stars, as well as all the different expressions of energy acting upon the Earth.

So for example, the descriptions of the creative force of God in Genesis 1.2 – “And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters” – may be read as describing the universal frequency or vibration of God’s emanations into material reality; the pulse-beat of the universe upon which all else is built. This may be something which Gurdjieff equated with the ubiquity of (the physics of) the hydrogen atom. In like manner there are countless descriptions depicting the powers of the Lord which can be read in terms of pure energy; for example the short section where the prophet Elijah is shown the glory of the Lord while sheltering in a cave in the isolated wilderness of the mountains, may be read from this perspective of different expressions within the world of God’s power;

“(and the angel of the Lord) said ‘Go forth, and stand upon the mount before the Lord. And behold, the Lord passed by, and a great and strong wind rent the mountains, and brake in pieces the rocks before the Lord; but the Lord was not in the wind: and after the wind an earthquake: but the Lord was not in the earthquake: And after the earthquake a fire; but the Lord was not in the fire: and after the fire a still small voice. And it was so, when Elijah heard it, that he wrapped his face in his mantle, and went out and stood in the entering in of the cave. And behold, there came a voice unto him, and said, What doest thou here, Elijah?” (1Kings19.11-13)

Other examples in the Old Testament include, of course, events which more than describing ‘miracles’ may be seen to be actually referring to the application of ‘universal’ powers; the destruction of the towns of Sodom and Gomorrah in a planned event which strongly resembles a nuclear explosion and consequent fallout and contamination; 

The sun was risen upon the earth when Lot entered into Zoar. Then the Lord rained upon Sodom and upon Gomorrah brimstone and fire from the Lord out of heaven. (Genesis 19.23)

In other words, the towns were destroyed by the powers of the Sun; a nuclear cataclysm, in other words.

The wife of Lot looks back at the destructive event, and is turned instantly into a pillar of salt; indicative of the flash, and radioactive fallout of nuclear bombs, as well perhaps of the end-state of solar imbalance… As noted in consideration of Lot, and his relatives Abraham, Nahor, and Terah etcetera, and as their familial lineage from Sumer indicates, this narrative may refer to the ‘powers of the sun’ existing within genetic bloodlines, which are part celestial (Anunnaki) and part earthly (human). As with material sciences, these energies can be balanced, and ‘unlock the kingdom of heaven’, or they can be the opposite. . . a point made within the inner symbolism contained within the narratives of texts such as the Epic of Gilgamesh, when he and the boatman Urshanabi journey across the ‘ocean’ (of space) to the ‘faraway’, and the ‘confluence of the rivers’ (as described in many of the versions of the Epic, dating from circa 2800 to 600 Bce).

As we shall see, the site of nuclear weapons research – the Atomic Weapons Research Establishment (AWRE) founded in 1950 – was sited primarily at Aldermaston government base, near Newbury, Berkshire; again, within close proximity (2.5m) to the Isle of Wight – Lindisfarne (N-S) energy line. (Much of the actual production of nuclear materials in the UK from the 1950’s onwards took place at several sites in the North-West, such as the Royal Ordnance Factory Risley, Springfields and Capenhurst, although it was at Aldermaston that the many bombs of the period were designed and built).

Considering the themes of Cosmic# throughout this book, which relate to (modern) questions of the structures of the atom, and nuclear energy, it could not be more apposite that the M/M line travels so close to Harwell that it passes alongside the perimeter fence – within 50 metres (0.05km!) – of  the Atomic Energy Research Establishment; and furthermore, just two or so miles from the centre of the three lines’ convergence for the whole of England.

Much of Britain’s early nuclear energy research was done predominantly at this site; this was the site of the first uranium experimental reactor in western Europe, in 1950, which was active until the 1990’s; Harwell developed parallel research capabilities throughout this period, including the country’s first working particle accelerator ‘the synchrocyclotron’ and in computing, the Harwell CADET, the first fully transistorised computer in Europe. For a more detailed look at the workings of the ‘synchrocyclotron’ still in use and development today, see the Guardian newspaper article from Feb 1^st 2014, on the Diamond Light Source, at the Rutherford Appleton Laboratory at Harwell. On the map below this is the white circular structure of Harwell, which measures 561 metres in circumference, and as a particle accelerator is considered to be the British equivalent of the Large Hadron Collider at CERN in France.

 Harwell Atomic Energy Research Establishment was at the centre of British nuclear research from the 1940’s*, up to the 1990’s, when some degree of privatisation and divergence took place, so that in 2006 it became the Harwell Science and Innovation Campus.

 This ‘campus’ is now the home to several global space research/development companies such as Airbus Defence and Space, Lockheed Martin, Thales Alenia Space, and also the European Space Agency’s first office in Britain, at Fermi Avenue Harwell. Indeed, the Harwell Space Cluster is the ‘gateway to the UK space sector’, and includes the UK Space Age, the government funded organisation among other leading bodies. . . (see the Guardian article ‘The Great British race to space’, Dec.27^th 2021).

*(It was at Harwell, in the 1940’s/early 50’s, that the nuclear scientist Klaus Fuchs worked; having entered Britain as a (communist) refugee from the Nazis, he continued his training as a physicist, joining the Tube Alloys programme in May 1941, from where, in time, he became one of the British scientists working at the Manhattan Project at Los Alamos. After WW2 he returned to Britain, where he became head of the Theoretical Physics Division at Harwell AERE… both he and Melita Norwood passed essential UK and US nuclear research data to the Soviet Union, via Agent Sonia, in various locations around S.Oxford. 

Sonia (Ursula Kuczynski), according to Chapman Pincher, “was destined to play a truly historic role, and become, in my view, the most influential female secret agent of all time, with lasting impact on British, American and Soviet defence strategy” (p.47,2009). Indeed Fuchs was instrumental in adverting Stalin to the existence of an atomic weapons programme in the west, as early as August 1941 (p.134); the activities of passing state secrets to ‘Sonia’ (one of the ‘foremost radio transmitter and couriers in Britain for many years’) continued even though she was ‘investigated’ by MI5’s counter-espionage officer Roger Hollis, later the intelligence service’s chief (Hollis, not Sonia) – see Chapman Pincher (2009) for more on this, and the Soviet GRU/KGB spying activities during WW2 and afterwards, in Oxford, at Harwell from 1943, and the neighbouring Blenheim Palace where British MI5 and American (OSS) intelligence agencies were based during the war. This was in addition to Cambridge university etc, where the Cambridge Five/ KGB spy-ring had its roots from the 1930’s and 40’s when intellectual sympathies with Communism were strong in Europe). 

A curious note is the name of the first British state programme designing nuclear weapons; Tube Alloys. This corresponds closely to the name of the son of Lamech (thus the great-grandson of Cain) in Genesis4.22, Tubal-Cain. The coincidence is that Tubal-Cain is stated to be; “an instructer of every artificer in brass and iron” – as his two brothers are the said to be the ‘fathers of all those’ in other respects; strongly parallel to the threefold division of the world between the three sons of Noah – Japheth, Ham and Cush. Thus Tubal-Cain is the ‘father of all those’ concerned with metal-working, technology, weapons of war and so on. This links him thematically to a series of characters and events which contain strands of meaning linked with the ‘powers of the world’… from Cain, his forebear and the first murderer, to king Solomon and his friend king Hiram of Tyre, the master craftsman Hiram and the uses of metals in the Temple, such as the Brasen Sea within it, and the gold brought by the navies of the Phoenicians, from around the world to Tyre and Sidon (possibly including tin from Cornwall, as noted, obtained to create bronze in the second millennium Bce); the Nehushtan of Moses (the ‘brasen serpent’, whose name also means ‘the knower of secrets’), and so on …  themes from the earliest civilizations of Sumer and the wider Near East concerning the (celestial) wisdom ‘given to mankind by the gods’ – or in Hebrew mythology, in some instances by the ‘Nephilim’, as described in 1Enoch7/8 and the Bible’s myth of the Tower of Babel. So while biographers of the various people involved in its creation state that the name Tube Alloys was chosen for its bland anonymity, it does in fact appear to have some connection to highly relevant biblical themes !

So, considering the coincidence of the proposed solar and cosmic energies which vitalize the Earth via ley-lines and energy-fields passing through the adjoining field, within 50 metres of the largest research establishment in Britain dedicated to harnessing and studying the ‘energies of the sun’ and light, what does the proximity of the Michael and Mary line and Didcot centre to Harwell perhaps actually indicate? 

Such a strong coincidence could plausibly be argued to be the result of synchronicity; or alternatively, of subconscious attraction to zones of high energy; or even, possibly, from (subconscious) guidance from the ‘higher dimensions’, for reasons unknown to us. To name but one well-known example (out of many) of such ‘serendipity’ from the annals of science; the conceptual breakthrough Sir Francis Crick had concerning DNA’s structure, which resulted in he and Watson becoming Nobel Prize winners in 1962; this occurred after reportedly taking a dose of LSD, and ‘seeing’ two serpents which intertwined, and realising the potential application to his work… (presumably his mind was turned towards his research while in the altered state of consciousness). This conceptual advance may accurately be described as ‘world-changing’ – and therefore possibly the recipient of (hidden?) ‘higher-dimensional’ inspiration, from what might be categorised as internal (subjective) or external (objective) sources. In addition, differentiating between inspiration and the imagination is never straightforward, in that the deeper layers of the subconscious are highly difficult to perceive clearly without distortions. Another example of such ‘subconscious inspiration’ is Kekule’s visualization of the (hexagonal) structure of benzene, in a visual image experienced in a ‘dream-state’ while resting in his study. . . another good example of a key intellectual breakthrough in a research subject coming via the subconscious/ intuitive levels of the mind.

The classics of antiquity maintained this form of receptive inspiration was the ‘gift of the gods’; in many instances, (bearing in mind the ‘non-rational’ nature of higher consciousness), it came through the agency of dreams; as already noted in the dream of Brutus in the Temple of Diana in the Mediterranean which led him to England), and similarly at the Delphic Oracle…

Bearing in mind the ‘impetus’ on mankind, at this crucial stage in its evolution, to create sustainable ‘non-material’ energy sources, (before life on earth suffers catastrophic consequences from long-term pollution and resources exploitation), is it possible the siting of such energy research centres alongside the most important lines and node points within the world-grid could lead to more effective results and progress? If it is, which contradicts no known laws of physics or reality, indeed merely posits that strong energies affect matter and its associated energy-fields, differences might therefore be expected in the (long-term) processes taking place within such sites; as well, conceivably, as the scientists working for long periods of time within the centres ! This approach reflects the ‘Eastern’ understanding that certain places are sacred in character, and are somehow significantly different to the vast majority of (‘ordinary’) areas. That key points on the earth’s surface are where the world’s most sacred sites or cities are located, such as Jerusalem, Lhasa, and so on, is again a reflection of the orderly nature of the planet’s energy-fields, which are arrayed according to geometric principles around the earth, in harmonic relation with key values such as the speed of light… values which have dictated the growth and organisation of virtually all life on Earth, as well as the human body in particular.

And as such, as the various references and images in antiquity (such as in 1Enoch, the Bible, Sumerian and Egyptian myths) to angels with ‘measuring cords’ imply, such significant geodetic centres would most definitely be of concern to what might be termed ‘higher beings’, or ‘consciousnesses’, working to what agenda(s) can only be guessed at. But whatever the underlying dynamic which may cause the siting of central research facilities near to the major node-points and lines of the world’s primary energy grid, some form of significant relationship appears to exist between the two.

Indeed, one of America’s equivalent facilities, Oak Ridge Research Centre, Tennessee, and in Russia, the research facility at Kurchatov near Moscow, are sited with similar possibly significant relationships to Giza and the Earth’s terrestrial/ telluric geometries and energy fields. The related sites of the development and testing of the world’s first nuclear bombs, at Los Alamos and White Sands Missile Range in New Mexico, USA also contain some interesting features…

So it may in fact be worth examining briefly therefore the relationships of these various major energy/atomic research sites around the world, where some of the most important nuclear research has been done since WWII in the USA, Russia and the UK. 

Obviously many other sites are of great importance and relevance to all their own countries, for example, the Lawrence Livermore Laboratories in the US; but these foremost examples will suffice to indicate there is some unresolved or undocumented relationship between the earth’s speculated energy lines/ fields/ sites, and modern high technology research programmes and centres – particularly those concerned with energies of the cosmos, be that atomic fission, fusion or otherwise, as science makes such rapid progress in the 21st century. . . 

And the key to placing these sites may be best indicated by considering their relationship to the ‘centre of the world’ in terms of the landmasses of the continents; Giza, in Egypt, home to the site of the Great Pyramid and other pyramids, and the Sphinx, is shown here at the centre of the world’s continents in terms of the hexagonal geometries of the cube. 

Additionally, the 30^th Parallel runs from west to east parallel to the Equator through the centre point of Giza. That it is to where the sun rises on the horizon may be argued to be pointing to an energy-line ‘tied’ around the earth, as symbolized by the Ouroboros mythology in later Greek civilization, and related symbols and concepts.

In continuance of the Sun and light connected symbology of the site, the Sphinx – almost certainly the oldest monolithic structure/ work of art on the Giza site, by a matter of millennia, indeed probably the oldest statuary artwork in the entire world, dating possibly to the sixth or seventh millennia Bce (!) – is oriented directly East, looking along the 30^th parallel which circles around the earth, towards the point where the Sun rises on the horizon. This line runs through Israel, (Jerusalem, long considered the ‘navel of the earth’/ flag with hexagonal/ solstice-related Star of David), Jordan (ancient site of Petra), Saudi Arabia (home to Mecca), Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan, Pakistan, India, Nepal (flag with rayed sun in lower half), Tibet (flag with Sun in the corner), China (Qing dynasty flag with dragon and Sun), and at the furthest point east, Japan (flag called The Circle of the Sun).

Moreover, it can be seen the following religions arose in the nations the line passes through; Judaism, and Christianity (Israel); Islam (Saudi Arabia); Hindu, Sikh and Jain religions (India); Tibetan religion; Buddhism (India, Tibet, China and Japan). Additionally (!) Sumer, the first true civilization in human history as far as is known, from the 5^th millennium Bce, and the related Akkadian, Babylonian and Assyrian civilizations arose in Iraq /Mesopotamia (in the region of the Persian Gulf near to Basra at 31°N, (where Babylonian mythology of 800 Bce stated the Anunnaki deity Oannes came from when he began civilization in Sumer), and where the first city-states of Ur, Larsa, Eridu, Uruk, Girsu and so on were founded – often in land reclaimed from the alluvial and fertile marsh areas of the delta near to the Gulf. 

The meaning of sinew as something which is a connecting line which ‘turns around a central axis’, and ‘ligament’ as a similar sort of function is related closely to this subject (the word ligature means to tie or bind; as does the word ’sphinx’, in the form of ‘asphyxiate’, or similar; in confirmation of the theme of the ‘serpent’-like energy-line indicated by the Sphinx, the Latin for lizard stems from ligate as does ligature; as sinuous and sine-wave are related etymologically to sinew, from Proto-Indo-European times onwards. 

These inherent meanings contained within the Sphinx and the line its gaze follows finds confirmation in its epithet of ‘the lion of the ground’, a term which is also found in the Epic of Gilgamesh in reference to the snake which steals the ‘Plant of Life’ from Gilgamesh as he bathes in a pool in the evening – the pool, plus the form used of the plant indicate the telluric nature of the energies contained within the symbol – and as this is after Gilgamesh has affixed weights to his feet and descended down into the depths of the Apsu, the ‘abyss’ to gain the Plant of Life, further emphasizes the close connections between the Earth’s surface, subterranean water-courses, organic life and energy lines of the cosmic system of life which exist within the heavens and earth.

Indeed, the concept of the ‘sinew’ as link between force and form, or energy and matter is so central that the word ‘Zion’ may stem from forms of ‘sinew’ such as ‘sionu’ or ‘sineuwe’ found in early European languages and PIE (*sai, to bind) and Sanskrit (‘syati’ – to tie or bind). Related also incidentally to PIE of ‘s-nego’ from which came ‘snake’, and ‘Nagas’, as well as by the time of Greek and Latin, s-neu meaning ‘nerve’, and likewise therefore ‘neuron’, from the same. The Greek ‘neura’ also meant sinew or bowstring.  

So all these meanings of antiquity may be said to be implied in the concept of the Sphinx, which creates or represents a (solar) energy line – a sinew – which circles around the entire earth, turning as it does in a spiral (or sinewave) around the linear axis. A curious coincidence is the long-term reference to China as ‘Sino–’ (such as in Isaiah49.12 in the Bible, which refers to the ‘land of Sinim’), considering the nature of the 30^th parallel line passing through Giza then China to the east, and the national symbol of China being the sinuous dragon, from antiquity onwards…)

So the key here for assessing the coordinates of the research centres is to compare them not to the Greenwich meridian, but to Giza in Egypt, as the ‘zero’ or ‘Prime meridian’, *(See C.Wilson/ The Atlantis Mystery, for a more detailed examination of the relationship between world ‘sacred sites’ and Giza as the Prime Meridian.) 

The complex at Giza is located at; 29.9792°N / 31.134°E, a short distance south of the 30^th Parallel;

To return to the research stations, the figures for the following four centres, (plus Didcot) which we shall examine individually are;

As we shall see shortly, the angle of 51.57° or so is ~0.2° difference to the 51.74 – 84° of the Great Pyramid at Giza, which was used as the gradient of the slope due to its relationship to both Pi and Phi. (And as the Circle and Square section showed, 51.8° is the angle of the Squared Circle sections ie 61.81 but in relation to the 90° quarter of the circle – so that the other angle still equals 38.19°, or ϕ minor…)

So, Harwell, and Didcot and Wittenham, (and London) are all situated around this highly significant latitude around 51 degrees north, between the Equator and the North Pole. Furthermore, the Harwell site is exactly 21.6° North of Giza; the number 216 is one of the central numbers in Cosmic #, being linked to 108, 432, 864 and so on, (as well as each of the 12 ‘eras’ of the Precession cycle lasting circa 2160 years).

Further, in relation to the circumference of the globe, 360/21.6 = 16.666. (90/21.6 = 4.166 ; which x 4 = 16.666) – so both ratios give the proportion found by dividing 1/ 6 (0.1666), as the section on the hexagonal geometries of the Vesica examined – ie. each side of a hexagon of perimeter 100 units measures 16.66 units. (see Tree of Life table and lengths within Squared Circle for 4.16, 8.33, 16.66 etc). 

Of note for Didcot’s latitude of 51.57°, Cos 51.615 = 0.62 (~ϕ) and Cos 51.74 (the angle of the Great Pyramid) = 0.619 (~ϕ), with 51.74° being located roughly a 0.13° of distance further north; 9.2 miles along the North-South Isle of Wight – Lindisfarne line. Sin 51.84 = 0.999, and Sin⁻¹ 0.777 = 51.8° also! 

So does this 51.74°N point, (the Phi-linked angle of the Pyramid) at around nine miles north of Didcot centre, mark any apparently significant latitude on the map/line? It is unsurprising to find Oxford itself begins at this latitude – and on the N/S axis, the energy-line runs directly through Oxford University; St. Edmund’s Library/Hall is built on top of it! This point is at 51.75°N. We will examine this in the Isle of Wight – Holy Isle, Lindisfarne section next.

To highlight the centrality of this value, if the Speed of Light is divided by this #, we obtain; 

186,282/ 51.74 5 = 3600 (!)  

186,282 / 1.272 01965 (√ϕ) / 400 = 366.1146 272. 

The first example is significant in that 3,600 is the number of seconds in an hour, the number of (angular) seconds in a degree, and even, according to Sitchin the number of years in one orbit of the Anunnaki’s planet – Niburu – around the sun, (with c.50-70 years of that within the bounds of the solar system). 

This cycle was therefore made the basis of the heavenly counting of the Sumerian myths by the ‘gods’, so that lengths of time from pre-Deluge times when the Anuna were gradually creating ‘homo sapiens’ and the foundations of civilization were numbered by this measure (called sars in the myths of Sumer). The King Lists of Sumer likewise counted the incredibly long periods of time the predominantly celestial rulers of the lands lived for in ‘sars’ of 3,600 years each. The introduction to mankind of the sexagesimal system based on seconds and minutes of 60 was because of the optimal nature of the system for measuring the circles of both time and space on Earth, while linking to the celestial period of Niburu too, in a way that harmonized the workings (or ‘gear-wheels’) of ‘heaven and earth’. (see Sitchin’s ‘When Time Began’, p.380).

The second example links the speed of light and the square root of phi (√ϕ) to the length of the sidereal year of 366 days, the percentage of the diameter of the Earth to the moon (366%), as well as the Michael and Mary line at 366.35 miles… as well as including the significant value of 400, central within analysis of the Squared Circle. As other researchers have noted, the number of 400 appears to have several connections within the geometries of the sun and the moon; for example, the sun is 400 times larger than the moon, and also 400 times further away, so that the two are equal in size as viewed from earth; it is this ‘coincidence’ that makes eclipses of the sun by the moon so incredible, with the ‘diamond ring’ effect. There are several other 400 harmonics between the three main planets, Sun, Earth, and moon, as Knight and Butler have noted in their books. 

Regarding the degrees difference in longitude between Harwell and Giza as the Prime Meridian (0° W/E), Harwell is 32.444°W, and Didcot at 3 or so miles east is 32.36°W. So, at a mid-point between the two is the 32.4° mark.

Why is this important?  360/32.4 = 11.11111 (!) (And 360/32.36 = 11.1248).

If we double 1.62 x 2 = 3.24, we then find that 3.24 x (α) 137.035999 = 444, 1.62 x α = 222, and .81 x α = 111.

Also that 360 / 1.62 = 222.222.

90/32.36   =  2.781   x2  = 5.562

90/32.4     = 2.7777   ”   = 5.555 (100/18) and 2.777 = 100/36 (!)

90/32.44   = 2.774     ”   = 5.548 *

*Again, the Tree of Life shows the relevance of 2.777 as a sub-division of the #s in the Tree/Vesica Piscis. (see Geometry section).

And 5.555 is 1/3 of 16.66 (100/6, or 360/21.6). Notably, the latitude of the Harwell site is 21.6 degrees north of Giza – or 360/16.666 (which actually equals 21.6 0000 864 ..!) Equally curious, if we divide the difference to Giza of this site’s co-ordinates in terms of longitude and latitude, the result is; 32.4 / 21.6 = 1.5 exactly, or 3/2. 

Alternatively, 21.6/ 32.4 = 2/3, or 0.666666.

To show the relatedness of these values on so many levels in Cos#, we can look at Precession – as a result of the equatorial bulge of the Earth, and the gravitational forces of the Sun and Moon acting upon it, the axis of the Earth moves in its own cycle at the celestial poles. This has the effect of making the Sun move against the backdrop of the stars (marked at dawn on the Spring equinox) in a complete circle over a long period of time; approximately 72 years per degree. So each 1/12^th of the circle, constituting a ‘house’ of the zodiac of the backdrop of constellations takes 30 x 72 years, ie approximately 2,160 years to complete. Interestingly this length of time can be expressed in terms of the harmonic cos# values which are so central as square roots, and the first three numbers of the Fibonacci sequence; 2⁶x 3⁴x 5, – or 5184 x 5 – (!) Additionally, 216 days = 5,184 hours (!), (and 180 days = 4,320 hours). In an unusual coincidence, on the Voyager1 Golden Record’s images of the human embryo’s development, the two figures used are 3456000 seconds (40 days), and 5184000 seconds (60 days)…

– while the Precession period also appears to have connections to the hexagonal geometries of 1(00)/6, and the 432 harmonic/radius of the sun…

  25 920 x 16.666 = 432,000 (!!)

  25 920 / 16.666 = 1555.2 

                 1555.2 = 777.7 x 2

                            or 518.4 x 3 (thus 777.6 / 518.4 = 3/2, or 1.5)

                            or 222.2 x 7 

                            or 432 x 3.60, and so on….  

Lastly, 5184 = 72², being as such the square of the key value of 72 (144/2, 216/3, 288/4, 360/5 and so on).

The backwards apparent movement of the Sun each spring equinox changes one degree every 72 years (as the Sun precesses). Several writers, such as G.Strachan believe this astronomical feature is almost certainly encoded into the Bible with Moses, Aaron, and the seventy elders ascending Mount Sinai to receive the Ten Commandments, as well as the seventy nations of the world arising from the sons of Noah. Regarding 1° of Precession being just under 72 years, (as the bible metaphor possibly indicates) it is interesting to note that (C) 186,282/ 71.868 0 5555 = 2592.000 ; which equals half of 5184, or one-tenth of the 25,920 year Precession cycle.

Numerically related is the fact that the √5 = 2.236 (from which ϕ can be derived as 1.1181 + 0.5, etc)

and so √5 + 1 = 3.236. In other words, 3.236 = ϕ (1.618) x 2. 

Further related to this is that the √5 + 3 = 5.236; the ERC (Egyptian Royal Cubit) is 52.36cm ie ϕ² x 2 (2.618 x 2 = 5.236; or  

π / 6 = 0.5236m, x 5 = 2.618, showing the π : ϕ² ratio of 6:5 – (the cos# ratio encoded in the Bible as 12:10*, as the Tribes of Israel become with the division of the twelve tribes into ten of Israel and two of Judah). 

In this way π x100 ie 314.159/ 52.359 = 6.000 100. (Or more simply, π/ Egyptian royal cubit 0.52359m = 6; meaning a hexagon within a circle of diameter 100 units will have 6 sides of 52.36 units each around its circumference)… something surely beyond coincidence, considering the high levels of consciousness present within the Egyptian civilization’s works in antiquity.

*indicating in this way, perhaps, the workings of the numerical systems of the ‘heavens’ in duodecimal terms, and those of the ‘material world’ and Earth in decimal ones, (as characterised by the symbol of the tetractys).

So, the latitude being 32.36°W of Giza is a clearly significant value, in terms of the energy grid of the planet centred upon Giza – for any world-wide energy grid, or ‘net’ derived from gravitational fields, sunlight and higher-dimensional energies of the cosmos will almost certainly function in patterns of geometric harmonies. This understanding of reality was at the heart of cosmic# in antiquity, and was based upon the key values we have seen in the introductory sections. 

If the ratio of the Giza complex’s latitude to the sphere of Earth is examined, the value obtained is as follows;

360/ 31.13° = 11.5 644.

The inverse of which is; 1/11.5 644 = 0.0 864 72 …! A midpoint between the 864 harmonic and 86.6% of Vesica, and the closest value obtained for the diameter of the Sun, which is c.864,750 – 865,000 miles across.

Lastly, the ratio we have seen within 90/ 32.4 of 2.777, ie 100/36 or half of 100/18 (5.5555rec); while 5.555r x 7.77r x 10 = 

432. 098765432 05555 (!) – a number closely associated to the Sun’s harmonic geometries. 

So some very interesting relationships are shown to exist between these Cos# significant values, which tend occur frequently where energies connect with(in) the material plane. 

The key figure of 32.4 (3.6 x 9, 10.8 x 3, etc) also doubles up to 64.8, then 129.6 (216 x 6 = 1296; the number of the Hindu timespan of 1,296,000 years; 90 x144 = 1296); then 259.20 (see Precession = 25,920 years) and then 518.4 (72² = 5184), (with the angle of the Great Pyramid as we have seen a close 51.74 – 51.81°). In support of the harmonies present within the latitudes under consideration, 360 / 51.84 = 6.94444; which x 4 = 27.7777, x 6 = 41.666, and x 8 = 55.5555. 

 So, it can be surmised that as well as being individually significant in relation to Giza, the longitude of Harwell (and Didcot centre) west from GPM are in 3:2 proportion with the latitude (north from Giza). 

32.4 : 21.6  =  3:2 where 1 = 10.8 and 4 = 43.2. 

And 3:2 is the ratio of the musical fifths central as a proportion within the architecture of many sacred buildings, such as the Temple of Solomon/ Jerusalem as outlined in the Bible.

Coincidentally or otherwise, it is at Genesis 3.24:

So he drove out the man; and he placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubims, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life.

A highly significant passage placed within the text at a cosmic# position, something the authors of the Bible can be seen to have done repeatedly and consciously. (See the Bible section for more on this). The passage may relate to both Orion, as the ‘flaming sword which turns every way’, and to the ecliptic of the Milky Way, which is visible in the night sky as the ‘arch’ of the galaxy, and was considered by civilizations such as the Egyptians to be the ‘way of the soul’ when released from the body. 

This may be offered as a theory for the great significance Orion had in many cultures in antiquity. This is inferable from the fact that Orion the Hunter was from the earliest eras depicted with a sword hanging from his belt – and the constellation in its entirety turns through 90 degrees during the course of the night hours between midnight and dawn. So this constellation may hold the meaning – and in antiquity a literal and symbolic role – of being a gateway between the solar system and the heavens, (or possibly the centre of the Milky Way from where the solar system originated billions of years ago and to which it is still gravitationally linked, being located in the galaxy’s Orion Arm). In this sense the Milky Way’s line through the night sky might equally be considered to be a point of equilibrium, or balance within the heavens… reflecting in this way ‘the way of the tree of life’ from which the solar system grew, and derived its initial materials and energies (and rotational orbit), much as the female yoni are represented by the axial shape of the Vesica . . . 

Footnote – London’s Trafalgar Square is at located at 51.51° (~300metres), which is therefore the angle of the sun’s rays at midday on the summer solstice, June 21st, (ie the highest angle it can rise to at that latitude. Thus, this is the same angle of sunlight or shadow as the slopes of the Great Pyramid (±0.2°); a fact which Nelson’s Column illustrates if considered as a gnomon, or sun-dial, (highlighting one of the early interests of the astronomer, geometer, mathematician, physicist and architect Sir Christopher Wren, as well perhaps one of the reasons obelisks and pillars were so widely revered in ancient Egypt, and England!) – *See Adrian Gilbert – Building a New Jerusalem. Incidentally, π x 51.51 = 161.8 2 (ie. ϕ …)

Oak Ridge, Tennessee:             35.995°N / 6.02°N   of Giza       84.24° W / 115.36°W of Giza

 

In the race to develop nuclear weapons during WW2 in the early 1940’s, the United States pioneered the process of the (electromagnetic isotope separation) refinement of enriched Uranium at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory, Tennessee.

The centre was created as part of the Manhattan Project, most of which was transferred from Manhattan to Oak Ridge in Tennessee; and is accordingly considered the ‘birthplace of the atomic bomb’. Producing the Uranium-235 which was used to make the Hiroshima-nuclear bomb, ‘Little Boy’, amazingly over 14,000 tonnes of silver were used in construction of electromagnetic coils during the process, due to war-time shortages of copper; equally incredibly the US Treasury supplied the silver from its bank vaults, and it was returned with no loss at the end of the Manhattan Project! (see Wikipedia; Y-12 National Security Complex). 

As with Harwell, Oak Ridge laboratories have since their inception been at the heart of their nation’s research ‘portfolios, so that today Oak Ridge is among the top three research centres in the USA, in terms of government funding, a fact reflected by the size of the site.

As the map shows, Oak Ridge research laboratory/centre is therefore situated virtually on top of the (significant) 36th Parallel, at an infinitesimal 0.05°, or 300 metres, distance south of it.

This is very similar to the siting of Giza itself, which is a mere 0.03 of a degree off the 30th Parallel North, possibly sited consciously by the original designers of the complex in Egypt, as noted earlier. Oak Ridge is therefore a very ‘neat’ 6.02° north of Giza; what a coincidence considering the importance such geometric divisions of the 360° sphere of the Earth hold, as well as the 30^th and 36^th Parallels.

So 90/36° = 2.5, and 360/36 = 10, to indicate the geometric significance of the 36th Parallel. 

Some researchers maintain that the builders of the Great Pyramid encoded values concerning the 36th Parallel into its dimensions in various ways, for reasons relating to the latitude’s circumference in proportion to the Equatorial circumference…

For example, Richard Heath states that it may well be because it is only at this latitude that ‘the winter and summer solstice sun rise exactly 30° south and north of east, and set similarly in the west. To an ancient eye therefore, this latitude was significant for expressing the perfect location for twelve-fold centres’. (p141, op cit).

Concerning the relationship between Latitude and the circumference of the Earth (360°), and between the Equator and the Pole (90°) as seen, the latitudes, and difference between Oak Ridge and Giza – 30°, 36°, and 6° – are all discrete fractions of both 90 and 360 – with connections to the basis of the sexagesimal system too – increasing the likelihood of points of resonance.

Regarding its longitude, Oak Ridge is also close to 115.4°W of Giza (as the 0° Prime Meridian); the ratio of100/86.6% = 115.47, although degrees are a proportion of 360, not 100.

(We have already seen at numerous points how central the geometries related to these 86.4 – 86.6 values are, in so many aspects of reality particularly with regard to the Sun and sunlight (and time and space…) So in the key symbol the Vesica Piscis’ mid-line =   1.732/2 = 86.6% of circle diam. = √3 /2. The size of Sun = c.864-865,000 miles/diameter. And there are 86,400 seconds in a day; a result of how the day is divided, like degrees of space, into hours and seconds of 60 units each, since the Sumerian era.

(The French Revolution attempt to reshape the diurnal sexagesimal 24-hour day into a decimal system of 10 hours of 100 minutes of 100 seconds each, with no proportional relationship to the measures of the Earth or the heavens, was a short-lived reform!)

The metre is likewise believed by some researchers to have little intrinsic connection to the solar system or earth (although some relationships and proportions in the solar system do appear to be clarified by using kilometres as the unit of measure, according to Knight and Butler) – whereas time and space are apparently best linked by the sexagesimal system, and by using the long-standing unit of miles, created in antiquity as the key geodetic unit of measurement, by either the Egyptians or the Sumerians. 

A curious note, of synchronicity or whatever it might be called, is the presence at Oak Ridge of the main connecting route of Bethel Valley Road, (between the plant and the river on the map, from White Wing gate to Solway gate and Edgemoor gate). As we see in the Bible section, and have mentioned in this, Bethel – meaning ‘The house of the Lord’ – is the name Jacob gives to the site where he dreams of a ladder stretching between the heavens and the earth (Genesis 28.11-19)… in other words a higher-dimensional omphalos point, or ‘gateway’; 

“And Jacob awaked out of his sleep, and he said, Surely the Lord is in this place; and I knew it not. . . And he was afraid, and said, How dreadful is this place! This is none other but the house of God, and this is the gate of heaven. And he called the name of that place Bethel; but the name of that city was called Luz at first ”.

Coincidentally the word Luz has meanings in Hebrew and Arabic languages relating to the neck, and the top of the spine, which is believed in some Islamic circles to be a point where the body is connected to ‘the soul’, supporting therefore the inner symbolism of the passage. A much more commonly accepted meaning of Luz however is ‘almond-tree’. Whether this may be interpreted or connected with other esoteric meanings from Near Eastern mythology is unclear, but is always a possibility; indeed the almond tree is sometimes known as the ‘Tree of Life’ in Hebrew religion, and the seven-pointed candle holder, the menorah is said to be based on the almond tree, while the Vesica Piscis has been likened to an almond also, at some periods of history.

The well at which Jacob is resting when he has this experience is a short distance on his way from Beersheba, or the ‘Well of Seven’ (Gen 28.10), pointing to the ‘cosmic’ and mathematical nature of the energies present at that site, as the metaphor of the well, and other water-sources in the Bible, is of the ‘living waters’ of the Lord (especially within the Earth) – while the Seven indicates those energies adherence to the Laws of the Octave, as are those of light, sound, the Periodic Table, and so on. So the presence of the Bethel Valley/ road at Oak Ridge, (itself a name with etymological links to the heaven-earth ‘world-tree’ axis of such gateway points), for the site concerned with deriving the energies of the Sun on earth, is extremely apt. The (sacred) oak at Shechem (meaning ‘shoulder’ or similar), at Genesis12.6/35.4-8/Joshua 24.1-27, is an example of the Bible’s connecting the two concepts of sacred places and the higher dimensional energies present at them, and the support provided by the bones, spine and back in symbolic terms…a relationship indicated by the Latin word for bone; ‘oss’, again looking probably to be based on meanings associated with ‘strength’, ‘axis’, or ‘foundation’.

Los Alamos, New Mexico;  35.85° N. of Equator/  5.88°N of Giza        106.30° W. of Greenwich/ 137.43°W of Giza

In addition to Oak Ridge being in a potentially significant geometric relationship to Giza Meridian, is the site where the atomic bomb was tested and built, prior to being dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki; namely Los Alamos in the New Mexico region in the South-West of the United States.

And again, similarly to Oak Ridge, Los Alamos is markedly close (0.15°) to the 36th Parallel – and thus also a 0.13° margin of being 6°N of Giza. So these two centres of atomic research vital to America’s nuclear programme since WW2 have little more than 8 miles or so distance from their lines of latitude, despite there being 1232.14 miles between the two laboratories on an east-west axis. (ie the distance from Los Alamos northwards to the 36^th parallel, which is at the Santa Clara Indian Reservation is 8.32 miles).

As mentioned already the 36th parallel is argued to hold important significance to Giza, and to associated world energy-grid geometries/harmonics. Regarding the Longitudinal difference to GPM, 137.43° is marginally close in value to the Fine Structure Constant – the inverse of Alpha (α) is the value 1/137.0359992.  But in fact, considering the spherical geometries of the Earth mentioned, it may be more relevant that –

360° / 137.43° = 2.619

only .0009 difference to ϕ² – 2.6181 – itself in 5:6 (or 10:12) ratio to π. In effect a distance of circa 3 miles from the ϕ² point.

And incredibly, it transpires that using Giza as the Prime Meridian leads to the ϕ point of the globe from Giza being;

360 / ϕ   (1.61803399)              =  222.49°   (east of Giza)

360 / ϕ ² (2.61803399)              = 137.508° (west of Giza)

(thus ‘coincidentally’ highlighting the fact that 137.5° is the Golden Angle in the phyllotaxis of many trees and plants (the geometric arrangement of the growth of their leaves), a property which has evolved to ensure optimal spacing of leaves to receive a maximum amount of sunlight; many plants have ratios or spirals involving 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21 and so on, using the Fibonacci numbers in particular – thus a 3/8 ratio will see the 8th leaf occupy the same position as the first leaf in the course of 3 complete spirals/ turns.

Note though ‘imperfect’, figure a. has 21 clockwise spirals, and figure c. has 34 anti-clockwise spirals, numbers in the Fibonacci sequence…

Much the same as the circle of fifths sees a harmonic progression between notes over the course of deriving the twelve notes of the octave over the ‘spiral’ of seven octaves/ cycles. This highlights the mathematical basis of music and the octave, and their applications to the processes of life itself, (as well as the relationships between the higher dimensions and matter, as the stars, the planets, the sun, earth and moon are categorised in the Ray of Creation described by Gurdjieff).

So, if Giza is at 31.13°E then what is at the ϕ point?

–>  253.62° east of Greenwich? ie. 222.49°E of Giza/Prime Meridian?

Or 106.38° west of Greenwich      137.51°W of Giza/    “         “ 

ie  360 -222.49  = 137.51° W of GPM = 106.37°W of Greenwich (+ 31.13° Greenwich-Giza) …

Using CalcMap we find the following;

Firstly, in New Mexico,   at 33.71°N, 106.37°W the White Sands Missile Range* And next, 240 miles north of White Sands,

and still in New Mexico, at 35.88°N, 106.30°W Los Alamos National Laboratories ! (ie. more than one hundred miles north of Trinity).

White Sands Missile Testing Centre is the extensive desert area which was designated a US military testing ground in 1945; just seven days later the first ever atomic bomb was detonated on the grounds there, on 16th July, at the Trinity site. (Post-war testing was extensive, for military, and NASA rockets. Around thirty of the Operation Paperclip scientists such as Werner Von Braun, Kurt Debus etc who worked for NASA were based at the White Sands facilities from this time, and many of the V-1 and V-2 rockets of Germany which were brought with them were later research-fired at this site). 

In addition to the numerous missile programmes tested over the decades there, in 1982 the NASA space shuttle Colombia landed at White Sands /Northrop air-strip. The entire White Sands site can be seen to extend north-south for around 200 miles, and is 60 or more miles wide.

That the latitude of the Los Alamos site is a discrete fraction of the distance between the Equator and the Pole is shown by; 90 / 35.88 = 2.508, as 90 / 36 = 2.5, while as noted, the longitude of106.30 + 31.13 = 137.43 west of GPM, which is in 1:2.619 proportion to 360 degrees… 

So effectively, the refinement/design of the first ever nuclear bomb, then bomb construction and testing/measuring of explosive power, was achieved predominantly at Oak Ridge and Los Alamos, two locations with strong cos# significance for their positions on the earth’s surface, on both the N-S (Pole-Equator) and E-W (Giza) axes; and was then detonated within just four miles of the ‘golden angle’ of the Earth’s surface from Giza. The map below shows the Trinity test-site within WSMR, at 33.677°N, 106.475°W of Greenwich.

Another interesting point is that Trinity test-site is almost exactly 3.69° north of Giza, (at 3.69 78°). In the Notes and Numbers, and the Bible sections we looked at the significance of 369, as indicated by both the words of Nikolai Tesla, the Enneagram of Gurdjieff where 3 6 and 9 are the three ‘centres’ of the nine-pointed symbol, and in the number symbolism within the four Gospels surrounding the Crucifixion of Jesus, where the time is noted at the 3^rd, 6^th and 9^th hours… 

So the multiplication 123.456789 x 3 = 370.0370367 can be expressed as; 

123           x 3 = 369

.456789    x 3 = 1.370367 

A value remarkably close to the Fine Structure Constant; in fact (alpha) 1.37035999206 / 3 = 0.4567 8666 4 (!) 

So some interesting possibilities are raised by the difference in latitude between Trinity, New Mexico and Giza.

The Trinity test-site at 106.47°W, (the small circle directly left of the red marker point two-tenths across from the left margin!). The red marker is the ‘Golden Angle’ of 360/φ point of the globe from Giza, ie 137.501°W of GPM.

All this geodetic information related to the Golden Angle of 137.501° is helpful for visualizing a world energy grid which encircles the earth in a geometrically coherent pattern, with numerous significant harmonic points; the keystone of which (among many incredible points) lays at the centre of the world’s landmass, and since the beginning of civilization one of its most mysterious and sacred architectural sites; the Great Pyramid complex at Giza… 

So do the figures around White Sands and New Mexico show any other significant values?  Considering the 330 -333/000 values associated with the Sun (such as that its mass is 330,000 times more than that of Earth), and encoded in the Bible as 3.33 / 33.3 etc (see the Geometry, and the Bible sections) it is fascinating to note that for the period of the Precession of the Sun; 25,920 / 777.6 = 33.333r. (As noted elsewhere, the cos# values of 777 etc, are linked not only to the inner geometries of the squared circle, and 7:11 proportions within the Great Pyramid, but in the Bible to the powers of the sun, both directly, and with regard to the genetic lines related to Sumer and the ‘gods’, such as Lamech of the Sethite line, who lived for 777 years).

So it is another point of interest that this area/ site has the notable co-ordinates point of 33.3333 7°N/106.081°W (of Greenwich), on the Three Rivers Road, and within the same White Sands Missile grounds as the Trinity site… in fact the Trinity site is about 20-30 miles north-west of the Three Rivers Road, all within the extensive missile range. The links to solar energies as found to be encoded within the Bible and the Law of 3 (+/–/=) as found in the atom certainly make coincidences like this noteworthy. 360/33.3333 = 10.8, ie a harmonic of 108, (as well as the radius of the Moon, at 1080miles), a pointer to 108 being a cosmic # value of significance within many religions, and linked obviously within the series of numbers 108, 216, 432, 864, 1728, 3456 etc, as well as to others, including 27 (3³), 54, which relate to phi and the √2, as follows;  38.19 x 1.414 = 54, and 38.19/ 1.414 = 27. 

The symbolism associated with multiples of three is apparently somehow not coincidental, from some level of ‘synchronicity’. For example, to digress briefly, the assassination of President Kennedy on 22/11/1963 took place near the Trinity underpass and Dealey Plaza, at Dallas, Texas. The latitude of the site at Elm Street is 32.778° N, just a few miles short of the 33^rd Parallel, which passes thus through the northern suburbs of Dallas (close to the President George Bush Turnpike at Far North Dallas/ Jubilee). 

Dealey Plaza is noteworthy, in that it may be seen to be ‘Dea’ (goddess’), and Ley (energy line)…while the motorcade was just short of the Trinity underpass (which crosses the main highway intersection of Routes 366 and 77; both numbers associated with the Sun), and then the Trinity River. It is also of interest that (as several conspiracy theorists have noted), modern Freemasonry within the western world has 33 ‘degrees’, or ranks of status (indeed, the linguistic phrase of ‘giving someone the third degree’ in the sense of hard interrogation stems from masonic tests of the loyalty of neophyte members!) 

And equally incredibly, masonic myth has since at least the 16^th century had narratives of three assassins, named Jubela, Jubelo, and Jubelum (the three ‘juwes’ as they have been referred to) who murdered the master builder Hiram Abiff in order to steal the ‘master’s word’, (that is, according to some, the ‘secret name of God’). The stem of the three names, Jubel, is ‘a sign of the sun’, according to C.C.Zain, the astrologer, occultist and masonic commentator (see masoncode.com). With this borne in mind, there is some extensive (numerical) symbolism present within the subjects of Kennedy’s assassination, and the development of the atomic bomb. 

In the aftermath of the assassination in 1963 Kennedy was replaced as President of the United States by his vice-president, Lyndon Baines Johnson, who was an initiated Freemason, leading to certain obvious implications…(although the degree of his attachment is contested). That Kennedy was the called the ‘sun-king’ during his life also holds symbolic or mythic connotations, although any conclusions drawn from this are obviously going to be purely speculative…

There are further synchronicities located around this subject; for instance, it was in 1935, just two years after 1933 that the 33^rd (?) degree Freemason President Roosevelt introduced the Great Seal and the (capless) Pyramid on the One-Dollar Bill (see left). In fact, Roosevelt, the 32^nd President, may have been either a 32^nd or 33^rd degree Mason, according to different sources, while the following 33^rd President, from April 1945 to 1953, Harry S.Truman, was indeed a 33^rd degree Freemason ! Thus it was Truman who made the decision to drop the two atomic bombs on Japan, after their refusal to surrender.

To return to the events at Trinity, the words of the physicist inventor/ lead-administrator of the nuclear bomb, Robert Oppenheimer, on viewing the detonation at the site on July 16^th 1945 have their own relevance here perhaps. Bearing in mind the (Indian) trinity of the deities of Brahma (the creator) – Shiva (the destroyer) – and Vishnu (the preserver) for one moment, Oppenheimer wrote of when the crowd of top-secret physicists and people watched the first nuclear explosion; 

“A few people laughed, a few people cried. Most people were silent. I remembered the line from the Bhagavad-Gita; Vishnu is trying to persuade the Prince that he should do his duty, and to impress him takes on his multi-armed form, and says ‘Now I am become Death, the destroyer of worlds’. I suppose we all thought that, one way or another”. 

The words Oppenheimer quoted come from chapter11.32 of the Indian ancient scripture the Bhagavad-Gita. The more accurate original transcription is; 

“The Supreme Lord said; I am mighty Time, the source of destruction that comes forth to annihilate the worlds. Even without your participation, the warriors arrayed against you shall cease to exist”.

Two points arise here. Firstly, the pattern in major religions such as Christianity as well as Hinduism of having a three-fold (‘triune’) nature of the Godhead (ie ‘Trinity’), divided into positive (+) negative (-) and equilibrium (=). These aspects clearly match what physics states are the three forces active inside every atom in the Universe, namely protons, electrons and neutrons.

Secondly this quote from chapter 11.32 indicates that the cosmic principle of destruction is aligned with both Time, and therefore with Entropy, which physics states is the inevitable end-result state of the Universe, as energy dissipates with time. Gurdjieff however, according to J.G.Bennett (in his book Gurdjieff; Making a New World), proposed that God created the material dimensions of the Universe outside of the purely energetic realms in order to create a system of multi-levelled dimensions (shown by the Ray of Creation; Do-si-la-sol-fa-mi-re-do, ie. the Absolute/all galaxies/this galaxy/the sun/the planets/the Earth/ the moon, each level of which may be viewed as being located a step further down the energy-matter continuum). 

And the differences between the various levels ensure that they ‘feed’, or grow from inter-dependency on one another, and thus all operate together to create the multi-levelled energies and structures of the Whole. In this system of ‘common-cosmic-reciprocal-maintenance’ the Creation evolves and in this way is protected against the forces of entropy or involution. (This may be one (cosmological) meaning contained within the words of God to Adam when he casts them out of Eden, stating; ‘by the sweat of thy brow shalt thou earn thy bread’. . .) 

Interestingly, there is a saying linked to the Sphinx from antiquity which states that “even Time is scared of the Sphinx”; an apparent non-sequitur unless ‘Time’ is viewed as the apparently inevitable onset of decay, disequilibrium and entropy (of matter), and the Sphinx is viewed as a (cosmic) symbol of the completeness of the entire system – in its collective and hybrid nature – which is also functional in maintaining the ‘metabolism’ of the world, and its unique place within the Ray of Creation, from the geographical centre of the world’s continents at Giza. Gurdjieff himself taught that without the continued evolution of the ‘tip of the leaf’ on the World-Tree (the Creation), namely the notes of mi and re, (the Earth and the Moon), there can be no growth throughout the entire system (leading to a wider cessation perhaps). Ouspensky related in his writings some of Gurdjieff’s lectures on (cosmic) evolution, given to his pupils between 1915 and 1920 in Russia, and then Turkey and Europe;

“To ordinary knowledge, organic life is a kind of accidental appendage violating the integrity of a mechanical system. Ordinary knowledge does not connect it with anything and draws no conclusions from the fact of its existence. But you should already understand that there is nothing accidental or unnecessary in nature. . . everything has a definite function. . . and serves a definite purpose. Thus organic life is an indispensable link in the chains of worlds which cannot exist without it, just as it cannot exist without them. It has been said before that organic life transmits planetary influences of various kinds to the earth. But the earth also is growing, not in the sense of size, but in the sense of greater consciousness, greater receptivity. The planetary influences which were sufficient (for the Earth) at one period become insufficient, she needs the reception of finer influences. To receive finer influences a finer, more sensitive receptive apparatus is necessary. Organic life therefore, has to evolve, to adapt itself to the needs of the planets and the earth…

General growth is only possible on the condition that the ‘end of the branch’ grows. But it must be remembered that evolution is never guaranteed, it is possible only, and it can stop at any moment, and in any place. If humanity does not evolve it means that the evolution of organic life will stop and this in its turn will cause the growth of the ray of creation to stop. In this way the cessation of evolution may mean the destruction of humanity“ – P.D.Ouspensky, In Search of the Miraculous, (p.306). 

In other words, the evolution of the inter-linked systems of life on Earth is part of the Creation’s work in opposition to the force of entropy, and is part of the wider function of the solar system, and the galaxy…

To return to the Bhagavad-Gita momentarily, it may be possible the scripture is indicating that as part of the course of the evolution of material reality the eventual assertion of entropy may be inevitable – the ‘annihilation of worlds’ – at which point the energies of the universe will (presumably?) return cyclically to the purely energetic realms. As such, everything would be in a state of ‘potential being’, much as the ‘void’ was described in the Bible as ‘the depths of the waters’ before God created light, and material reality in Genesis 1.2.

This broadly accords with the Hindu concept of the ‘breath of Brahma’, ie cosmic periods of evolution and involution across the aeons. What the end-result of an infinitely expanded universe in 70 billion years’ time might mean in terms of this proposed cycle, is difficult to consider, as the matter needed to create all the universe’s galaxies etc would be separated by endless space… one solution might be that matter is continually created anew within space, as energies form matter in a continual cycle of manifestation and evolution then back towards energy. This subject includes the implications raised by science’s increased understanding and awareness of the phenomenon of black holes in astronomy and astrophysics.

The existential threat of black-holes may be summarised as follows; they appear to potentially serve a purpose of ‘anchor-points’ within galaxies; or alternatively, may just be areas of ‘entropy’ where nothing can evolve or manifest scattered throughout the galaxies of the universe. In the flow of time, across 60 billion years or more, they may grow to such an extent that more and more of the matter of the universe is swallowed up into them, thus constituting a form of ‘death’ for evolution, intelligence and light, at least in material terms. It may be that the only thing protecting the existing cosmos from this ultimate fate is the counteracting force of the expansion of the universe; something which, paradoxically, likewise threatens the myriad galaxies existing, because if all matter flies apart over billions of years, the result will similarly be the ultimate heat-death of the universe – or ‘final entropy’… So the dynamics contained within this model of expansion- contraction may serve to balance each other fundamentally, and provide a model of how matter is created; not just within star nurseries where the matter of galaxies coalesces into stars, but throughout the universe, at certain point perhaps, in the sense of waters welling up from the earth…ie. from the ‘invisible realms’ where ‘dark matter’ and ‘dark energy’ exist.*

*This conceptualization closely mirrors the Qabalah’s model of ‘emanation’, whereby energies from the highest ‘sephiroth’ (meaning ‘intelligence’/ centre) Kether descend through the ten levels of reality until creating the lowest, material reality Malkuth. This is not the place for consideration of the philosophy of the Qabalah, developed in the Middle Ages by Jewish philosophers steeped in the lore and wisdom of Talmudic sources. Yet the point of relevance to that of dark energy or matter is that prior to energy forming in Kether, it materializes from the ‘abyss’ of ‘infinite potential’ through ‘three veils’ (Ain Soph, etc) of what is called ‘negative existence’..! Another point of note is that the Qabalah organises the ten sephiroth into three columns or pillars, of ‘mercy’, ‘severity’, and ‘balance’; again, representative of energies which are ‘passive’, ‘active’, and ‘neutral’ in nature, with the three forming a (triune) process of counter-balance; or ‘action’–‘reaction’–’equilibrium’, which act in distinct phases during the creation process. (Much as Gurdjieff and Ouspensky proposed the workings of the Law of Three interacted within the workings of the Octave and the Enneagram, creating continual triads of events within reality; as likewise found within human relationships, such as ‘father-mother-child’, and so on)…

Much is uncertain in attempting to harmonise ancient concepts of reality with modern ones – but it is interesting that some of the most abstract, or sublime models or metaphors of antiquity do seem to resonate in some cases with the basic notions put forward here; for example, the book Hamlet’s Mill is named after the ‘cosmic tug-of-war’ described in ancient Hindu myths. This depicts two groups, asuras (Titans) and devas (angels) who pull on the two ends of the ‘celestial serpent’ Vasuki coiled around the sacred mount Mandara. (The serpent is one of the race of the Nagas, and thus a central depiction of the sacred mountain/ ‘Ambrosia’ myth is on the eight inner walls of the courtyard at Angkor Wat, Cambodia…). In other words the interplay of universal positive and negative forces maintaining the cosmic balance… this myth, and Hamlet’s Mill describe the result of these exertions being the ‘ocean of milk’ or ‘ambrosia’/ ‘heavenly nectar’. Thus the myth appears to be saying that the cosmic interplay depicted symbolically creates all celestial energy and life; indeed this is in keeping with modern science which places gravity at the centre of the dynamics of the universe, both in microcosm and macrocosm.

Other relevant myths related to the universe or Earth developing from ‘wellsprings’, or ‘pools’ from the ancient Near East are of the heaven-earth ladders, or axis points, where the higher-dimensional energies of life pool into the material reality of the earth. The (mythic) tale of Jacob dreaming of a ladder stretching from heaven to earth at Bethel, in Genesis28 is a key part of the Bible’s cosmology (or cosmogeny). That the ‘waters’ which sustain life may be metaphors for celestial events or phenomena is apparent likewise in Genesis1.2/6-7 (‘and the spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters’) and the rest of the Bible, thus forming some conceptual link between the ‘waters above’ ie ‘of the heavens’, and gravity in the cosmos – thus reflecting how water symbolizes, or makes clear, the workings of gravity. The Temple of Delphos, and Solomon’s Temple (among others) were built directly over such navel-points’, or ‘omphalos’ points, as the Greeks termed them, from which word came the Latin ‘umbilical’. The Temple Mount in Jerusalem where the Temple was built was considered to be where dry land had first arisen out of the waters when God made the earth, and was the site of later central events also, such as the creation of Adam and Eve…the Mount is still one of the most sacred sites in the world, and is central to three major world religions, namely the Hebrew, Islamic and Christian faiths. 

These various examples may be considered (among many others) as indicators of the ‘cosmic consciousness’ contained within ancient myths, concepts and artworks, in evidence from the start of civilization – which in theory thus had a celestial rather than terrestrial origin, even as mankind was used as the conduit for such abstract metaphors and models of (celestial) reality.  

To conclude this speculative diversion, these ideas reflect the Taoist Chinese saying from c.400Bce which maintains, ‘Man follows the earth; the earth follows the universe; the universe follows the Tao’, ie non-material energetic/ ‘cosmic’ principles … (from ch.25 of the Tao Te Ching by Lao Tzu).

In keeping with this essay’s thesis that such significant energy-points have always been areas of meaningful and conscious activities, it is appropriate to note the presence among others, a little to the north-east of White Sands and Los Alamos, of the Petroglyph National Monument, ranging for a distance of 17 miles around 35.13°N,106.72°W.

This National Park/monument has hundreds of archaeological sites, and around 24,000 petroglyphs (pictures and symbols carved on stones/rock-walls) created by the ancestral native Pueblo peoples. The manner in which they were created is that the geology of the rock-types in this area of previously high volcanic activity meant the rocks were susceptible to having an oxidised outer layer of darker colour; the artworks were made by removing this layer with stones or implements to show a lighter colour stone beneath.

The best designs of the petroglyphs appear to include astronomical/stellar/metaphorical imagery, as can often be the case in ancient rock art and Neolithic geoglyphs – like the Nazca lines in the Atacama highland deserts of Peru. Additionally, if the map of the New Mexico areas around White Sands and Trinity is studied, there is a high preponderance of Native American reservations and lands where different tribes lived; there are 23 Indian tribal reservation areas in New Mexico, nineteen Pueblos; Acoma/Jemez/Cochiti/Laguna/ Nambe/ Picuris/ Taos/ Pojoaque/ Sandia, etc, plus three Apache tribes; Fort Sill, Mescalero and Jicarilla, and the Navajo Nation... Some may have been forcibly relocated here by Washington towards the start of the 20th century, but there were a high number of local tribes with long-term roots in New Mexico. Archaeologists have found evidence of settlements dating back 11,000 years to the Clovis culture, while the Native Indian tribes formed primarily when settled agriculture spread throughout the continent, from circa 2000 Bce.

Native Americans throughout America, from coasts to mountains, from desert-lands to Alaska, lived culturally in close harmony with nature, virtually never degrading their environments or wildlife stocks (as shown by the massive fecundity of the land which modern Americans exploited and ravaged in the 18/19^th centuries). The Indian tribes cultivated the land they inhabited sustainably, whether as settled farmers or semi-nomadic tribes following the crops/ herds through the seasons. Historically they have been viewed as war-like and violent, a viewpoint which stems from their resistance to the destruction of their traditional ways of life from incoming peoples; and while they did have some tribes which were inclined to inter-tribal strife and violence as part of their way of life, particularly many of the Apache tribes, the last century or so has seen greater ethnological focus on the Native American tribes’ sensitivity to the natural rhythms of life, substantial cosmologies and mythologies, and the cycles of the year’s seasons. The respectful nature of their cultures, and the ambiences of certain sites, meant that they often settled where they felt instinctively a place to be of a special, or sacred nature. . . and thus often within areas viewed nowadays as significant points on the world energy grid. Such places, in addition to being naturally beautiful, were believed to be areas where the higher dimensions were immanent, and as such were part of the mythologies of their tribal cultures. Many sites that were accorded sacred status by Native American tribes for centuries, such as Crater Lake, Medford Oregon, Mt. Shasta in California, or Bighorn MedicineWheel, Wyoming, are still considered to be sites of natural power and sensitivity today by modern ‘sacred Earth’ groups.

A view of the map of White Sands Missile Grounds shows a considerable number of neighbouring Indian tribal lands, as does the area around Los Alamos further north of Albuquerque, indeed as mentioned, throughout the south-west and New Mexico. 

However, there does remain characteristic contamination produced at the Trinity site, which still bears high radioactive traces within the soil, and ‘trinitites’ (desert sand melted into glass, similar to tektites). So the ground at Trinity some seventy years after the explosion is still ten times higher than the background, or normal, level of radiation… 

This is something shared by many areas in the world used for nuclear weapons, research and energy production; Kazakhstan in central Asia has a massive area contaminated by Soviet nuclear above-ground and subterranean detonations from 1949-89, at the Semipalatinsk test grounds. Around 456 nuclear bombs (340 underground, 116 above ground), many of immense size, were tested there, with little or no consideration or even warning to indigenous peoples.

In the US is the massive Hanford Nuclear Fuels plant in Washington state on the north-west coast of the nation. A look at the history of the main facility for creating weapons-grade uranium and plutonium etc in post-war America (for over 60,000 nuclear weapons!) shows the incredible amounts of pollution pumped or leaking into the river Columbia and into the air and earth from the site. Health issues particularly cancer (of the thyroid) have led to many urban areas calling themselves ‘down-winders’. And this pollution not only lasted for as long as production was occurring, between 1944 and 1987 but ever since obviously, due to the half-lives of radioactive materials being measured in centuries, as well as massive amounts of (waste) radioactive materials that are stored there in perpetuity in various forms requiring continual assessment and repair. The image (left) shows spent nuclear fuels stored underwater at Hanford.

To quote from Wikipedia; the “reactors were decommissioned at the end of the Cold War, and decades of manufacturing left behind 53 million US gallons of high-level radioactive waste stored within 177 storage tanks, an additional 25 million cubic feet of solid radioactive waste, and areas of heavy technetium-99 and uranium contaminated ground-water … as well as the potential for future ground-water contamination beneath currently contaminated soils . . . In 2011 the DOE ‘interim stabilized’ 149 single-shell tanks by pumping nearly all of the liquid waste into 28 newer double-shell tanks. The DOE later found water intruding into at least 14 single-shell tanks and that one of them had been leaking about 640 US gallons per year into the ground since 2010. In 2012 it also discovered a leak from a double-shell tank caused by construction flaws and corrosion in the tank’s bottom, and that 12 other double-shell tanks had similar construction flaws. Hanford is currently the most contaminated nuclear site in the United States, and is the focus of the nation’s largest environmental clean-up”.

To return to the proximity of Los Alamos and White Sands Missile Range etc to these points around the globe in significant relation to Giza, and the ‘prime meridian’; this ‘significant effect’ may not necessarily be essential to the research work done at Oak Ridge or Los Alamos etc, but may make some unspecified difference – relating the production of solar/ ‘higher’/atomic energies, or fuel sources, to the earth’s energy fields, meridians and node points. Points on the earth’s surface where the solar and planetary energies at the heart of life are channelled and refined as part of their processes. 

In other words, such proximity to ‘strong’ energy points/fields* may well contribute to the success of the research and production programmes concerning the cosmic energies being created at these scientific sites.

This applies to virtually all of the sites mentioned in this chapter, such as Kurchatov, the Joint European Torus at Culham Centre, Oxford and so on; both centres (among many) involved in the study of nuclear fusion. The complexities/ instabilities of heavy (metallic) elements such as Plutonium, which (apparently) has many environment-dependent forms, allotropes, isotopes etc, possessing different densities, crystalline structures and so forth, may well make the energetic fields under consideration more capable of affecting the results obtained through complicated physics/chemistry/electrical/ or computing procedures…

(especially at frequency ‘cross-over’ points, where a resonance exists between the two energies, of place and of practice…) In truth, strong energetic fields affect everything within them, especially subtle energy-fields. For just one example, strong electro-magnetic fields (EMF’s) affect the biological/electrical processes of organic life directly, (and the body’s surrounding energy-fields) in what is an undeniably harmful manner…*

* See – The Boiled Frog chapter on EMF’s, such as from power-lines, mobile phones, electrical equipment, etc. The author of this book, Thomas Saunders also mentions the research done by scientists at the megalithic site the Rollright Stones in what was named the Dragon Project, for some idea of the subtle and powerful effects such sites can exert over long time periods upon ambient energy-fields; this long-term study took several readings around the site every day of the year, and indicated that the monolith the King Stone emitted increased levels of ultrasound pulsing at dawn, whereas the Kings Men circle at the summer solstice had lower readings than other times, thus reaching the conclusion the stone circle may act as a shield for certain everyday energies at key junctures of the year. Obviously, such assertions are tentative, but do indicate possible sources for research in the future. This site is in the county of Oxford too, approximately 15 miles north-west of the city.)

 Kurchatov Research Inst. Moscow, Russia; 

 55.8°N/ 25.83°N of Giza,  37.47°E/ 6.36°E of Giza

To show how common such (strangely) significant sitings of national research centres of (atomic) physics/ weapons/ energy production have been, we can look to the institute of Kurchatov, located near to Moscow. From Wikipedia, it appears that Kurchatov was founded in 1943 to facilitate the USSR’s nuclear weapons programme, and became ‘the heart of the Soviet nuclear bomb effort’. It is still apparently one of Russia’s foremost nuclear research/production centres, and is concerned with nuclear energy, nuclear medicine, thermonuclear fusion, and plasma and accelerator physics; for example, it was the site of the first TOKAMAK fusion generator in Russia and the world. It also was a leading force in building the internet in Soviet Russia in the 1980’s, via its computer experts and engineers, and in the 2010’s coordinated Russian efforts in the field of nanotechnology; its proximity to the capital no doubt helping often in this role. So do the longitude and latitude have any significant features?

 Firstly, the 55.8° latitude gives; 90/ 55.8 = 1.613. This is quite close to ϕ (1.618) related, at just .005 difference.

This link to ϕ for the placement of the site between the equator and the North pole, obviously applies broadly to the entire city of Moscow too. (at 90/ ϕ = 55.62, the difference of 0.18° equates to abouts 10 or so miles, not too great a variance for a major capital city, in fact 55.62° is located within the area of south Moscow). So this is a significant position on the earth’s surface in geometric and probably energetic terms. 

Being 6.36° East of GPM, 90/ 6.36 = 1.415, a figure very close to √2 – 1.4141.

A point of interest arises too if the Latitudes of Kurchatov and Oak Ridge/Los Alamos are compared, or divided;

    56/36 is quite close to the ϕ / Fibonacci sequence 55/34, which comes from the sequence of 1 2 3 5 8 13 21 34 55 89,144, etc. The occurrence of these numbers can be seen in opposing spirals within sunflower seeds/heads, pineapples, pine-cones and so on, where one of the spirals is a step up in number from the spirals running the other way, for some reason; perhaps showing that where twin vortices interact as they evolve upwards, one or other direction will prevail, giving the axis a ‘spin’ of clock-wise or the opposite, while remaining in geometric relation to the opposing spiral.

More interestingly perhaps is the result of –             56  / 36  = 1.555 

so Kurchatov/ Los Alamos/ Oak Ridge Latitudes =  55.8 /35.9 = 1.554 

which as we have seen is exactly 2 x 0.777; or 3 x 0.5184; or 3.6 x .432; or 111.1 x 14  (the cos# values which crop up repeatedly in relation to Giza especially, as shown in the Square and Circle chapter with regard to the 1.1111 proportion to 7, from the equal: outer circles, or the inner: equal squares. In fact, it is noticeable in the squared circle progressions that whereas;

Circles progress   Inner: Equal: Outer in 1 : 1.273 : 1.414 (so Equal : Outer = 1 : 1.111) 

Squares progress Inner: Equal: Outer in 1 : 1.111 : 1.414 (so Equal : Outer = 1 : 1.273) 

These values are all significant, as the √ϕ, √2, and √1.23456789 …

Moreover, our central # for the Sun, 864 relates; 7 x 1.11 = 7.77, and 864/1.111 = 777.67 (ie 7 x 123.456789 = 864, as 1.111² = 1.23456789).

Additionally; 864/7 = 123.456789 x 8 = 987.654321

Re the Moscow longitude, it shows that 55.8 x .776 = 43.3 exactly, and 55.8 /.778 =71.7;

These values are all Sun-related; 71.7 is close to the exact value in years for 1° of Precession (at between 71 and 72). And keeping in mind that – among many values, obviously – the Sun is 333,000 times heavier than Earth (ie. 3x 111 x10³), it is of interest that;

25 920 /777.6 = 33.333r.

As a quick note of interest, the Large Hadron Collider sited underground at CERN in Geneva, Switzerland is located at the latitude of 46.23416° N. If the 360° of the (polar) circumference of the world is divided by this figure, the following is obtained;

360 / 46.23416 = 7.78644 … close to the solar-related value of 7.77, (as well as including the 864 Sun harmonic), providing another proportion of possible significance.

(As mentioned, in the Bible there are several references centred around 330 or 333 ( 3x 11/x10/x1000) which are all linked to the powers of the Sun, and the ‘host of the Lord’ – both as ‘the emanation of the Lord’s love for his people’ (Deuteronomy33.3) -and as concerned with the destruction of the corrupted cities of the plain, or the forces of Israel in defeating king Nahash (1Samuel11.1-11!), forces which number 330,000, and are divided into 300,000 men of Israel and 30,000 of Judah, ie, 11 x 3 x 10⁴. The king Nahash, appears to have strong relations to both the Nahash brazen serpent, the seraphim (the ‘fiery’ flying serpents), and the Nagas of eastern mythology; as well therefore to the Nephilim, portrayed throughout antiquity as being of the lineage of the ‘sons of the gods’, and like king Nahash both ‘mighty’ and cruel…As such, having the powers of the heavens, and the sun in particular embodied within their genetics…

Incredibly, considering the geometric values of 7 and 7.77 encoded into the measures and proportions of the Great Pyramid, showing its inner purpose to be concerned with the energies of the Sun (and planets, galaxy and stars), especially in terms of their energetic pathways through the surface of the earth, (as does the Sphinx), the Bible too connects this # to the Sun; and the bloodline of Cain…how? In the line of Seth, (Eve’s son/ Cain’s later brother after Abel), Enoch’s son Methuselah has a son called Lamech. Cain’s son Lamech despairs of the generational guilt of the bloodline of Cain (unrefined or excessive solar energy) saying ‘if Cain will be avenged (punished) sevenfold, truly Lamech seventy and sevenfold’, at Genesis 4.24.

Enoch lives for 365 years, in what is clearly a symbolic number, and then is ‘taken to heaven without dying’ (Genesis 4.23-4), in similar manner to Utnapishtim, the Noah-figure in the epic of Gilgamesh (who is granted eternal life along with his wife by Enlil, the Anunnaki ‘lord of the Earth’, after surviving the Deluge with Enki’s help). Enoch’s grandson Lamech (of the Seth lineage) lives for – 777 years (Genesis 5.31; these lengthened life-spans, as in Sumerian King Lists, emphasizing the ‘celestial’ genetics of the human offspring of the lines of the ‘sons of the gods’). Further to this, he has a son he names Noah; meaning ‘respite’, who the Lord protects as’ a righteous and perfect man’, warning him of the forthcoming Flood. But curiously the lineages of Cain, and his brother Seth contain the same seven or so names in different order, indicating the ‘encoded’ possibility that they are closer in (genetic) nature than might at first glance be assumed. Other texts from Hebrew schools of the time provide strong supporting evidence for this strange narrative.

In the non-canonical Book of 1Enoch, widely regarded as part of the Hebrew liturgies in the era during the 2^nd or 3^rd centuries Bce, Lamech the father of Noah saw his child’s face and chest he was born, and doubted his paternity due to the appearance of the child (Book of 1Enoch, Ch 105, 1-20), stating his belief the child was a ‘son of the Watchers’.

This entire narrative and imagery is linked by the complex use of (Sun-related) 777 encodings, which are present in both the Old and New Testament, and relate to questions of blood-line, and of sin – ie the bloodlines of Cain and ‘those who were from heaven and took wives from the daughters of men’. In fact, in the Song of Solomon, at 7.7, the daughter of Jerusalem mentions the grapevine (symbolizing bloodline) and the date-palm (the tamarind tree, meaning ‘tree of darkness’ and symbol from the Sumerian era of the ‘unknowable gods’)… There are two females named Tamar in the Bible who are impregnated by their own kin, indicating by this the imbalanced (or concentrated) genetics of the ‘dark’ bloodlines. The ubiquity of this symbolism and encoding of key concepts using number supports the idea that the inner narratives of many of the different books of the Bible were most likely understood as one, or were possibly edited as such at a particular time.

In conclusion to this (exploratory) section regarding some of the leading nuclear energy research labs around the world, there are further facts concerning some of the relevant subjects in which 7.77 (and 777, etc) hold some peculiar significance, in addition to the geometries of cosmic #, the Square/Circle, the Sun, and Giza, such as the geometric ratios within the Great Pyramid’s design. 

There are several examples of unusual synchronicity in this subject, also – one of the first Egyptian-based Freemasonry Lodges was started in 1784 by Joseph Balsamo*, an Italian better known as Count Cagliostro. He was inducted into Freemasonry in 1777 at the Esperance Lodge No.289 in Soho, London; (more synchronicity arises here; see the etymology section for more information on the many (higher dimensional) words and meanings which stem from spiral; words for breath, work, church, hope – ‘esperance’ – inspiration, and the heavens, etc). In Lyons, France on Dec 24th,1784 Cagliostro alongside his wife Serafina (whose name is also noteworthy, being related to the ‘Seraphim’, the celestial beings, or angelic order associated with the ‘fiery serpents’ and with the Nehushtan, etc), founded the co-masonic (dual-sex) mother lodge of Egyptian-rite freemasonry, La Sagesse Triomphante.

* One point of interest here is that his name Balsamo connects him with ‘balsam’ a plant or tree-derived resin steeped in essential oils; the Bible has many instances of such compounds being used by women as medicinal treatments. The Song of Solomon, a central text to groups concerned with the feminine aspect of divinity, or the ‘goddess’, references balsam several times (5.1,13, 6.2). The Queen of Sheba brought it as a present to Solomon, (1Kings10.2), and it was used as an ingredient in the anointing of priests (Exodus 25.6,35.28). It may also be connected to Mary Magdalene in the depiction of her wiping the feet of Jesus with her hair, and applying a perfume, mentioned in all four synoptic gospels. Mary Magdalene is described in the New Testament as one of the women in the New Testament who ‘gave of their substance’ to Christ and his followers.

With regard to Magdalene the connections to the lineages of the Anunnaki and Sumer are present within the Bible’s details of her life; her familial name (Bethany) holds significance, in that Beth in Hebrew means ‘House of-‘, as in Bethsaida (House of Fishermen), Bathsheba (House of Seven) and so on. . . Bethany thus means literally; ‘the house of Anu’. Indeed, the Samaritan tribe, of which she was part, was named in effect, ‘Little Sumer’, while the Bible relates the Assyrian empire’s defeat of the tribes of Israel c.732Bce, and population of Samaria with peoples from various parts of Mesopotamia – all these points serve to connect the central mythologies of ancient Sumer, little known until the 20th century, to so many major characters within both Old and New Testaments  – see the Bible section for much more on this. . . 

So overall the name Balsamo would appear to have resonances with the feminine aspects of providing succour and healing, a coincidence in he and his wife being among the earliest founders of co-masonic groupings. Many masonic/ alternative philosophy organisations particularly in France during the 18/19th centuries followed in the (‘heretical’ or non-conformist) footsteps of the Gnostics in terms of their esoteric belief-systems, centred upon reverence for John the Baptist and Mary Magdalene in particular. For info on the numerous French groups associated with them, such as that of the Reverend Sauniere at Rennes-le-Chateaux, see L. Picknett and C. Prince’s book, The Templar Revelation). 

SIDEBAR – Gnosticism

It is a curious coincidence that reverence for Mary Magdalene in Europe was highest in the southeast of France, where Mary is said to have settled, in some time after 45Ad. Gnostic groups, which existed from the first century onwards in Syria, Iraq, Iran and the ‘Holy Lands’, developed into such groups in Europe such as from the 6^th century the Bogomils in Bulgaria, and in France from the 11^th century the Albigensians and the Cathars. These groups were greatly concerned with the feminine aspect of wisdom, (the Pistis Sophia), while Gnostic groups usually advocated asceticism in sexual and dietary practice. In many examples, ranging from Christian, Islamic, Qabalistic, Manichean/Persian and Buddhist groups with ‘gnostic’ connections, the divinity of the unison of male and female energies was a key concept, a perspective related to the esoteric philosophy of alchemy. Also central was a belief that the material world, and mankind were a mixture of the forces of Light and Darkness, and that the (‘satanic’) creators/rulers of the ‘dark’ world helped ‘fashion’ the first human beings, Adam and Eve, providing the material basis while the God of Light provided the mind, or intelligence of man, (thus creating a being always representative of the duality of the creation). These beliefs all point to questions raised by the Sumerian myths and texts, in one way or another, particularly the nature of the Anunnaki (and their myths); perspectives have ranged throughout history, from viewing them as (straightforward) deities, ‘demiurges’, (a tribe of) celestial beings, ‘angels’, through to the ‘Nephilim’, and ‘dark powers’ as the Gnostic philosophies classed the lesser cosmic powers; rather as the Old Testament books of the Bible classed the Anunnaki as ‘the sons of God’. As we see in the Bible section, the character of Simon the Magician, and his paramour Helen, who he redeemed from prostitution, is one narrative from antiquity which embodies many Gnostic themes; although what can be stated is that there are many forms of Gnosticism, across all the different nations and religions of Near Eastern antiquity…

One of the key texts of Gnosticism, the 3^rd century Coptic (Egyptian) Greek work ‘Pistis Sophia’ was first discovered in 1773 and sold in 1785 as the ‘Askew Codex’ by his estate to the British Museum. Much within the same time-frame as the Ethiopic Book of Enoch (detailing the creation of hybrid ‘celestial’/ human bloodlines in Sumer, between the ‘sons of the gods’ and human women; these were named the Nephilim in the Bible and it is believed the Book of Enoch was a key source text for many linguistic instances within the Old Testament. The Pistis Sophia, and other gnostic texts likewise depicted the lineages of good and evil demiurges, represented by Jupiter, and Saturn accordingly). The Book of 1Enoch was discovered in 1774 by the Scottish explorer and antiquarian the Earl James Bruce, as we shall see shortly. Indeed, as Wikipedia states, ‘until the discovery of the Nag Hammadi library in 1945, the Askew Codex was one of the three surviving codices containing full copies of all of the Gnostic writings that have survived until recent times; the other two are the Bruce Codex, and the Berlin Codex’, meaning that Bruce was actually the discoverer of two of the most significant non-canonical texts/ books of both Christianity and Gnosticism during the years of his travels in the1770’s. (In fact Bruce was also one of the earliest sources in western Europe of knowledge, and then copies of the c.12-13^th century Ethiopian book the Kebra Nagast, ‘the Glory of Kings’, centred upon the marriage of king Solomon and the Queen of Sheba, and the ‘line of kings’ in Ethiopia which resulted…) It is an additional point of interest therefore that the copies of the Book of Enoch, the Bruce Codex and the Kebra Nagast that Bruce and his family bequeathed to the Bodleian Library in Oxford were thus ‘housed’ in Europe and Britain within just a few hundred feet of the main energy-line stretching between North and South in England, which passes directly beneath Oxford University, (as well as many other key towns and cities of England)… aptly, it is in ch.61 of the Book of 1Enoch that the narrator describes watching angels (to paraphrase) ‘take measuring rods, and fly to the north, to measure the secrets of the Earth, and of the righteous’… In short then, this book was one of the key sources of ideas in Hebrew culture and antiquity (probably related to Egyptian and Sumerian concepts) of both the celestial/ hybrid bloodlines, (of strong solar character), and of consciousness of the (harmonious) geometries and energy-lines of the Earth.

To return to the order started by Balsamo/ Cagliostro and his wife Serafina, while obviously Cagliostro found inspiration in the works and beliefs of antiquity Egypt, the Square Magazine article says it is apparent there was little ‘genuine’ Egyptian philosophy or wisdom in the various 18^th and 19th century Memphis-Misraim lodges. More in fact a nascent interest, as was evident throughout the western world following on from increased publication and discussion of further archaeological studies of antiquity and Egypt. Often these lodges/Rites were composed of a mixture of biblical, alchemical and Qabalistic sources of esoteric thinking, along possibly with various strands or interpretations of Gnosticism. Cagliostro himself endured much mockery and distrust, in London and then in Europe, some large part of which was due to his own outlandish claims and self-aggrandisement. But the interest in Egyptian wisdom and works of art and architecture had a very real basis, in that before this time most historical knowledge of antiquity reached only to Hebrew, Greek and Roman civilizations, which all owed a debt to much older strands of understanding throughout antiquity.

So the 17/18^th centuries saw a continual growth of interest in the achievements of the ancient world of the pre-Greco/Roman era, long considered prior to this as the ‘founts’ of Western civilization and science…

Much interest attended the researches done by English antiquarians and mathematicians in Giza, such as by Prof. John Greaves, the Gresham College professor of geometry (and then Savilian professor of maths at Oxford) who travelled the Orient for several years in the 1630’s, and visited the pyramids and Sphinx at Giza – measuring the pyramids there more accurately than any previous studies, and transmitting some idea of their uniqueness and sophistication to a progressively more receptive Europe and world in 1646, (particularly the intellectual and academic elites of the time, which were instrumental in the creation of modern ‘science’ as we know it today).

During Cagliostro’s time in Paris in the 1770’s, he moved in rarefied circles, associating with the famed occultist Comte Saint-Germain, and being recommended as a physician to Benjamin Franklin; one of America’s founding fathers and leading freemasons. (Franklin headed the Nine Sisters Lodge – est.1776 – while resident in Paris, from 1779 to 1785). Also a member of the Nine Sisters lodge was Antoine Court de Gebelin, who was a supporter of American Independence, and became a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences in 1781. He also wrote a treatise on the Golden Age in mankind’s early history, and papers on the origins of language within the worldwide civilization(s) of pre-antiquity. He wrote articles on etymology, hermeneutics, and the Tarot, considering the system to be ‘an arcane repository of timeless esoteric wisdom’ (Chisholm,1911). Moreover, he believed that the Tarot deck held the secrets of ancient Egypt within its design and symbols, particularly the Book of Thoth (although this was without any clear evidence, in terms of Egyptian hieroglyphics as they had not been deciphered by then. Nevertheless, Greek-Egyptian philosophies had been developed from the 4^th century Bce at least, creating one avenue for Egyptian wisdom to reach the West, particularly through the ‘alchemical’ works associated with Thoth, and Hermes. Incidentally, as the deity of wisdom, science, writing, hieroglyphics, magic, knowledge and measurement, Thoth was equated with the biblical character of – Enoch, the same then being represented later by the Greeks as Hermes-Trismegistus..!)

Court de Gebelin theorized that Egyptian priests brought Tarot cards to Rome in antiquity, from where the knowledge was brought to the French papacy in Avignon in the 14^th century, and hence on into wider France… His articles did give rise to others such as by the Comte de Mellet, linking the 22 Major Arcana with the 22 letters of the Hebrew alphabet, and thereafter articles on Cartomancy and techniques of reading, helping thereby to popularize use of the cards. 

Interest in the monuments and culture of ancient Egypt gripped Paris around the turn of the century; Napoleon as Emperor of France undertook for some reason to invade the Middle East, and Egypt in particular, in 1798-1801, sending warships up the Nile in July of 1798. It was during this (ultimately untimely) campaign that the discovery of a tri-lingual stone was made – which provided a ‘crib’ enabling French researcher Jean Francis Champollion to decipher the Rosetta Stone in 1822, making the actual decipherment of ancient hieroglyphic inscriptions possible for the first time in the modern era. 

This fascination with the culture of ancient Egypt was shared in the New World equally; it is a well-known fact that the founding first US Government in 1776 was largely/predominantly Masonic in composition. As the sense of building a new ground-breaking (!) type of society precluded reference to European history, (with its predominance of hereditary monarchs), throughout the 19th and early 20th centuries there was a strong (especially speculative) interest in the architecture and culture of ancient Egypt, among others. (Indeed, in Europe, Freemasonry for a very long period had connected its own origins to the builders of the pyramids as well as to those of Solomon’s Temple; possibly even as early as the 14th century predecessors of masonry were speculating on this. See – Freemasonry and Egyptomania; The Square Magazine). 

 Hence after becoming the first president of the United States, Washington – the man – was depicted in statue form as the Greek god Zeus holding a lightning bolt, whilst wearing the mainstay of the Roman world, a toga (!) This was not at all well received by Washington – the city – and was removed from the public place of display within months.

(As we see in this section, the symbol of a man, or ‘god’, holding two staffs includes the Inca deity Viracocha holding a lightning bolt and a ‘measuring rod’ to his side, as well as the archetypal Tarot image of the Two of Wands (Dominion) which depicts a man holding two staffs. Shown later in this section are a similar (seated) figure from Egypt/Abydos, and the Long Man of Wilmington/ the Two of Wands).

(There is some more curious synchronicity in the US history of this period; Washington’s birthdate was the 22nd of Feb; 22.2, 1732 (1.732 being the √3 , and that divided by two, 86.6% being the percentage of the Vesica axis to each circle’s diameter. And as we have seen, 360/1.62, ie ϕ, = 222.2, as does 2√123.456789). His friend Benjamin Franklin’s son William was also born on 22.2 – William then had a son, William Temple Franklin, who was also born on 22.2 !) 

Ben Franklin was central in American politics, and science, from the 1740’s to 1790. As a leading political figure and Patriot he was central to the events which led to the War of Independence, alongside his scientific endeavours. As such, he was one of the 5 men who constituted the committee which drafted the Declaration of Independence, on July 4^th,1776. Immediately after this in December he was dispatched to France to act as the US’s commissioner ie Ambassador to France. 

(From Wikipedia) Franklin’s (illegitimate) son, William, born in 1730, was cared for by his father and Franklin’s common-law wife. When aged around 23 he aided his father in his famous kite experiment in a lightning storm! He followed his father into public service and politics, and became in 1763 the last colonial governor of New Jersey; when war broke out between the formative States and Britain, while Franklin senior was a leading force in the revolutionary States, his son was a loyalist to the Crown – leading to an estrangement which never healed between father and son. When Independence was ratified, Franklin junior left America to return to London where he had spent several years studying law.

His son – William Temple Franklin – also illegitimate, was named Temple allegedly because he was conceived while his father studied at Middle Temple in London to become a lawyer, around 1760. His grandfather Benjamin met him when on an extended mission in London, when Temple was around 4 years old. Without telling him who he was, he was gradually introduced to his grandfather’s family, so that by the time Benjamin returned to America in 1773, he had become legal custodian of Temple, who returned to America with him. 

Temple accompanied Benjamin on his diplomatic mission to France in late 1776, and worked as secretary himself to the American diplomatic mission, including the official position as such at the Treaty of Paris in 1783, which officially ended the war, and ratified therefore American independence.

 His later years were not spent in politics or diplomacy; but he does have the unique claim of being the first ever person to receive airmail! A letter from his father delivered across the English Channel in 1785 by the hot-air balloon of J.P.Blanchard, and John Jefferies… Benjamin Sr. similarly was witness to the world’s first ever hydrogen balloon flight, in 1783, from the Champ de Mars, where the Eiffel Tower now stands. (This was just ten days after the Montgolfier brothers’ first manned flight of a hot-air balloon, considered as such to be the inventers of balloon flight. The hydrogen balloon flight reached heights of up to 550metres, on a journey of over 21 kilometres – when it landed in the countryside it was attacked by a crowd of locals with pitchforks and knives, and hence destroyed…) Jacques Montgolfier himself was a member of the Nine Sisters lodge, showing how closely science and politics were linked at that time in France, America, and Europe). The Montgolfier’s invented such things as the hydraulic ram, as well as numerous forms of sophisticated fine art papers etc, indeed a form of the Montgolfier’s’ paper company still exists today. Likewise, during his life Benjamin invented the lightning-rod, Franklin stove, bifocal glasses, and the flexible urinary catheter. Yet he never patented his inventions, writing that as each individual benefits from the many inventions of others, it is likewise moral to give the world one’s own innovations.

When Ben Franklin died, he bequeathed all his writings, papers and letters to Temple Franklin, who published Benjamin’s ‘Autobiography’ in London and Philadelphia in 1816. Temple had an illegitimate daughter in France in these years, (making it three generations of Franklins in a row to enter into paternity, without the inconvenience of matrimony…!)

As mentioned, from December 1776 to 1785 Benjamin was resident in Paris as the representative commissioner of the United States, becoming in his role as a leading international Freemason the head of ‘Les Neuf-Soeurs’ (the Nine Sisters) Lodge in Paris. 

In 1784, when the ‘magnetism’ theories of Franz Mesmer began to circulate round Paris, a committee of leading scientists was created to investigate the phenomenon; the members included Franklin, Antoine Lavoisier (the pre-eminent French chemist who was the discoverer and namer of oxygen in 1778, and hydrogen in 1783, and the formative influence in the Du Pont family’s gunpowder business in France before it emigrated to America), and J.I.Guillotin, deviser of the infamous apparatus used in the French Revolution’s violent aftermath (and also a member of the Nine Sisters lodge). In other words, quite a committee to be hypnotized in front of ! 

(In fact, ten years later on 8th May 1794, Lavoisier was executed by – guillotine, his pleas for clemency due to his ongoing scientific researches being rejected by the stern Revolutionary Tribunal judge Coffinhal as immaterial; within three months of that Judge Coffinhal himself was executed – during the Thermidorian (July) Reaction which saw the execution of Robespierre and seventy other leaders, the end of the Reign of Terror (!), and abandonment of the harsh revolutionary policies of the leading committee, such as the dechristianization of France, and so on).

Many links existed between the du Ponts and the Nine Sisters Lodge, of whom Thomas Jefferson too was a member; it was Jefferson who arranged for the first (government) gun-powder order when Eleuthere du Pont began his Wilmington, Delaware gunpowder business after moving from France to America on the turn of the nineteenth century. (And in fact Franklin visited father Pierre Samuel Du Pont as soon as he arrived in Paris in December 1776). Later, in America, Alexander Hamilton was Pierre Samuel’s lawyer; and Eleuthere was chosen to sit on the board of Hamilton’s creation, the United States Bank – showing the levels of power the family occupied… through the 19^th century the family built a wide-ranging chemical and industrial empire, which is still a key multi–national conglomerate today.

In summary, the 1784 committee concluded, the power of hypnosis lay in the expectations of the person being hypnotised – the placebo effect (ie, imagination) – a conclusion which is certainly incomplete, in truth. It is recognised today, ironically, that among the earliest civilizations to explore and develop the healing powers of hypnosis were the (incredibly advanced) Egyptians.

The website HypnoticWorld.com points to the 3rd century CE text of the Magical Papyrus of Thebes as an example of the procedure used to induce hypnotic states. It was in ancient Egypt too that many advanced forms of healing, such as light and sound therapies were developed (see T.Saunders op.cit), often based on their understanding of the tonal or vibrational nature of reality. Indeed the medical symbols used by the American Medical Association (the rod of Asclepius/ the winged Caduceus), plus that of the sign used to indicate medical vehicles such as ambulances, have their origins firmly within antiquity-era Egypt, and Greece in particular. The Caduceus

(left) may be interpreted as a representation of the spine, with the two hemispheres of the brain, and the dot being the ‘third eye’, the pineal gland; located not at the forehead, but towards the lower rear section of the head near the occiput and neck. The Rod of Asclepius features a serpent similar to the Nehushtan of Moses, twining around a vertical axis, as well as the geometries of the hexagon.

Similar interpretations resurfaced/ originated within (philosophic) freemasonry in the 19th century, perhaps explaining the widespread modern application of the symbols. Some Masonic organisations portrayed the spine and the sacrum-bone within which it is ‘rooted’ (in the pelvis) in their symbology as the ‘spade’ with which the sacred temple is built; a quite sophisticated concept for the 19^th century. 

The monuments and mysteries of Egypt continued to exert a strong influence from the 18^th century onwards. Two of the best-known examples are as follows. In Washington DC during the presidency of (Freemason) Franklin Roosevelt in 1935, the One Dollar-bill was introduced which is still used today, featuring the Great Pyramid at Giza on its obverse side, with the year 1776 inscribed on the pyramid’s base, as well as a large amount of numerical symbolism (centred around the #13) in the artwork. 

A long time after 1776, apparently; and yet here is a Fifty-dollar bill from 1778, issued by the (Continental) Congress, the first post-Independence ruling body of the States. The design is of a stepped-pyramid (Sumer built the first ziggurat pyramids, while Egypt developed them later on into straight-edged pyramids) – with the capstone missing, like the Great Pyramid’s – and like the 1935-dollar bill, there are 13 steps to the pyramid. The two notes are clearly related;

The unusual detail of the capstone missing was turned into a further symbolic meaning by the time of the redesigned One Dollar bill in 1935. Here, the eye on the one-dollar bill pyramid capstone is called ‘the Eye of Providence’, meaning in this the ‘eye of the divinity’ – while possibly deriving from Renaissance and masonic symbology, the depiction of the eye as symbol of an ‘ever-seeing God’ had earlier gained prominence in Egypt, of course. The ‘Eye of Horus’ was applied to texts, and artworks throughout the historical period. 

The design used in 1778 on the 50-dollar bill was also used in 1782 apparently on the dollar bill.   

 Secondly, one of the most famous DC. monuments – the Washington Monument – was built between 1848-85 as a dedication to the founding father/nascent capital/nation – in the style of an Egyptian obelisk. Many cities of the world raised obelisks, either using obelisks cut from one piece of stone recovered from archaeological digs in Egypt, as well as Sumerian civilizations such as the Assyrians, or simply building themselves, usually constructed using several blocks. In Britain certainly the obelisk was viewed as an architectural addition to many sites, such as large country estates, adding in this way a sense of antiquity, similar to buildings using Corinthian, or Doric columns etcetera.

 Large sized obelisks are to be found in the parks and embankments of many modern cities; Rome has many obelisks taken originally from Egypt when the Roman empire achieved primacy over the Egyptian state circa 200Ad. During the Renaissance, the city likewise raised numerous obelisks in public spaces as monuments, such as the famous obelisk outside St Peter’s Basilica. In the cities of London, New York and Paris obelisks of great antiquity were raised after being shipped from Egypt; Cleopatra’s Needle as it is called, although it was originally made for the Thuthmose III temple in Heliopolis (‘city of the Sun’) in the 15^th century Bce, was shipped to Alexandria in antiquity, and from there in 1819 to London. Other cities with obelisks include Constantinople, Dublin, Stockholm, Berlin, Warsaw, Vienna, Edinburgh, and so on.   

The symbolic nature of obelisks is by and large centred around their representation of male lingam, in effect making the structures active rather than receptive conduits of energy. As such they may be said to represent (or ‘focus’) the fertility, or energies of the city, or nation within which they are sited. This was the original intent of the Egyptians too; Heliopolis, for example, built as a city dedicated to the sun created architectural objects such as obelisks to symbolize the male energies of sunlight. The similar form of the ben-ben stone, which represents a cap-stone, or tip of an obelisk alone, has close associations, so that the word ben-ben is a precursor of the Arabic word Ibn for ‘son’; in other words for the result of male fertility. 

In the United States too, from 1800 onwards, in the newly expanded capital of Washington D.C, great attention was given to new buildings designed in the styles of the ancient world, such as Rome and Greece. This was partly to avoid simply copying the styles of architecture of the European continent – such as Versailles – although as much European civic architecture was in the Roman or Greek styles, the differences were minimal. But in considering Heliopolis, which was located 20 or so miles distance from Giza in antiquity, the Egyptians were following their beliefs in designing cities locations geodetically to mirror celestial patterns; Heliopolis for example formed a representation of the heavens with the river Nile being the earthly equivalent of the Milky Way as it ‘meandered’ through the night skies. In this way the designers viewed the earth’s surface as a tessellated ‘chequer-board’, upon which the cities of mankind could be aligned with the significant constellations of the heavens, forming a bridge between the upper and lower dimensions in so doing; in other words this was their way of creating a ‘city of heaven upon earth’. . .

The nascent United States government likewise built with much attention to celestial geometries in the sites and main buildings of their living spaces, conscious as they were of the opportunity as they saw it in the time of change and revolution, to inaugurate a ‘new world age’, one expressing the move towards the rights of man, and democracy. Geometric patterns, alignments, orientations, and attention to the coordinates of latitude and longitude were a highly relevant part in many instances of governmental, or civic planning, (ideally as a way of connecting the heavens and the world). 

The ground-plan of many American cities likewise reflects this aspiration towards the ’age of reason’; thus the square N-S and W-E main street plans of many American cities, in what might be called a grid or matrix pattern. (What the effects of this latticework of straight lined grids of streets may mean in terms of the flow of energies is uncertain. What can be confirmed, and is part of this section’s underlying ethos, is that energy creates material forms, or expressions; and conversely, material forms shape the expressions of their own distinctive energies. Somewhat as the Old Straight Tracks reflected ley-lines to some extent, so perhaps the forms the major roads took will have shaped or affected the telluric energies which run through the land. This offers some form of dynamic feedback system existing between humanity and the world’s physical structures, on an energetic level also. This belief in the ability of changing the energies of a place by altering significant features within the built environment is the basis of much of the practice of Feng Shui, the ancient Chinese belief-system which has become increasingly recognised as valid during modern times, and also lay at the heart of the building programme of the Druids across Britain from the period of the Bronze Age circa 3600Bce. It also reflects the Chinese TCMA saying, “Where the mind is, energy is”, ie where activity occurs, energies will circulate.

To return to the Washington Monument, built over almost 40 years, (possibly delayed because of the Civil War of the 1850’s), from 1848-1885, this obelisk is built to a height of exactly 555 feet – (almost certainly for symbolic reasons, though what these are is not known) – but as mentioned, as a male fertility and Sun symbol (sunlight is viewed as male in nature from antiquity onwards), which can be viewed as channelling solar energies from this central point throughout the entire land, the value of 555 may perhaps have some connections to solar energies in the same way that the value 777 does.

Regarding the height of the obelisk, an argument could be made that as #5 is the number of ‘man’ -and of organic growth (in fifths of 72°/ ϕ ratios) in many plants – this fertility symbol may be ‘read’ as symbolizing mankind, nature, life-force; and also related to 111 as a  cosmic# …see, for example, the art work ‘Vitruvian Man’ by Leonardo Da Vinci, showing the pentagonal geometries of the human figure. In similar vein the (red) 5-pointed star emblem of Soviet communism was likewise thought to symbolize the post-1917 society being built as the ‘perfection of human society’ – a view of mankind’s societal progressions through the epochs, as Marxism taught…

 -and it is possible to show some links between the two values to Cos#, and Sun/light harmonics;

 555.5  x .7777 = 432.01235777 

 1.111  x  777   = 864.

How this apparent link between 555 and the Sun and its energies functions in reality remains to be seen, although the 

 values of 0.0555 as 1/18, (or 1/6 /3), or as 1.111 /2 (ie 1/9 /2) indicate that it is related to some of the key harmonic values of cos# which describe certain characteristics of the energies of the cosmos. To conclude this section, the site at Trinity, White Sands Missile Range, New Mexico where the first atomic bomb was detonated in July 1945, is also marked by an obelisk, a fitting memorial and monument to the powers of the Sun.

SIDE BAR          

One additional coincidence is that two of the world’s leading scientific sites concerned historically with the production of the nuclear bomb/ energy are located in Ox. England, and Oak Ridge, USA… 

As the Etymology ‘Notes and Numbers’ section examines, the semantic/linguistic cluster of oak/axis/ox/octave are all linked by the concept of a world-tree/ axis between the heavens and earth; these terms relate essentially to the Octave, and to the interaction of heavens (energy) and earth (matter).

It is another synchronous fact that the Oak tree, as well as signifying sacred sites in the Bible, was also the tree most sacred to the Druids, presumably in its propensity to link the heavens and the earth. Even the Latin term osteo/ oss for the bone, or skeleton has its roots in Hebrew words based upon os-em-, themselves most likely derived from Mesopotamian or Proto-Indo-European origins. . . this relates to the concept of the skeleton/bone, as a (biomechanical) framework, or axis, around which growth was thus enabled. Both the words for oak, and ox were used in like manner from the Hebrews onwards etc, as symbols of strength, or foundation; thus the Hebrew words of – Osem (might/ skeleton), Osma (Strength), and Esma (bone). It is worth noting in relation to the body-form of human beings, (as well as vertebrates) that since the era, and event, known as the ‘Pre-Cambrian Explosion’ around 576 million years ago, the class of life-forms known as Chordata have been virtually the only  ‘body-plan’ on Earth for all birds, fish, reptiles, mammals, primates and us! – comprising of a spine, with head and ‘tail’, the head containing the brain and sense organs of eyes, ears, a mouth (for breathing, tasting, eating and communicating), two arms, with shoulders, elbows, hands and fingers, two legs with hips, knees, ankles feet and toes, a chest for the lungs and heart, a stomach for digesting food, internal organs such as liver and kidneys, and reproductive and excretory organs by the base of the trunk – all held together by a framework of bones* around which are arranged ligaments, sinews and muscles, with the (fulcrum of) the spine carrying nerve signals inside itself between body and brain. The ubiquity of this pattern in all the major types of life on Earth since then shows the efficiency of this form whether for avian, reptilian, or mammalian species, be that for flying, moving underwater, walking or running. . . the additional meaning of ‘chord’ signifies the conjunction of the metabolic organs along the main axis, contributing different ‘notes’ of the ‘octave’. The eastern philosophies’ model of the seven chakras (energy-centres) arrayed from the crown of the head to the seat of the trunk likewise conveys this meaning of different energies of different frequencies, or levels, working in unison from high to low along a central axis, in what is a model of the universe itself.

All of this helps to show the evolution of organic life in harmony with the laws and physics of the universe – the Tao.

As we see in the Etymology section, the ‘or -‘ in ‘organic’ stems from words arising from similar roots as above which describe the sun, or its light; this includes concepts of ‘gold’, arising, the heavens, and abstract ones based around the concept of ‘order’. These words came from the root of Sumerian word Ur-anna (‘the light of the heavens’), Hebrew ‘or’ (light), Greek (‘ouroboros’), Latin ‘orire’ (arising/ origin) and on into words like order, organ(ise), the French word for gold ‘or’, ore, orchestra and so on. 

Indeed as the Sumerian word for the order of the creation stemmed from its word for light, so did the first civilization of the Sumerians, (and city) Ur represent this principle, of organisation against entropy and chaos. The modern word ‘urban’ traceable back to the Latin ‘urbis’ means city; or in its original meaning in Sumer, ‘place of light’, whether in prosaic or sacred terms. . . The Latin word ‘ora’ likewise meaning ‘cord’ holds similar meaning of encirclement and protection; seen in the Egyptian, Mesopotamian representations of deities holding a ‘cord of protection’ which defined the limit or boundary of the universe, or the kingdom. This is the origin of references perhaps in the Bible, and the Book of Enoch of angels holding a ‘measuring cord’, (Rev11.1/1Enoch61, etc);

This last point shows the links between the ‘Or’ stem and cord /chord words based upon ‘line’ or ‘axis’-related meanings. Words such as – course, cause, corridor, career, core and even kernel, as well as the French ‘coeur’, meaning ‘heart’, etc. Interestingly the sense of this word as the central seed or axis-line/point within a circle or spiral reflects upon the 1 & 0 symbolism present throughout antiquity, in such symbols as stone rows, menhirs, obelisks and circles – and likewise to the world-leading Particle Accelerator/ Large Hadron Collider at CERN, in France… 

And indeed it might be possible theoretically to link the 1 and the 0 with the atom itself, whereby the 1 represents the ‘male’ (+) proton at the centre of it, and the 0 the orbital pathways of the circling ‘female’ (-) electron. The words of Jesus when he said ‘I am the Alpha (1) and Omega (0)’ may thus be related to the atom, and the cosmos. Symbols of the circle with a dot in the centre were of course representative of God in antiquity, showing the centre point of the creation, and the circle or bounds of the cosmos as it emanated outwards. 

* to touch just briefly on the question of  the skeletal system, and meanings ascribed to it in the Taoist philosophies, the conceptual symbol of Tai Chi (or Taiji as it is also termed) offers an additional perspective; the bones are perhaps overlooked in their essential role within the human body, (and are seen predominantly as emblems of death in the history of art) in the West, while Eastern philosophy focusses more on the nature of the bones as foundations upon which the (temple of the) body is built. In modern Chinese martial arts and healing/ philosophy it transpires that not only are they an essential part of the human body, but within the hardness/ ‘lifelessness’ of the skeleton/ bones, the ‘quickness of life’ itself is created, in the formation of blood cells within the bones’ central marrow; this is symbolic or representative perhaps of the continual cycles contained within the Tai Chi symbol, where all things evolve to their limit, (female yin; softness, receptivity, calm; and male yang; hardness, light, activity, strength, etc) and then return in the direction of (re)balance and new growth. The small dots in the two halves of the symbol indicate that each state always contains within itself the seeds of its opposite/corollary, which rise and fall in time with the cycles of the Tao, thus creating a symbol of the positive, negative, and balanced forces of the cosmos.

Didcot; the meeting point of all three lines.

From Harwell another 2 or so miles along the Michael and Mary line reaches the centre of the three national lines, at Didcot, Oxford; from Lands’ End the line has travelled a distance of 223.01 miles/ 358.90km. A figure which is very close to the √5, 2.236, and therefore close to phi, as √5 + 1 /2 = ϕ.

This quiet unassuming English country-side town may well represent the ‘heart of England’, in geometric terms, approximately 15 miles south of Oxford. In keeping with the high tech (and energies) theme, it appears that Frank Williams world beating F1 racing team, Williams Racing, was based in Didcot for much of its history, from the 1980’s onwards. Team Williams has won more Grand Prix and constructors championships (nine constructor’s championships and seven driver’s championships) from its small South Oxfordshire base than any other team in history apart from Ferrari (19/16 with an additional 20 years racing). The team was based at the Basil Hill Road site (5-600metres from the line) where there is still a museum of Williams Team GP cars etc. Apparently, Williams are now based about five or so miles west in Grove, Oxford, (in the parish of the Vale of the White Horse, named after the Uffington glyph some miles further west). 

Curiously, the housing estate where the three lines meet, a remarkably down-to-earth and prosaic, indeed ‘hidden’ centre-point of England, is composed of roads named after rivers in all areas of England; Mersey, Avon, Colne, Usk, Cam, Derwent, Weaver, Beaulieu, Trent, Humber, Tyne, Tamar, Wandle, Cherwell, Orwell, Tweed, Lune, Stort, Ray, and the Yare (at which point this 366 mile-long line begins/ends, where it reaches the sea at Great Yarmouth. Several roads here are named after rivers in Devon, where the line passes through, such as Weycroft (on the r. Axe), Exe, Yealm, Ottery, Torridge; the Dart, along with the Plym, Tavy, Avon and Ashburn, as we have seen, originate up on Dartmoor, through which the M/M line runs.

This all reinforces the sense of the place where the three major ley-lines of England meet as being a geographic meeting-place (or locus point), be that of counties, rivers or energy lines… while the down-to-earth character of the centre point of England may be seen as a distinct benefit in avoiding major urban build-up around it.

Moving onwards, just approximately 2miles (at 225.55m) we find a highly ‘significant’ historical place; in the vicinity of Little Wittenham, the Wittenham Clumps, as named, and the Sinodun Hillfort, comprise an area archaeologists have found evidence was a community of buildings and homesteads since pre-Roman times, circa 500 Bce. (from at least, obviously…) 

There are some quite fascinating points to make about this area. Firstly, this place is within 0.9 miles! (226.41m) of the ϕ point of the entire 366.35m line;

so 366.35/ 225.55 (Sinodun)   = 1.62 24  (ie -0.004 diff. to ϕ 1.618033). The phi point is;

366.35/ 226.41 = ϕ    

366.35/ 139.93 =  ϕ² (2.618033), 

Therefore the actual phi point of the line is at 226.41/139.93 miles along.

As can be seen from the map, the Michael and Mary line passes directly across Round Hill and Sinodun hill on the north side while besides these there is a third hill, Castle Hill, marked by another Neolithic/possibly Iron Age burial site, Brightwell Barrow.

 *As ‘Neolithic and early Bronze Age Oxfordshire’, by Gill Hey (2006 oxfordarcheology.com) states, the indications from Oxford University digs at various sites are that these type of (long)barrows, long-enclosures, stone works and circles etc, date from around the middle of the 4th millennium Bce (ie, c.3600 Bce; the same time-frame as the start of the Sumerian civilization, and the dating of the earliest Neolithic long barrows such as West Kennet in Avebury)… clearly a time of innovations and developments around the world. Sitchin places the length of the orbit of Niburu, the ‘planet of the gods’ as 3,600 years; and links the effects of its being within the solar system to times of great significance (and turbulence) within human history; at the time of Christ which coincided with the end of the age of Aries and the start of that of the Piscean age, 3,600 Bce (which saw the beginning of civilization with the Sumerian innovations of agriculture and cities), 7,200Bce (in the Fertile Crescent, the domestication of plants and farm-stock animals, and beginnings of crop-sowing), 10,800 Bce (instability at the polar caps after the end of the last ice-age/ the Deluge) and so on. 

 A few hundred metres away down the hill’s slope runs the river Thames, and at the base of the hills themselves lays the small village of Little Wittenham, Oxford. The small, Norman church of St Peter’s has the amazing postcode of OX14 4RA.

This deserves some consideration. In other words, it may be viewed as; Ox; spine/world-tree/axis (see Etymology) (indeed the Oxford coat-of-arms contains a tree – heaven/ earth axis – an ox – foundation/ backbone – and an upright sheaf of wheat – fertility – in a diagonal ascending line).

From the Bible comes the central number of 144, the number of the Heavenly City and peoples (12 x12,000), from the Bible, and in the Ad Triangulum system (see the Vesica section); 14.4 is the number of each ‘building-block’ of the system formed by dividing the Vesica Piscis hexagonally, so that 14.4 3 x 6 = 86.6 (the √3/ 2 ie 1.732/2) which is the ratio of the height of the central axis of the Vesica. And additionally, 14.4 x 6 = 864, the related harmonic closely associated with the Sun and with light. And lastly, Ra is the Egyptian God of the Sun, (and part-building block of the word Pyramid, as well as Ram in Hebrew denoting higher-dimensional, or ‘exalted’ divine power). 

Of further related interest is that (according to online sources, it is possible to see from the top of Sinodun Hill three miles north-west, just across the Thames, to the Joint European Torus project, located at the Culham Centre; part of the UK Atomic Energy Authority and the ‘UK’s national lab for nuclear fusion research’ – primarily involving magnetic-field controlled plasma physics shaped by a circular torus* (rather like the energetic processes at the heart of the Sun, whereby fusion causes atoms to bond, creating elements of increasing atomic weight, releasing energies including light in the process) – in the torus this is achieved in a controlled and sustained high-pressure magnetic field/ atmosphere.

So it appears that yet another extremely hi-tech site/ research lab is situated in close proximity to these major energy pathways. In fact the history of tokamaks the original Russian nuclear fusion design models, is interwoven with the history of the JET at the Culham Centre, as well as Harwell, (indeed the British Atomic Energy body has facilities still at both of these centres). International co-operation and combined studies/ conferences of the International Atomic Energy Agency etc, and further efforts have seen interaction of these leading fusion centres around the world. Whether that is still the situation nowadays is obviously another question. An amusing example is when the first Russian tokamak at Kurchatov in the 1970’s started producing amounts of power never previously attained anywhere, curiosity in the international scientific research community was high. To validate their claims, the authorities there in 1975 allowed a team from the British fusion research programme to observe and measure the tokamak’s output; these scientists had the nickname in Oxford of ‘The Culham Five’, in ironic tribute to the infamous spy ring of the Cambridge Five, working from the 1930’s to 1970’s.

See the Daily Telegraph 9/2/22 for news on the JET setting a new world record for the amount of energy produced by a nuclear fusion tokamak. A planned international effort called the ITER is due to be operational sometime in 2025, and is predicted to be ten times the internal volume of JET, thus creating high expectations for the facility based in France.

With regard to the lines proposed by this chapter, this internationally renowned advanced physics research centre at Culwell is located at 51.65°N(!), 1.23°W(!) of Greenwich/ 32.36°W(!) of the Giza site/Prime Meridian – less than 100 metres distance from the vertical N-S line of the three. Also it is visible from the Land’s End-Great Yarmouth SW-NE Michael line, as well as being within ‘line-of-sight distance’ of the NW-SE Holyhead-Hastings line. Thus Culham is sited in quite in what is an incredible confluence of circumstances. (Perhaps as Utnapishtim resided in ‘The Faraway’ at the ‘confluence of the rivers’ when he and his wife were granted eternal life in Gilgamesh, in the tale of the Deluge in Tablet XI – and likewise, in the Qur’an, Surah 18.65-81, where Moses and his companion sat and rested; shown to be a (mythically) powerful place in its narrative –“at the point where the seas met, they forgot their salted fish, and it made its way into the sea, slipping away wondrously” (18.60-64); clearly an allegory of some significance).

*(On a footnote, the work of the JET at Culham – and all magnetic confinement fusion work sounds considerably like the physics of the Bell, alleged to have been part of the Nazi war effort /research in 1940’s Germany/occupied Europe. The Bell was said to have consisted the following; a bell-shaped chamber with two counter-turning shells was filled with gases/ fluids which were condensed and turned into a plasma (a volume of gas in an electrically-charged state) and then placed within a magnetic (torus) field. From there vorticular energies could further be applied to create immense energies.

 The inspiration for this was said to either come from Sanskrit Vedic texts describing the creation and uses of vimanas, ‘mercury vortex’ powered craft able to fly not just above Earth, but between planets; or alternatively, from the inner physics of Tibetan ringing bowls, a possible source of inspiration. (Though it is possible that such claims as the existence of the Bell may have been designed with such ‘esoteric’ related details, in order to lend plausibility).

It is clear though, the Nazis had a very serious interest in both ‘esoteric’ or ‘arcane’ western scientific subjects as well as Eastern occult concepts, and their potential applications to modern technology, and a corresponding large number of highly talented scientists working on their weapons programmes; so much so that it is considered that by the end of the war they were only months away from having operational ‘wonder-weapons’ of various sorts (including jets, radar-invisibility materials, long-range missiles targeting America, radio guidance systems, fuel-air bombs, nuclear bombs in theory, lasers, and transistors necessary for computing). That their scientists were valuable is proved by the post-war scramble by America and Russia for their weapons scientists, intelligence and research records, and examples of technologies. General Patton and the lead American divisions in Germany in 1945 indicated the importance attached to this by diverting their path away from conquering and entering Berlin ahead of the Russians to the area instead around Pilsen, (near Bohemia south Germany) just inside occupied Czechoslovakia where the Skoda works was located; for to avoid Allied bombing General Kammler had allegedly based much of the Reich’s ‘black- weapons’ programme central works and bureaucracy there. 

(One ironic indication of the depth of talent of German research institutes and physicists etcetera, is that when Nazi Germany targeted Jewish scientists working in their research institutes and universities in the 1930’s, they forced the resignation and exile of more than six (subsequent) Nobel Prize winning physicists – who were thus forced to emigrate to work as (nuclear) research scientists in the nations which became the ‘Allies’ after 1939).

This Nazi focus on ‘revenge ‘-weapons (V1 and V2 meant ‘revenge weapon 1’ etc); and indeed the post-1945 rush to space in the US and USSR (combining both sides’ pursuit of ‘valuable’ Nazi scientists and technological information and materials, plus then rocketry/ ICBM production, atomic fission physics, and nuclear weapons production as it did) – calls to mind the saying of Jesus;

Matthew 11.12*; The kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent shall take it by force.    

It is almost a certainty that if Nazi Germany had developed operative nuclear weapons before the Allies, they would have used them to secure victory – especially considering the clear hopelessness of their military situation for the last two years of the war.

*(As we have seen, 360 / 2 / ϕ = 111.2 , or 36/ 32.36 = 1.112)

To return to Little Wittenham; it is said (on Wikipedia) there are myths of buried treasure under a hollow on Sinodun Hill, in something called ‘the money-pit’. As we see in the section on China and the Taoist arts such as acupuncture and Tai Chi, in the martial arts epithets such as ‘gold’, or ‘jade’ or ‘pearl’ are used for form-names, not-so-much literally as metaphorically, to indicate the character of certain internal aspects of energy and physiology – this constituting ‘alchemy’ in its primary sense. 

In this manner there is certainly an argument for the same applying here; for in being a major point on the M/M line, it can be said to be a ‘way-station’/ repository, or cross-over point of the cosmic energies that flow through the Earth – containing as such the ‘golden’, or refined energies of the Sun…

As to the common mythos of buried hoards of treasure being guarded by dragons, this too perhaps can refer to the underlying (non-material) reality; as the ley-lines in question have been called ‘dragon lines’, or ‘serpent lines’ by virtually all of the foremost civilizations of antiquity; the ‘serpent/lion of the ground’ of Gilgamesh, and the Sphinx (ditto) facing eastwards on the 30° parallel. Hence the combination of Pi in the numbers of chapters and verses in the Bible (Genesis/ John3.14/15, etc) with mentions of Serpents; akin to the line the Sphinx (the ‘lion of the ground’) looks along from West to East on the 30th Parallel.

In a strange – or perhaps completely natural – confluence of events, the Wittenham Clumps have gained a lot of attention in the past, particularly the 20^th century. Most interestingly, the famous WW1 artist, Paul Nash spent a great deal of time painting these hills and surrounding area, his collected paintings of Wittenham being published in the 1920’s in the book ‘The Pyramids of England; Nash and Wittenham Clumps’*

As the book-title reflects, Nash said in 1930 of these small hills in a quiet corner of S.Oxford; “Ever since I can remember them the Clumps had meant something to me. I felt their importance long before I knew their history. They were the pyramids of my small world”. (P.Nash, Outline).

He also said, “In the painter’s mind, this place has a compelling magic”. In the 1930’s he visited, and painted pictures of Avebury, (and Silbury Hill), namely ‘Druid Landscape’ and ‘Landscape of the Megaliths’ (standing stones/ ancient monuments). Furthermore, that the hills and area reminded him of ‘a beautiful legendary country haunted by old gods long forgotten…!

From here, we shall skip over most of the rest of this line, for reasons of brevity;* although there is little doubt that any close study of the line through the counties of Bedfordshire, Herts, Norfolk and so on, will reveal many points worthy of attention.

* One slightly surreal coincidence is at Whipsnade Zoo in Bedfordshire, just west of Luton (shortly after the point at Ivinghoe where the Beacon marks one end of the Ridgeway ancient track-way); for as the diagram shows, there is an embedded glyph (stone, or chalk or painted ground-image) of a lion, obviously modern(!) What is curious is the description of the serpent in Gilgamesh, (which steals the Plant of Life from him by the pool/stream in the very last chapter of the epic), as the ‘lion of the ground’, ie serpent. This metaphorical use of the serpent across antiquity (especially in cosmic# cultures) was among other things used for describing ‘dragon lines’ or ‘ley-lines’, energetic pathways across the world… 

The Sphinx at Giza, set on the 30^th parallel looking eastwards to the rising Sun, is thus placed in similar intent, in our view, to draw attention to the existence of these subtle pathways/ energy fields; one epithet of the Sphinx, from antiquity, was that of ‘the Lion of the Ground’ – gazing  toward the source of the life-forces – the Sun, symbol; the lion – which travel through the earth’s surface, along indeed, a ‘lion of the ground’; ie. a ‘dragon-‘, or ‘serpent- line’.

To return to the glyph; as can be seen, the 366.35 mile long line passes within approximately 100 metres. . . this is quite amazing, in fact it is fair to say, a further example of the many strange coincidences which occur along these lines. To return to a previous point, the latitude of this ‘lion of the ground’ glyph is, of course, 51.84°N – and 0.555°E (of Greenwich).

A curious point arises within the vicinity of Luton, at a site called Linmere, on the outskirts of the town (4-5 miles north of the line), at a point besides the M1, and a short distance east of Watling Street as it passes through Dunstable to the west of Luton on its route north westwards into Wales, where the western part of the road or trackway ran to Anglesey and Holyhead! (Where Watling Street and the Michael and Mary line intersect at Dunstable is just a field or two lengths away from the church of St. Mary the Virgin, Kenworth). The significance of Linmere has only just become apparent, following archaeological work in 2023 – to quote from a Guardian article of 3^rd July 2023, “A prehistoric site with as many as 25 monumental pits has been discovered in Bedfordshire to the astonishment of archaeologists … They date from the Mesolithic period, 12,000 to 6,000 years ago, a time from which few clues…of our ancestors survive. The pits offer extraordinary new insights. They are in alignment and clustered around former stream channels, suggesting a spiritual significance. Such is the scale of this site that it has more such pits than anywhere else in England or Wales, including Stonehenge”… and so on. It states the archaeologists are studying whether the pits are aligned in any significant ways, such as “to any major celestial events, such as the solstice”, and whether their placement “could mark an important part in the landscape”.

From this point the line travels eastwards on into Hertfordshire; midway between here and Great Yarmouth lies the town of Bury St Edmonds, home of one of the great Christian monasteries and then cathedrals in early Christian times. Continuing churches named after Mary the abbey complex at Bury St Edmonds is home to the church of the ‘Blessed Virgin Mary’, which has several architectural features of significance. 

Richard Heath writes that not only were two of this era’s main Christian centres on the Michael and Mary line, namely Glastonbury and Bury St Edmonds, but also that from here a line may be drawn at a right-angle northwards to another centre of early Christianity, at Durham, where another cathedral was built from 1093 onwards. Many associations existed at this time between the communities at Durham, and those at Holy Isle, Lindisfarne, where the North-South energy line is anchored. (And which like Bury St Edmonds has a church named ‘St Mary the Virgin’, one of many instances to be found along the energy-lines of England)… 

Heath assesses of the works of architecture created by the Benedictines and Cistercians in the Gothic movement were linked to patterns of geodetic significance, meaning that “the ancient centres where the Benedictines sited cathedrals and churches were part of a megalithic network of sacred sites that had been organized upon the Earth, sometimes with a twelve-fold geometry”. It is also broadly accepted that Bernard of Clairvaux, head of the Benedictines, founder of the Cistercian brotherhood, and nephew of one of the nine founder-members of the Templars (Andre de Montbard, who was later the fifth Grand Master of the Templar Order) was one of the founders of the Gothic innovations and style.  

The Templars were founded in 1118Ad to protect pilgrims travelling from Europe to the Holy Lands after the First Crusade. For the first 11 years they were established in Jerusalem at the site of the Al-Aqsa Mosque, upon the Temple Mount site, with only their nine founding members. We have already seen the Temple Mount is where Solomon’s Temple, and the Eben Shettiyah (the Foundation Stone over the ‘abyss’) within its basement, were located in antiquity; at the ‘omphalos’ point which placed Jerusalem at ‘the centre of the world’, (an epithet which has changed little with the millennia). Bernard’s stewardship of the Council of Troyes in 1129 Ad ensured the Templar order was granted a Rule, effectively ensuring them Papal authority as an order, after existing for eleven years in Jerusalem with just the nine members! The many connections within this story between members of various orders, and noble families within the Burgundy region and throughout France, point to there being many esoteric links between the Templars, related French orders, and with the Islamic orders responsible for the Temple Mount in Jerusalem, the third most sacred site in the Islamic faith. Thus it is highly possible this was the route by which the ‘cosmic wisdom’ of antiquity was transferred, or shared with the West; this is primarily how the Gothic cathedrals were designed, sited and built with extraordinarily high levels of consciousness across the following two or three centuries.

And this was accepted in prior centuries; so no lesser an expert than Sir Christopher Wren wrote; 

“That which we call the Gothic manner of architecture…I think should with more reason be called the Saracen style, for these people wanted neither arts nor learning; and after we in the west lost both, we borrowed again from them, out of their Arabic books; what they with great diligence had translated from the Greeks”… (Report on St Paul’s).

And supporting Heath’s assertion of a connection in this respect to a megalithic network of holy sites, it is true certainly many Christian churches and cathedrals in Europe were built on sites which had already been places of worship for hundreds, if not thousands of years before then; sites developed by the druids or Celts which appear to be to a wider geomantic plan. Chartres cathedral for example, according to Strachan is estimated to have been the site of a temple dedicated to pre-Roman church sacred to the Carnutes, who had a druid grotto dedicated to a virgin they believed would conceive and bear a son. There was also a sacred well (!) which can still be seen in the crypt. In fact, he writes that from the time of the pre-Christian Carnutes there was a Druid grotto and well sacred to a Celtic virgin who would conceive and bear a son. The gallery, the chapel in the crypt, and the nearby well are all dedicated to ‘Notre-dame de Sous Terre’, or ‘Our Lady Under the Earth’, a Black Madonna made of sapient pear-wood, while a second figure, Notre Dame de Pilar. a carved walnut figure of the holy mother Mary and infant Christ is in a north chapel of the cathedral. The names of the two Madonnas are noteworthy, bearing in mind that the significance granted to these two figures appears to unite both Christian and pre-Christian ideas, of the sacred feminine, of the powers of the earth, and underground streams and wells. It is also of interest that the pillar (or ‘pylon’) was a symbolic part of many edifices in antiquity, symbolizing both the powers of the Sun, of male energy, and of sacred architecture, in Egypt in particular. For example, at Luxor, Karnak, Edfu and other sacred sites, where the double pylon gateway was a depiction of two hills between which the sun set and then rose – thus symbolizing rebirth and fertility. In fact the name of Heliopolis, meaning ‘city of the Sun’, or in its native name of ‘On’, stemmed possibly from ‘iunu’, meaning  ‘the Pillars’, (or possibly from the Sumerian An-u, ie ‘heavenly’), so that this meaning may link to ‘obelisks’ and ‘pillars’ similarly.

Further back in the pre-Christian eras, Strachan states there may have been a dolmen on the site at Chartres, dating back to megalithic times circa 2400 Bce. Virtually all similar sites throughout history were believed to be built upon heaven-earth ‘omphalos’ points, which were thus consistently placed at the locus, or centre-point, of all building work – this being one of architecture’s most long-standing tenets, from China, to India, Egypt, Sumer, Israel and the Levant, Greece, Rome, Europe and onwards. 

Another curious point is that Chartres cathedral is oriented not to the East, but at 45° between North and East, from south-west to north-east! –much like the Michael and Mary leyline, (although its angle of orientation is 61° to the equator…) As Strachan notes, this particular 45° NE orientation is also that of Stonehenge, and the midsummer sunrise.

At Great Yarmouth in Norfolk the energy-line crosses the mouth of the river Yare and then through the site of the Minster, ending (or beginning) in the narrow area of land between river-mouth and sea.

– the harmonic related to the sun, as well as being its radius of 432,000 miles.   

Similarly 281.36 / 65.06 gives 4.3245, which is close to the actual radius of the sun at 432,450 miles/865,000 diameter, and also to the 43.3 / 86.6 % (√5/2, ie. 1.732/2) heights of the two triangles within the axis of the Vesica Piscis to the diameter of the two circles it is made of.

And further yet, this line’s numerical length is virtually identical to the cosmic# of 345.6,* which we have seen occur many times, from the geometry of the square and the circle (8.64 x 4); 1.728 x 20; π x11 (both cosmic#/harmonics); and found in the proportions of both the entire site at Giza, and as importantly, in the  geometries and measurements inside the Great Pyramid; particularly the Grand Gallery – the ‘spine’ of the edifice connecting the ‘body’ (ground and subterranean passages and chamber), and the ‘heart’ (Queen’s Chamber), with the ‘head’ (the Antechamber and the King’s Chamber), the length of the Grand Gallery being 346.1′ inches / 28.8 ft, as measured by Petrie. 

The first point of note is that Sandown Road on the Isle of Wight, as the (arbitrary) starting point of the line, turns out to be 1.1111°W of Greenwich!

The Isle of Wight has a diverse history, and like Holyhead, Anglesey, and the Holy Isle of Lindisfarne, has long been considered a place of some inner significance…Indeed the name, from Roman times on, apparently has a meaning along the lines of Vecta/vectis from Anglo-Saxon period Latin, meaning ‘place of the division’; quite appropriate for one end of the ‘axis’ of England/Gt Britain, considering the spine is the body’s major axis of symmetry.

And tracing the path of this central vertical line through England, between these two well-known islands, we find some very unusual, if not incredible data. . . concerned primarily with the fact that numerous major towns and cities have been situated in extreme proximity to this line from the earliest of times…

Aldermaston Atomic Weapons Establishment;

Firstly, having seen the proximity of the SW-NE line to Harwell Atomic Research Establishment, (passing within 50 metres from the fence) we find another incredible synchronicity; c.18 miles south of where the three lines meet at Didcot, the S-N line passes directly nearby two nationally renowned military/scientific sites, in Berkshire near to the border with Hampshire and Surrey; in the 1970’s and 80’s the British nuclear weapons programme of mainly Trident missiles was based at Aldermaston Atomic Weapons Establishment – at a distance of five or so miles to the Air Force base at Greenham Common (where the anti-Cruise nuclear weapon protests of the 1980’s took place. . .)  

The N-S line we are studying actually runs directly between the two sites, as the diagram shows, with Aldermaston the wedge-shaped area on the right, at a distance of c.1.5 miles from the line; and Greenham airbase (now reverted to commons) on the left.   

 – the (ex) nuclear weapons airfield/base of Greenham Common was at the centre of the feminist/ anti-nuclear protests of the 1980’s, something many people remember was a matter of immense national outcry and debate. And Aldermaston is the nationally recognised Atomic Weapons Establishment, and centre of the UK’s nuclear weapons systems, responsible for research, production, maintenance and decommissioning, etc. It also interacts with such agencies as the Los Alamos National Laboratories in the United States, noted already as where the world’s first nuclear bomb was produced/ constructed.

Aldermaston’s central role in Britain’s post-war nuclear weapons programme led to it being placed at the forefront of anti-nuclear protests from the 1950’s onwards, as seen in the ‘Aldermaston Marches’ (which involved protestors walking from Aldermaston AWE to London, circa 55 miles/89 km over a few days) The 1963 march garnered about 100,000 supporters by the time it reached Trafalgar Square. 

Incredibly, concerning this research complex’s proximity to the putative ‘telluric energy lines’ under consideration, there is (apparently) a related division of the AWE called Aldermaston/ Blacknest, which has developed the science of ‘forensic seismology’ for over forty years, enabling the detection of subterranean nuclear weapons tests across the world; contributing in this way to the Comprehensive Nuclear Test-Ban Treaty… this section is sited one mile west of Aldermaston, meaning it is approximately just 500 metres east of the energy-line we are studying. Aldermaston is the wedge-shaped area, while the seismology site is the nearest set of buildings to the line, a field or two’s length away…

Moving onwards from this, we may examine what appears to be the primary point of interest of this line, as delineated in the table above; namely, that an unusual number of major cities are located upon it:

Portsmouth/Gosport; since the Royal Navy rose to its position of pre-eminence between the 16th-19th centuries, in terms of politics and naval military power, the city of Portsmouth was the primary base for building/ housing/ repairing the British fleet on the Channel. 

 It may be argued that as a key component of British sea-power the port helped prevent the invasions by the Spanish Armada and Napoleonic French forces during these centuries, and saw the expansion of areas controlled by Britain in its (inevitably temporary) empire. Also no doubt it helped with organising the naval forces set to defend the nation against Hitler’s planned invasion in 1940-42, along the entire Channel coast.

Didcot centre; the Culham centre.

As mentioned in the previous section, the Joint European Torus lab is sited at the Culwell Centre, a few hundred metres to the east of this line, around 2.5 miles east of the NW-SE line, circa 2.9 miles distance from Didcot centre, as well as being only 2-3 miles north of Wittenham/ Sinodun where the SW-NE (ie Great Yarmouth) line runs; and indeed is visible from Wittenham/ Sinodun hill.

Oxford – as we saw with Sinodun Camp/Little Wittenham, the county of Oxford is home to the centre of the England in terms of this cosmic# geometric symbol, and likewise, the university town of Oxford is located directly upon the line, circa ten miles north of both Didcot and Wittenham/ Culham.

As can be seen, the line passes through/ beneath the halls and grounds of some of Oxford University’s colleges, in particular St Edmund’s College halls, as well as New College’s front grounds, 130 feet or so to the east of its college buildings (by CalcMap) …

The town of Oxford is a world-renowned centre of academic research and learning; Oxford University is one of the oldest, and most highly regarded universities in the world, and likewise attracts some of the most world’s intelligent students, and academics. It has been among the most prestigious universities across Europe (along with many others) and the world since the 16^th or 17^th centuries, possibly even longer. . .

Of equally great interest is the fact mentioned, that of the three copies of the Book of Enoch brought back from Ethiopia/Abyssinia by the explorer and antiquarian James Bruce (picture below) in 1774, one (or possibly two) of the three is owned by the Bodleian Library, part of the University of Oxford. This is c.300 metres distance from St Edmund’s Hall, and the North-South major axis/ line of England; a fitting place, bearing in mind the words in the Book of Enoch, regarding the activities of the angels observed by Enoch during his ‘journey to the heavens’ (ch.61, v1-2);

“And I saw in those days the angels were given measuring cords. . . they took to themselves wings, and went off to the North/ they have gone off to measure/ all their measures shall reveal the righteous, and the secrets of the earth “.

And the Bodleian Library is at 51.74°N (the angle of the Great Pyramid), and 32.38°W (of Giza/Prime Meridian), much like Didcot at 32.36°W. thus 360/ 32.38 = 11.11 8 (ie. the proportion of Giza-Oxford to a Great Circle of 360 degrees of the Earth’s circumference = 1/11.11)…

Coincidentally, the Temple of Luxor, one of the most sublime and conscious expressions of sacred geometry and metaphysical architecture of all the pyramids of Egypt, (according to Schwaller de Lubiscz and others) situated along the (left-hand side of the) Nile, is located 32.38°E of Greenwich, and 1.25°E of Giza (and 5°S). Likewise, the Bodleian is 1.25°W of Greenwich, and 32.38°W of Giza. (See Schwaller de Lubiscz for more on the esoteric philosophies encoded within the designs of the Temples of Luxor, and Karnak).

There is another fantastic coincidence based in Oxford; early archaeological explorations of the ancient site of Nineveh in the late 19th century led to the discoveries of thousands of ancient specimens of Assyrian culture, by and large inspired itself by the predecessor civilization Sumer. Among the (baked)-stone tablets are ones listing the (pre-deluge) King Lists of ancient Sumer – some of these incredible archaeological exhibits are housed at the Ashmolean Museum, likewise situated in the centre of Oxford. 

By the Oxford/ Northampton border, at Chipping Warden just north of Banbury, is an archaeological site reported in the Guardian on Jan 11th 2022, detailing the discovery and 12-month excavation of an entire Roman town – based at that time beside a 10-metre-wide Roman road – in a field situated on the planned HS2 route.* 

Archaeologists have found the road (Roman roads were surprisingly well-built usually), domestic and industrial buildings, over 300 coins, and the usual cups and plateware; jewellery, glassware, and Samian pottery imported from France…

*Over 1000 archaeologists have worked along the line of the HS2 high-speed railway route in a bid to gain as much scientific /cultural information and material as possible while the ground works are exposed during the construction process.

Incidentally, it was the Romans who introduced the distance measure of the mile/ yard/ foot/ inch, the ubiquity of the Roman Empire very possibly being the reason for the widespread adoption of what are known as ‘Imperial’ measures from then until now.

The N/S line we are studying runs through the fields within a mile of Chipping Warden. Whether the field is even closer to the line is not detailed at this point. Another (un)surprising coincidence, and incidentally, showing the close relationship over the centuries between some major roads of society, and the routes of energy lines through the landscape. . . a point which started the subject of ‘ley-lines’, as mentioned, with the publication in 1925 of ‘The Old Straight Track’ by the amateur archeologist, antiquarian, photographer and innovator/businessman(!) Albert Watkins. It was in this book that the term ‘ley-lines’ was first used, in his observations/theory about present-day towns being linked by a network of straight-lined ancient tracks from the Neolithic pre-Roman era up to the present. He was not necessarily a proponent of telluric energy-lines per se although he did believe the tracks were the result of man’s sensitivity to natural magnetic lines of force as they shaped the environment. An extension of his ideas occurred during the 1960’s and 70’s, with works by John Michell, Keith Crichlow and others… (see John Michell’s discussion of Watkin’s understanding of mankind’s Neolithic-era shaping of the landscape in ‘The View over Atlantis’)

*Further coincidences concerning HS2 archaeological sites include the discovery of three ‘utterly astounding’ and ‘exceptionally well-preserved’ Roman statues of a man woman and a child, at St Mary’s church, Stoke Mandeville, in Buckinghamshire (between Oxford and Luton). The finds were made beneath the grounds of this medieval church, built in 1080, abandoned in 1880, and demolished in 1966. The Roman discoveries indicate that many medieval churches were built upon existing religious/burial sites. . . something noted in the section on Chartres Cathedral, which has had several distinct temples/ churches built over previous edifices since pre-Christian times. Supporting the theory that such centres of religious activity are often higher dimensional ‘navel-points’ within the land; upon which architectural features are then built; very often according to the precepts of sacred geometry, connecting the cosmic energies which constitute the ‘life-force’ of the Earth, to the landscape, and the people who live there. As we saw in the Bible Chapter, the story of Jacob at Beersheba, the Well-of-Seven (as such a symbol of the ‘fount‘ of the octave of life) encapsulates these concepts – throughout history – based upon the setting of a foundation stone (ie using resonant materials for the building of a church/temple) at the site of the ‘omphalos’ point. 

Stoke Mandeville is approximately 1 mile from the Michael and Mary line. But the site of St Mary’s, just south of the town towards North Lee, is even closer. Estimating the distance at 900 metres, a little over half a mile. That some sites are found upon the line is not necessarily surprising though; overall, over 300 sites along the HS2 route have been excavated; expectations are that the field-work stage of the digs will be completed during 2023.

Sheffield; here the line passes right through the city centre, almost perfectly aligned with the streets. It travels along the A61 directly through the city centre within 30 metres of the Crown Court/main law courts, etc etc… We have seen the hypothesis that many Neolithic monuments from the era of 3600 – 2500 Bce such as Stonehenge, Glastonbury, Avebury, as well as French holy sites such as Mont St Michel, and Karnak, in Normandy, France, were placed consciously, according to the sensitivity of the druidic class to sites occupying significant positions within world energy grids and leylines.

This characteristic was not only to be found at Neolithic sites, but in later periods the constructions of abbeys, monasteries and cathedrals in the Christian era in England – especially the Cistercian and Gothic cathedrals (which seem to have been strongly influenced and guided by Near Eastern sources/ traditions of wisdom), in Europe, and in France and Britain. So it is a curious coincidence that not only does this leyline, the main vertical axis-line of England, run straight through Sheffield’s city centre, but immediately past Sheffield Cathedral, as well as directly through the centre of the Cathedral Church of St-Marie. It passes the cathedral at a distance of around 10 metres distance or so, ie beneath the tree on the east end of the cathedral garden on East Parade!

Harrogate; less than a mile from central point of this largely genteel N.Yorkshire spa-town.

Fountain’s Abbey, N.Yorkshire; seven miles or so north of Harrogate, and three miles east of Ripon lays the Middle Ages site of Fountains Abbey, originally one of the largest Benedictine and then Cistercian monasteries in the country founded in 1132, but left to fall into disrepair after the dissolution of the monasteries in 1540 by Cromwell and Henry VIII.

Again a connection to the Burgundy orders of the church to which Bernard of Clairvaux and other influential figures concerned with the Gothic movement belonged, in fact the Cistercian are known as the Bernardines after the man who expanded the order after its official incorporation in 1112 Ad in Citeaux, Dijon. Cistercian monasteries and churches were built in England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland, from 1131 onwards by Bernard and his order. Cistercian architecture gained a wide reputation for high quality, throughout Britain; Tintern Abbey and 12 others were built in Wales in the mid-12^th century; Rievaulx, Newminster, Meaux, Jervaulx and Fountains Abbeys were built in Yorkshire in 1130s and 40’s, Melrose Abbey and others in Scotland. In 1140 Saint Malachy of Ireland visited Clairvaux, returning later to Ireland to build several Cistercian abbeys, which are said to have spread learning and religion throughout the country. By 1145 the order was so important that Bernard was an advisor to king Louis VII’s brother, Henry of France; later that year also a Cistercian monk was elected to the papacy, Pope Eugene III ! By the time of Bernard’s death in 1153 there were 333 Cistercian abbeys throughout Europe, after which a halt was put to expansion… 

The grounds at Fountains Abbey include the ruins of the abbey, ruins of a Jacobean mansion, Fountain’s Abbey Mill which is the oldest surviving monastic corn mill in Europe, St Mary’s (!) Victorian church, and the Studley Royal estate owned by the Mallory family since 1452. The 500-acre grounds are a UNESCO World Heritage Site due to the importance of the buildings and historical events which occurred there.

From here the line travels through the beautiful and sparsely populated North Yorks farmland and then moors, broadly parallel to the (centuries old) Great North Road, the A1…

Newcastle; here the line crosses through the city environs approximately 1.5miles from the centre of the city, through the area just west of the centre (along the main arterial route West Road) and north of the Tyne.

An interesting point is found in the news of the discovery of another part of Hadrian’s Wall in the city’s centre; the wall was built by the Roman’s in AD80-100 to secure a line across Britain between the Roman conquered lands, and those of the Scots, who the Romans were unable to conquer/ pacify.

Running 73miles/117km, from Wallsend area 15 miles NE of Newcastle on the east coast, across Northumbria to Bowness-on-Solway on the West coast, many parts of it still remain standing, in well-preserved order today – and occasionally town building works uncover long-buried sections, and other archaeological wonders which are then studied, and hopefully protected, by various teams of archaeologists. 

As two articles in the Guardian (11 Aug 21/29 Jan 21) state, recent work has uncovered a previously unknown section of this 1,900-year-old wall, in the vicinity of Denton… there are preserved sections of the Wall in the (sub)urban areas around Benwell, Heaton and Denton Burn, in very close proximity to the recent discovery. For example, just along West Road towards the centre is a ‘temple of Antenocitus’.

The precise location is at the Silver Lonnen roundabout, (a short distance from where the West Road crosses the A1), ie the small roundabout just to the right of the line; with a sense of the inevitable perhaps, the N-S energy line runs within 300 metres of the Silver Lonnen roundabout, near also to the Denton Hall parts of Hadrian’s Wall…

 Consideration of the old English roots for the name ‘Silver Lonnen’ (from Wiktionary) indicates ‘lonnen’ is the straightforward old English/ Geordie term for ‘lane’ – and also possibly related to ‘line’. So the site may well be called ‘silver line’ effectively, an extremely appropriate name for the energy-line(s) being considered. (In the same way, ‘Lindisfarne’ holds potential meanings which refer to this sense, rather similarly to the meanings ascribed to Scotland’s Rosslyn/Roslin as ‘rose-line’…

Holy Isle, Lindisfarne. 

From Newcastle the line runs through Durham County, N.Shields, until it reaches Holy Isle, Lindisfarne. Possibly – in one interpretation – etymologically derived from line, brook, or stream, (lin-), which does reflect the nature of these energy pathways. As its name suggests, also, the island has for a long time been considered to be a place of retreat, healing, and sanctuary, and was a major centre of Christian learning from the 7^th century onwards.

What the underlying potential ‘meaning’ of these lines is must certainly be worthy of examination. One circumstance which may shed some light on the prevalence of so many major towns and cities laying directly on the course of the ‘main ley-lines of England’, comes from the newspaper the Guardian, in Nov 2021; in which it is reported marine researchers in Scotland have discovered that an underwater power-cable across the seabed has changed the behaviour of indigenous crab populations (!), for some reason causing them to congregate around the line of the cable…

It is probable that the crabs will not have had any conscious awareness of the effect of the power-line; it may be simply because the line is slightly warmer than its environment; or it could be that there is an electro-magnetic field around it which attracts certain species of sea creatures. Animals too can be attracted to EMF’s which then cause biological damage to their immune, endocrinal and reproductive systems, inner organs and so on. Birds’ fertility, egg-shells, endocrinal systems, and internal organs and so forth have been shown to suffer as a direct result of long-term exposure to such energy ‘fields’, to name but a few of the ways nature in its millions of forms suffers in the conditions of modern life. Studies on cows have likewise found damage to fertility, milk production and hormones, while lab tests have found disturbances in the immune system of mice (Bundyuk), metabolism, altered adrenal glands and hormone levels, and structural changes in the liver, spleen, testes and brain in white rats and rabbits (Dumanskij,1973!). Changes to the integrity of the blood-brain barrier have been found in mice (Salford), and irreversible sterility found also in mice also (Matras, 2001).  The health and behaviour of both bees, and ants have been found to be adversely affected by EMF’s, according to scientists such as Dr Andrew Goldsworthy, and Professor Martin Pall of Washington State University, at even the genetic level, effects which translate to impaired abilities, behaviours and populations. 

So the damage EMF’s of modern life cause to biological systems is to all appearances systemic in virtually every cell of the human body too, probably even the bones. In fact many studies of phone masts including 5G networks have indicated that sometimes they are being installed within distances of populations, or at outputs higher than recommended safety levels in ways that are likely to cause injury with long-term exposure; and some scientists have questioned even whether accepted’ safety levels are adequate, varying as they do around the world. The power of phone masts to affect us is often debated, in emotional ways; but in purely physiological terms there are reasons why they are not meant to be sited within 300 metres of children’s schools, or hospitals, etcetera.

Whether the sea-bed Scottish crabs are adversely affected by EMF’s is uncertain, but this must be a possibility. For humans too it is possible we are all attracted, instinctively (for the most part) to places with healthy or harmful energies, whether natural (most likely) – or artificial – without realizing it. We are biological life-systems, and as such respond on a subconscious or instinctive level to the complex interwoven networks of energy (and information) which exist all around us. This universal sensitivity to the energy of ‘place’ is what the art/ science of Feng Shui has proposed/studied for centuries…

Obviously, work and home conditions lead us to living wherever we do, meaning choice is always circumscribed one way or another, not least by our own insensitivity; but the basic premise, that both positive and negative energetic environments affect us primarily in the instinctive and subconscious centres, is becoming increasingly accepted. Especially as scientists refine their aims and methods for studying energies. Methods of studying the organizational effects on matter energy fields can have include that of cymatics, which points to both the harmony, and dissonance of certain vibrations and frequencies within our environments.

The fear is that the unrestrained industrial growth of modernity is playing an increasingly destabilizing role in the delicate balance of forces within which life exists.  As the consequences multiply with each year, the different systems of the Earth upon which we depend; damaged systems of weather and the atmosphere which support life, such as the Gulf Stream in the oceans, the hydrological process, monsoons etcetera, the quality of soils, pollutants and environmental degradation within the air, land and sea and rivers, the rapidly melting polar ice caps, damaged food-chains within Nature such as to the invertebrates, fish stocks, krill, plankton; and many other instances within Nature, are all showing evidence of great disequilibrium. Such immediate effects include droughts, reduced nutritional yields in crops, an increase in existing and new diseases, extinctions, weather events such as storms, lightning, flooding, earthquakes, hurricanes, wildfires decimating more forests, receding water tables and aquifers, increasing toxicity levels in countless environments, and of course, the ubiquity of micro-plastics in all living things…

What price we ultimately pay in our dependence on ever-increasing amounts of energy remains to be seen.

Putting this to one side, the theory regarding these meridians (channels) of life-force, which form the ‘backbone of England’ and its geometrically related other two primary lines, is that human beings tend naturally to be attracted to where ‘positive’ energy is found within the environment, both individually, and en masse. 

 And all things otherwise similar, energy lines, or cross-over node points/ key sites along the lines, within the Earth’s energy-grid(s) will, and do, exert some kind of unseen ‘subtle’ influence on the living environment, whether that effect is in the energetic towns and cities, or in the quietness and clean air of the countryside.

Line 3: Holy Isle, Anglesey: centre: Pevensey Bay, Suffolk. 

Holy Isle of Anglesey   – centre – Hastings;   

ab 186.39m  / 299.90km

The distances certainly contain some surprises; 186,282 miles/second, or 299,792 km/second is the speed of light (C) – (ie. 670 million miles an hour!) So C. divided by the length of line AB, from Holyhead to the Didcot centre point, at 299.90km, is 999.64, substantially close to a tidy 1000 (a difference less therefore of 108 metres total would make AB exactly 1/1000^th of the Speed of Light).

Considering the importance we have seen of C, the speed of light to matters of cosmic #, this line and the others would appear to be in some resonance with energies of such value(s)… in other words it is unsurprising to find a correlation between the speed of light, and energy-line pathways which channel the solar and sidereal energies of the cosmos through the surface of the planet. Again also we find some form of connection to the Great Pyramid at Giza; having noted the speed of light to be 299,792 km a second, it is a curious fact that the Great Pyramid is located at 29.9 792° N of the Equator, (making it the smallest of distances from the 30^th Parallel). And this circumstance is pointed to in other features of the Giza site – just to the pyramids’ side along a causeway is one of the oldest monumental artworks in the world, the Great Sphinx of Giza. And the Sphinx, also known as ‘the lion of the ground’ (which refers back to the epithet given to the serpent in Gilgamesh which steals the Plant of Eternal Life, and more generally equates the Sphinx to the powers of the sun as they vitalize the Earth, through ‘serpent’ or dragon-lines), looks directly eastwards along the 30^th parallel to the point on the horizon where the sun ‘rises’ each day.

This line begins (and ends) in the northwest of Wales, at Holyhead Mountain, Holy Island, a small island separated by the Cymyran Strait from the larger island of Anglesey, which is separated from the mainland by the Menai Straits.

This ‘sacred’ island has been home to religious figures and orders since the 5th century at least; to quote ‘orthochristian.com’* on their site on Anglesey, Christian hermits being known to have lived there since then at least. Orthodox orders and churches flourished, even through the 9^th century when Viking incursions took place. This widespread activity over the centuries …’is evidenced by numerous surviving early churches, monastic ruins, holy wells, ancient crosses, and hermits’ cells on the island’.

St.Cybi’s main church is an unusual edifice in the town of Holyhead, Holy Island, built within the walls of an empty Roman fort at the harbour. Holyhead mountain, where this line starts, is the site of a Neolithic hillfort, which the Romans likewise built a fort on.

The accompanying religious picture (icon) of St.Seiriol and St.Cybi (also spelled Cubi !) shows them in front of a church on Anglesey with a river pouring from its doors! What the original intent of this religious image was uncertain, but it is clearly an excellent symbol for the line(s) we are looking at here, resonant of the names of Silver Lonnen, and Lindisfarne, etc. Likewise the fact the geometries of the three lines resemble those of the cube, hexagon, star of David and so on, repeatedly adapted throughout history in various linguistic/ artistic/ architectural examples; for example, the Holy-of-holies in the Temple of Jerusalem.

The island has a high number of standing stones (ie. monoliths/menhirs etc), cairns, tumuli, barrows, stone circles and so forth; (wider Anglesey likewise has many such features, one of the most notable is Brynn Celli Ddu. This is a burial chamber dating from c.3000Bc, aligned with the skies so that the sun shines through a portal at dawn into the chamber on the summer solstice, June 21st. Brynn Celli Ddu also features two concentric stone circles, a quite unusual Neolithic design).

In stark contrast with the previous line, the course of this route travels predominantly over rural land, from start to finish; there is virtually not a single town or city on this line – a characteristic which may actually indicate that the role, or nature, of this line, is in some ways different to that of the other two – particularly the North-South line between the Isles of Wight, and Lindisfarne.

 So it may be possibility that this line is more ‘passive’, or ‘receptive’, or ‘feminine’ in nature, theoretically. Clearly the possibility exists that, as Gurdjieff stated, all (cosmic) phenomenon divide naturally and completely into three aspects, positive negative and neutral, (balanced/ in equilibrium).

Though speculative, this could see the 3 lines, therefore, as with all three-fold divisions, functioning as (predominantly) positive/ negative/ and balancing lines (+/-/=). One interpretation might be SW-NE is the +ve line, NW-SE the -ve, and N-S the = equilibrium or combined energies, much as the spine reconciles the energies of the body (-) and the head (+). This can only be a tentative theory at present though…

Tracing the course of this largely rural line, there are very few points of ‘note’, perhaps unusually few for a line of around 440 kilometres length… and virtually no towns or cities along the line’s path.

An early point of note is the town of Caernafon, or Caernavon, situated at the point where Anglesey Island connects to the mainland (ie at the Menai Strait). This town has existed since prehistoric times, ie before the Roman invasions of Britain in the first century Ad. A fort was built by the Romans in Ad 80, to defend against attacks by the indigenous tribes of Britain, in particular that of the Ordovices in northwest Wales. Its importance was reaffirmed in the 13^th and 14^th century, being part of Britain that the Norman forces of William the Conqueror could not overcome. . . Wales retained it’ independence until 1283, when the Tudor dynasty united most of Britain under the English crown. Due to the town’s history and character it has been designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Having noted the occurrence of several places along the lines related to the etymological sense of sinew, sine-wave, sentience and Sion, it is fitting that the river which Caernavon is sited on as it enters the sea is the river Seiont. Caernavon’s pre-Roman name was Afon Seiont, and by 483Ad it was known as Caer Segeint (‘fort Seiont). 

 After Holy Island and Caernavon, the line’s route runs immediately through the Snowdonia National Park, indeed it runs within one mile of the edge of Mt Snowdon, the highest peak in southern Great Britain. From Snowdonia the line traverses mid-Wales until it reaches the English border in the area of Malvern, situated in the middle of a triangle between Hereford, Worcester and Gloucester. 

As John Michell first noted (diagram from Heath, left), it was a site near to this area that the ‘Perpetual Choirs’ of ancient druidic Britain were centred; the sites of Llantwit Major, Stonehenge, Glastonbury, Goring-on-Thames and six others all spaced 38.2 miles apart formed a ten-pointed figure with the centre at Whiteleaved Oak, near Ledbury and Malvern. Obviously, the name of the site had associations with the oak tree within the druid religion. Likewise we have seen the importance of the oak in etymological terms of words in virtually all languages related to Proto-Indo-European, with the central meaning of the oak as symbol of the ‘world-tree’, which forms an axis between the heavens and the earth. 

 In keeping with the importance of this spiritual centre all three towns mentioned above had cathedrals built in them in the 13^th and 14^th centuries – and still have a choral festival each year called the ‘Three Choirs’. . .

(Malvern is also home of the extremely hi-tech Royal Radar Establishment, c1.5miles from the line; having noted the importance of quartz, and silica in Cornwall, and Dartmoor, it is noteworthy that a scientist at the RRE at Malvern, Geoffrey Dummer was one of the first scientists in the world to propose building an integrated circuit on a chip; he gave a symposium in Washington D.C in 1952, among others, thus attaining a place in the history of the development of the computer).

From here the line runs on through the county of Worcester, the Cotswolds and N.Oxford for around 40 miles until it reaches Didcot.         

From the centre point at Didcot in a south-easterly direction, there are two points of interest as it runs to the English Channel near Hastings, in fact at Pevensey Bay, Sussex – and one of slightly less importance, in mid-Berkshire, where the church of St Mary is built directly on top of the line, much like the named churches on the Michael and Mary line(s).

The more important feature is a couple of kilometres from the line, near to the where it completes its journey (in Suffolk) to the English Channel. This is the ground-figure, or geo-glyph, of the Long Man of Wilmington.

This is c.3-4 miles distance from the line, and around 6 miles distance to Pevensey Bay. But there is a curious point here. If we note the end of the line is at Pevensey (at 51.8141°N),** (see angle of GP = 51.74-84°,and in the  Squared Circle the presence of 51.81° which is phi  (ϕ 61.81) -10 as each quarter of the circle is 90°), we can see that the figure is precisely, to within 0.003 of a degree, at the same latitude to Pevensey beach; (coordinates now are written in a mix of sexagesimal-derived 360 degrees in a circle), and each degree with decimal thousandths, or more, rather than each degree having the sexagesimal 60 minutes and each minute having 60 seconds (1/3600 of a degree). 

 So though the points are separated by 5-6 miles, which is equal to 9-10,000m/30,000ft, as the diagram indicates, the latitude of Pevensey beach is less than 300metres north of the figure at Wilmington. A difference little more than a field’s length to where this national line meets the sea approximately 6 miles eastwards.

This is another curious coincidence concerning sitings of Neolithic monuments, potentially from the druidic eras, to what some believe is a specific geomantic lattice/matrix, or ground-plan – be that across Britain, or Europe; one positive effect since then has been that the most important node-points in Britain have been left undeveloped/ unbuilt upon by societal building programmes. And as this is for a period measured not in centuries, but thousands of years, and considering the relatively densely populated spaces of much of the British Isles, this is no small achievement. (Indeed, archaeological studies of the Long Man figure have found traces of Roman pieces of pottery and tile within the outline, indicating they probably continued replenishing the figure from earlier times, as is the case even today – the presence of several cairns and long barrows besides the Long Man, on Windover Hill indicate the area held considerable cultural and religious significance from the Neolithic era onwards, up to as early as 3,500Bce.

With regard to this point John Michell quotes on p.6 of his book ‘The view over Atlantis’ from the writings of the 17^th century antiquarian and freemason Sir William Stukeley, one of whose drawings of Avebury and surrounding sacred sites (described as ‘his drawing of the twin symbols of the alchemical fusion, the serpent passing through the circle’ by Michell) is reproduced earlier in this section;

“The ancients did indeed make huge temples of immense pillars in colonnades, like a small forest; or vast concaves of cupolas to represent the heavens; they made gigantic colosses to figure out their gods; but to our British Druids was reserv’d the honour of a more extensive idea, and of executing it. They have made plains and hills, valleys, springs and rivers contribute to form a temple of three miles in length. They have stampe’d a whole country with the impress of this sacred character, and that of the most permanent nature. The golden temple of Solomon is vanish’d, the proud structure of the Babylonian Belus, the temple of Diana at Ephesus…that of the Capitoline Jupiter are perish’d and obliterated, whilst Abury, I dare say, older than any of them, within a very few years ago, in the beginning of this century, was intire; and even now, there are sufficient traces left, whereby to learn a perfect notion of the whole”…

This geomantic shaping of the contours and features of the land in antiquity is to be found in the history of China similarly, where Taoist and other philosophies grew to create a vision of a living landscape in which small (conscious) changes would optimise the flow of the different vital energies present within nature, from the highest levels downwards. (Much as the art of Acupuncture opens and balances the pathways of Qi within the body to establish health and vitality).

A point of note comes from the history of antiquarian studies of the Long Man – according to the (extensive) article by Dr Mark Hows, (from hows.org.uk) from which much of this information is drawn, the earliest known drawing of the figure comes from 1710, which showed it with slightly different outward facing feet; while the next depiction comes from the significant year of 1776..! In the drawing from then, which is included in Cambden’s ‘Britania’ of 1806, the man holds a rake and a scythe in his hands, although the 1710 record is indeed of two straight staffs held perpendicular to the ground, as at present. The parish church at Wilmington, dating to the twelfth century, is named St Mary and St Peter’s Church – another combination of the names of the lines of Michael and Mary with St Peter, as seen to be the case at Little Wittenham, as well as Mary Tavy and Peter Tavy, at the point near to St Michael’s church, Bren Tor, where the Michael and Mary line(s) enter Dartmoor. St Peter features in a stained-glass window in the north chapel at Wilmington, with several insects depicted around him (!), while nearby at Folkington is the church of St Peter Ad Vinculum, ‘St-Peter-in-Chains’; the same name coincidentally as the church in Rome where the 1515 statue by Michelangelo of Moses with horns now resides…) 

As the article notes, the role of St Peter as a gatekeeper of heaven (and his symbol of two keys crossing a central axis line – in potential sinewaves, or in the manner of hexagonal geometries – as shown above left) may be relevant in consideration of the Long Man’s holding of two staffs, or door-handles. Something the Libation Vase of Gudea has been conjectured to be depicting in its representation of two ‘celestial dragons’ (‘mushussus’) holding each a staff or doorpost, with a twined double serpent representing the fertility god Ningishzida between them. That Ningishzida was also in myth a ‘gatekeeper’ of the ‘heavenly palace of Anu’ alongside Dumuzi, (another fertility god of Sumer), in the Myth of Adapa, is further confirmation of these (mythical) themes’ coherence.

And considering the relation between the intertwined serpents and the leylines of England/ Britain, Dr Hows notes in his article that several notable ancient trackways passed nearby to Wilmington, including; a Roman road which passes across the top of Windover Hill, close to three of the barrows there before heading to Eastbourne. Dr Hows states the possibility that this road may have had a further significance in being a Cursus, an official ‘Course’ (of the Roman Empire). Other pathways include several Roman terrace ways, while there is also in the present day the Wealdway, an 83 mile-long footpath stretching from Gravesend in Kent to Eastbourne, two miles north of Beachy Head). He also notes that Albert Watkins, the author of ‘The Old Straight Track’ in 1925, and inspiration for later conceptions of leylines and ‘sacred geography’, mentioned Wilmington in his work, putting forward the theory that the Giant is a ‘dodman’, an ‘ancient surveyor’, one who ‘laid out the original leylines with the help of his two staffs’ (in one way or another).

Another apposite coincidence is that the name Wilmington is significant in the United States as being the (East coast, state of Delaware) hometown of the renowned Du Pont clan, and modern-day multinational chemical company since 1802, when Pierre Samuel Du Pont de Nemours, and his sons Eleuthere and Victor left revolutionary France. This was notably with Eleuthere bringing his superior gunpowder production facilities with him, created under the the tutelage of Lavoisier, the great French chemist already mentioned. In fact, Wilmington, Delaware, USA was named after the 1^st Earl of Wilmington, (Spencer Compton), from the area of Eastbourne, Sussex (near to Hastings), who was a statesman and politician who eventually attained the office of Prime Minister, from 1742 until he died in July 1743…  

Du Pont incidentally, as mentioned, were the lead designers, builders and operators of the massive Hanford, Washington state nuclear fuels production facility for 4 years, from 1942-46 in its early developmental stages. Moreover, the 2^nd and 3rd atom bombs produced at Los Alamos using Hanford-produced material – those dropped in Japan – were designated ‘Little Boy’ (enriched uranium gun-type weapon, used at Hiroshima), and ‘Fat Man’ (a plutonium implosion-type weapon, used for the Nagasaki bomb); an earlier laboratory code for a model which was less effective was the 1944 ‘Thin Man’ design, which was a plutonium gun-type design given priority by Oppenheimer, but soon replaced by the more successful methods named. (The names Thin Man and Fat Man, symbolic of the key shapes inside the bombs were taken apparently from Dashiell Hammett characters in the Maltese Falcon(!), while Little Boy was to provide contrast to Fat Man)… But all three names nevertheless provide a tentative and curious connection to the ‘Long Man’ of Wilmington, as well as other symbolic links. 

Further coincidences occur in this (key inner) story of mankind’s weaponization of the powers of the Sun; for example, the news of the first ever atom bomb on July 16th 1945 at Trinity test site came at just the right moment politically, most possibly intentionally; for July 17^th was the opening day of the Potsdam conference near Berlin, Germany, in which the three Allied powers of America, Britain and Russia, (represented by Harry S.Truman, Winston Churchill, and Joseph Stalin respectively), decided the details of the post-war peace, Germany having surrendered nine weeks earlier – with Japan still fighting in the Pacific and refusing to surrender, despite its quite inevitable defeat. 

The telegram sent to Truman’s staff in Potsdam by the officials concerned with the Trinity test read as follows; 

“Doctor has just returned most enthusiastic and confident that the little boy is as husky as his big brother. The light in his eyes discernible from here to High Hold and I could have heard his screams from here to my farm”

The code meaning the explosion could be seen 250 miles away, and heard for a distance of 50 miles. Strangely though, this text recalls the birth of Noah as described in the Book of Enoch, when his appearance made his father believe the new-born was the child of one of the ‘sons of the Gods’, the Watchers;

“The wife of Lamech became pregnant by him, and brought forth a child (Noah) the flesh of which was white as snow and red as a rose; the hair of whose head was white like wool, and whose eyes were beautiful. When he opened them he illuminated the whole house, like the sun. Then Lamech his father was afraid of him…and said to his father Methuselah; ‘I have begotten a son, a changed son. He is not human, but resembling the offspring of the angels of heaven…his eyes are bright as the rays of the sun, his countenance glorious”.

A passage at the heart of one of the most important narratives which are hidden and encoded in the Bible (as well as virtually all the major religions’ scriptural writings) concerning the ‘celestial bloodlines’ as they were a significant part of mankind before – and after – the Flood. As an example of the many other examples of synchronicity which occur in this story is the first comment of Oppenheimer when the Trinity test on July 16^th worked; not the Bhagavad Gita quote already mentioned, of Shiva become the destroyer of worlds, but a separate quote which comes from chapter11.12 of the same work… Oppenheimer later recalled thinking as he watched the detonation;

“If the radiance of a thousand suns were to burst at once in the sky, that would be like the splendour of the mighty one” 

Another quote from the Hindu scripture written from the 3^rd or 4th century Bce which points to the levels of consciousness of cosmic forces many researchers and writers believe pertained therefore during this era in India; in like manner some writers question whether some form of atomic explosion was undergone at Mohenjo-Daro. The Vedic (and Jain) texts also contain detailed descriptions of Vimanas (meaning literally ‘having been measured out’ ), flying craft which are powered by the ‘forces of the whirlwind’, use various compounds of Mercury; and are able to ‘fly between the stars’… 

A great many Vedic texts describe vimanas, including the Ramayana, Mahabharata, Rig-Veda, Artharva-veda, Vishnu Purana, Bhagavata Purana, and so on. Often, they are described as being ‘sacred buildings’, with several storeys of rooms etcetera, which may be symbolic in some sense (ie implying the ‘cosmic’ proportionality of the sacred architecture of temples, and ‘heaven-earth’ axis points many such sites are located at) or may have been a way of relating to their listeners’ experience of the sacred. Some texts go into great detail on these ‘mercury vortex engines’; texts such as the Samarangana Sutradhara, which devotes over 230 verses to describing the construction and capabilities of such craft. It is fair to wonder then, when considering the philosophic qualities of the Vedic texts related to such modern subjects, whether they can be ascribed to a source of cosmic consciousness from that time; which it may be possible to connect to the Hindu ‘celestial beings’ the Nagas, powerful other-dimensional beings of great wisdom, who are dedicated to both celestial and human agendas…)

Also related may be the already mentioned early South American (pre-Inca) depictions of the founder of mankind and civilization, Viracocha, depicted at the gate of the Temple of the Sun at Tiahuanaco in Bolivia as standing holding a rod to either side of him. One rod is that which defined the omphalos point of the land where it sunk into the ground at Cuzco, and is similar therefore to the ‘measuring rods’ and angelic/ celestial beings depicted in Egyptian hieroglyphics and bas-reliefs: as well as Sumerian stelae, and in the Bible and other Hebrew/Christian texts in their descriptions of angels with rods measuring the Earth, and the City of God…as well as Watkins’ interpretation of the figure as an ancient ‘surveyor’ of the landscape, something held to be central to the role of the founding deities of South America. And as relevantly, considering the nature of the atomic bomb, the other rod held by the god depicted at Tiahuanaco is a rod which causes thunder and lightning, which archaeologists reasonably interpret to mean the god was a ‘storm-deity’… (Incidentally, the name Tiahuanaco means ‘the stone in the centre’, as a way of stating it to be the ‘centre of the world’, ie an omphalos, or ‘navel-point’, as a gateway to the higher dimensions which vitalize the earth. The similarities to the Foundation Stone in the Temple of Solomon, forming the geometric centre-point of the temple; the city of Jerusalem; and ‘the world’, is considerable).

The Long Man of Wilmington / below – The Two of Wands (Dominion)

More points of interest attach to the geo-glyph (ground symbol) itself – a man stood between, or holding, two vertical lines, or rods. The visual resemblance of these lines to the (double) energy lines we are discussing in this section is certainly possible. And of equal significance, this figure is found in the Tarot, (as any regular card user will recognise), in the minor arcana court-suite card the Two of Wands, which is referred to by the name also of ‘Lord of Dominion’, whether over the outer world, or equally relevantly, over the self.

And the last point of note for the moment, is that the line reaches the sea at Pevensey Bay, Sussex. This, it transpires, is where the Norman invasion and conquest of England began in 1066, meaning Pevensey Bay is where the French Norman forces made land soon after which occurred the Battle of Hastings, and all that ensued; the introduction of William the Conqueror as the King of England, his Norman relatives and nobles assuming control over English society, and the Norman era of history, complete with the changes and innovations they brought. 

And, incidentally, one connected to the issue of Dominion; as the Domes-day Book, (the Census listing every household in England, ordered compiled by William in 1086) reflects in its name, be that of the nation by its new Norman rulers (in the late 11th century), or of the local – domestic – environment by the farm and land/ householders present within its pages. (In fact Wilmington is in the Domesday Book, listed as Wilminte). 

The possibility may be that viewed through the lens of the Norman invasion, the word Dominion and the Two of Wands, raise the related semantic meaning of Will – the control of the Self, as well perhaps of others – as well as mankind’s ‘wilfulness’ in following ‘lower’ or base agendas. A question in the history of mankind raised in the biblical narratives of the Nephilim, who as ‘mighty men’ and ‘giants’ (‘long men’) encapsulated the dangers of great power, and self-will, when held without divine guidance or authority – (the full expression of which narrative included the onset of the Deluge, the destruction of the Tower of Babel, and many other events); and a question likewise raised in the application of the energies of the cosmos to produce weapons of dominion, annihilation and destruction – all containing substantially negative implications…

Lastly, and coincidentally, the Bayeux Tapestry features the third site on the related ‘Michael/Apollo’ line; namely Mont St Michel in Normandy, France, in the 16/17^th panels, in the era after the area was annexed from the Duchy of Brittany in 933. In the Tapestry Harold Godwinson, king Harold of England rescues two men from quicksand at the site, in the year before his death at the battle of Hastings. After the battle, the monastery at Mont St Michel gave its support to William, and was rewarded with lands in England, among which was the site which was named thereafter St Michael’s Mount in Cornwall…in this way forming part of the history of (and linking) the Michael/ Mary line from Lands’ End to Great Yarmouth with the Michael/ Apollo line, running (theoretically) from Skellig Michael, twelve miles off the coast of Kerry in Western Ireland, through Cornwall, Normandy, Switzerland, Italy and the Mediterranean to Israel and Mount Carmel.

Indeed there is supporting evidence for the ‘celestial’ nature of such events as of the Norman invasion, in the appearance of a comet over Hastings during the week of the battle, a circumstance included in the Bayeux Tapestry made to commemorate the Norman victory; as John Michell writes in City of Revelation, p22; “It has always been believed that the decisive moments in history are attended by the appearance of strange aerial phenomena, such as the glowing cross recorded by Josephus at the fall of Jerusalem, or the comet over the battlefield at Hastings. . .”

So in all, this point at Pevensey Bay where the third line of England reaches the sea may fairly be marked as where a new octave of British history began. A fitting end to our study of these national energy-lines, and hopefully the first in more studies of these links with higher dimensions which cross this land, and every land, in the invisible harmonic and geometric patterns, within which the world and its processes of life are founded.

Section appendix 1;

In the section on Silbury Hill the appearance of a crop circle on 27/6/2007 near to the Bronze Age site was noted. The aerial photograph of the crop circle was published widely, as shown; many identified it as a temple, possibly referencing the chequered floors of masonic halls. But having noted the significance of the Law of Seven and the Octave in cosmic#. and in examples of sacred architecture such as the Great Pyramid at Giza, it appears possible that an alternative interpretation may be more appropriate an answer, namely, if the image is rotated round by 90°. 

Then the image may be seen to be something entirely different; the inner structure of the Great Pyramid, in particular the steps and right-hand wall of the Grand Gallery ! As the Egypt section notes, the wall of the Gallery (which in symbolic terms is the upper spine of the Pyramid) is composed of seven overlapping layers. As such constituting a representation, from circa 2800Bce, of the Law of Seven, ie that of the Octave. This is supported by the thin groove between the third and the fourth layers from the bottom panel. 

This means in Octave terms that attention is being placed on the (Do -re ) mi –fa interval… in the Ray of Creation this is the gap existing between the Earth (microcosmos) and the Planets (fatae); a circumstance of the flow of energy through the dimensions which necessitates the existence of organic life to ensure the correct functioning of the solar system (!); for without this (resonant) ‘organ of perception’ or ‘sensitivity’ the energies between the two levels would be unable to interact or evolve.

The two intervals within each octave, at Do-Si, and Mi-Fa are central to understanding the Law of Seven as it describes all physical (and cosmic) phenomena, according to Gurdjieff, who brought the renewed understanding of this, as well as that of the related Enneagram, to modern times. That the Great Pyramid encoded the significance of this symbol/ process of the Octave into one of its key architectural features shows something of the continuity across time of the transmission of many of the tenets of sacred wisdom… a process which Gurdjieff likened to a ‘great river’, which at times flows above ground, and at others beneath the surface of the earth; with this according to the requirements of both time and place.

Numerous other features of the Pyramid, and other Egyptian monuments also contain many levels of meaning within their design and construction; but the Grand Gallery of the Great Pyramid is one of the most significant. So it is a circumstance of some import that it is just four inches from the Step at the top of the gallery (leading to the Ante-chamber and the King’s Chamber) to the pyramid’s central axis line; and it is here that the axis is crossed by the SW-NE line of the North facing star shaft, and the SE-NW line of the Gallery, where the mi-fa line crosses the N-S axis, thus replicating the geometries of the hexagon, (in which the central axis is crossed by two symmetrical lines). (With the pyramid’s central N-S axis running from the basement vertically through the Queen’s Chamber roof apex on upwards to the Great Step at the top of the Grand Gallery)…This is a template reproduced in the map of the world with Giza at its centre, and in that of England, with its three geometrically intersecting energy-lines, among many examples.

If the Queen’s Chamber is the ‘heart’ of the Pyramid, and the King’s Chamber is the level of the brain, or ‘head’, (along with the basement level as ‘instinctive centre’ of the stomach/ body, and ground level as the ‘moving centre’ of the same) then the point at the junction of the mi-fa line, the central axis and the star-shaft may be equated to the neck-point in the human being called the Occipital Gate in TCMA, at the top of the spine as it enters the skull. A point where symbolically matter and energy meet, or the heavens and earth. This is the point where the Sumerian Tree of Life stela depicts a deity inserting a ‘pine-cone’ into a man’s neck, possibly indicating the creation of fully conscious ‘homo sapiens’ at some juncture in pre-history by the introduction, or enhancement of celestial factors into the human frame.

This estimation of the meaning of the cross-over point within the Pyramid is purely theoretical; the Ante Chamber, just besides this point, and of great esoteric significance in the inner structure of the Pyramid is then what precisely? Perhaps representative of the pineal gland, seated directly between and behind the two hemispheres, near the occipital and parietal bones of the skull, and linking the higher and lower aspects of the self, according to philosophers throughout history, as well as performing its complex functions within the body’s physiology..? The only sure conclusion is that some form of metaphorical significance was attached to this axial cross-over point between three of the most important architectural lines within the Great Pyramid…

From the crop circle it can be seen to replicate the stepped ceiling of the Grand Gallery, so that from beneath it resembles a set of stairs running up the ceiling (!) – another of the great number of puzzling and awe-inspiring details of the pyramid’s design which will have involved extremely high levels of precision and care during construction…

As noted, while the Great Pyramid is 51.74-84° angle, and at 30°N, Silbury Hill, likewise ‘pyramidal’ in shape, although only 130 feet high, (which is considerable for a man-made hill!), is at 51.41°N, and is 30° angle of slope (the latitude of which is exactly 1/7 of the polar circumference of the Earth). Moreover, the re-interpreted image now shows the pyramid shape, with a structure of inner steps, ie as a ziggurat. The Great Pyramid is assessed to have probably been constructed in this way, with the outer, now-removed polished white limestone casings forming a smooth side. By the estimate of archaeologists, it is possible Silbury Hill was likewise made level by level. Further, both pyramid and Silbury Hill have flattened apexes, as the crop-circle shows, in the case of the pyramid probably due to the removal of the entire capstone, or benben stone, although equally possibly an intentional part of the pyramid’s design…

And lastly, the crop circle design effectively indicates the significance of the square and the circle in sacred geometry and cosmic #, symbolizing within themselves and their interaction the relationship between energy and matter within the universe; or between the heavens and Earth.

One curious last note which relates to this interaction is the following; 

we have seen how the Lindisfarne-Isle of Wight line measures 346.4 miles long, 0.8 miles difference to the Cos# 345.6, and indeed 3.46 4 = 0.866 x 4 = 1.732 (√3) x 2 = 3.46 4. (As 1/720 of the Earth’s equatorial circumference = 34.56 miles, ie each half of a degree…) So 172.8 x 2 = 345.6, and 173.2 x 2 = 346.4. Possibly a reason why the Grand Gallery in the Great Pyramid, as we have seen a symbol of the upper half of the spine as it reaches the brainstem and brain (connecting Queen’s Chamber/chest and King’s Chamber/brain), measures 346 British inches – or 28.8 feet – in height. (With 288 already being shown from biblical number symbolism to represent the basic vibrational rate of the universe; perhaps why 14.4 is the basic unit of the Vesica Piscis hexagon sub-division into smaller triangles).

Also how if the 346.2 mile long N-S line’s Lindisfarne-Didcot midpoint AB = 281.30m, and the BC section Didcot-Isle of Wight = 65.15m, then the proportion of AB:BC = 4.32 5 :1. (ie 281.35/ 65.05 = 4.32 5) Which is so close to the Cos# 432 – 4.33, (see Vesica Piscis as mentioned, plus the radius of the Sun at 432,500m radius /865,000 diameter) as to be identical.

Additionally, if the line from Lindisfarne to the Isle of Wight is measured to the point where it intersects the cross-country M62 (below), this can be seen to be exactly at the junction where the M62 crosses the M1, a couple of miles south of Leeds, (with the M62’s course across the entire breadth of England following a similar ‘SW-NE’ angle as the Michael and Mary line). It is of interest that the measurements are as follows;

AM:      Lindisfarne – M62   = 211.60

MC:      M62-Isle of Wight   = 134.70

AM/ MC   = 1.57089.

As such, it can be seen that the ratio of the two sections is π /2 (!)

And note the ‘squared circle’ of the crossover point/roundabout – a design that found expression in Celtic Cross designs across (Gaelic) Europe in the Christian era; possibly linked to earlier Egyptian Tau crosses, but of great antiquity anyway. The metaphorical meanings of the cross have been explored for as long as they have been used as symbols of the gods in Egypt, and of Jesus in Christianity – meanings centred around the interaction of material and spiritual realities, etc. Also the Celtic cross was descriptive of the instrument developed by Neolithic or Iron Age astronomers to calibrate and measure the movement of stars across the horizon during a set period of time; as well as by navigators of sea-vessels who used the cross as an early form of astrolabe, to pinpoint the position of the boat in relation to the stars, and thus locate their position on seas. But it is no surprise to find a representation of the quartered circle reaching all the way back to the Sumerian civilization, for example, as depicted on the emblems of jewellery on the chest of the Assyrian king, on a bas-relief of Shalmaneser-V at the British Museum. Likewise here within the highly allegorical and symbol-laden Tablet of Shamash, from Sippar c.850Bce. (Alongside several other meaningful symbols, such as the ‘rod-and-ring’ held on the right of the detail of the Tablet below, which was a symbol of the divine protection encircling the bounds of the land, or even in the highest example, the Cosmos).

Theories exist that some of the first uses of the cross dividing a circle came from the Indus civilization, (found at places such as Harappa, Mohendro-Daro etc c.2600 Bce) and spread westwards via Iran, and Turkmenistan before reaching the Sumerian related cultures, such as the Assyrians from c.1300 Bce, and the Babylonians c.1800-1600Bce, as well as the Kassites of Mesopotamian civilization in the 2^nd millennia Bce. (See – Collon,1982 etc; Possehl, 2002; Sommerfield,1995; Meadow,1991, etc). It is likely such a symbol was developed in several places though. Putting aside different cultural meanings at different times and places of the thousands of years such symbols were used in artworks, it is clear this division of the circle into four is one of the most widespread and ubiquitous of ‘geometric shapes’ with symbolic meanings in many of the early societies of western Asia – (as well, incidentally, as being one of the most prevalent templates of crop circles nowadays!). The theme is continued in the first book of the Bible;

 “And a river went out of Eden to water the garden; and from thence it was parted, and became into four heads” (Genesis2.10).

And as we see in the Sacred Geometry section, the Templar cross was similar to the squared circle, while the ‘Maltese/ Knights Hospitaller cross’ design is easily extended into the shape of the squared circle; archetypal symbol of the diffusion of higher energies throughout the Earth.

Thus another strangely coincidental fact in this study of England (and Britain) related to these geometrically derived lines is found; ‘facts’ which may ultimately mean nothing, or may potentially indicate the structures of the material plane are indeed somehow created or shaped by energetic ‘dynamics’; particularly through the inner perceptions and higher functions of human beings. Higher energetic pathways, patterns, expressions or functions which are little known or understood; but appear to be linked essentially to the many subject(s) of Cosmic number, and to the world as it has always existed, and to the environment we inhabit today.
